Yay Rama! ❤️❤️❤️ I'm feeling so sick today. Nothing helps the nausea. I need to clean my house today because I've neglected it for weeks. LOL

One of my coworkers just asked if I'm pregnant because "you're eating a lot more".
Well, that's sweet and doesn't at all make me feel self conscious.

I'm heading in to work today for a bit to get some things ready for Tuesday. I have a very obvious bloat bump. I'm hoping no one else decides to go in today. I don't want to field any questions until after I know for sure what's going on.

As soon as I got to my MIL's this weekend, she sings "she's got a belly, she's got a belly!" Like thanks. I know I'm pg and I actually don't mind having a bump, but that doesn't mean I want other people singing about it.

Is anyone getting an NT scan? Our insurance covers it, so we always elect to do it. My OB humors my need for all the non-invasive tests.

I didn't get it with DD, but we did schedule our anatomy scan a little early before the cut off for some of the tests. We decided if we saw potential markers we'd do more testing. This time, I think I will opt for testing before that I'm planning on asking my dr when I see her for my first appointment next week.

I've been trying to get as much work done as possible. I'm a Scentsy Consultant, so I can work basically from anywhere as long as I have internet connection. But lately, I haven't been up to doing much of that or anything at all. Like cleaning, cooking, laundry, anything awake.
I have, in August, finished Jane The Virgin, Stranger Things, Weeds, and a good dozen movies or so on Netflix?

My parents are moving out of their house because their closing on a house around the corner from us tomorrow. So they're staying with us tonight. I'm a little stressed about it because our house is not really great for guests. At least for my parents for guests. I'd like to put them in what will eventually be baby #2's room but it's right at the top of our stairs and since my parents can't see my H is nervous my mom will fall down the stairs. Which she probably would. So instead they're staying on a really nice air mattress in our living room and I feel bad.
Plus I have to clean and I really don't want to.

Is it bad I'm already counting the days until Thanksgiving? My last pregnancy I was due early May so I was pregnant same time of year and I had been so sick for so long and about a week before Thanksgiving I started to feel better. It was the best meal I've ever eaten. I'm already dreaming about it this go around.

I think prenatal testing is so, so important. Rama, wtf is that about? Particularly with a complicated history like yours or mine, I feel like you should have some option for prenatal testing before the anatomy scan. Do you have any other options?

Unfortunately in my situation, if I'm going to have a yummy holiday meal I'm going to have to cook it myself and host a house full of crummy inlaws, which sounds completely unappealing given how exhausted I've been. So I'm already dreading the holidays. Which is a shame, because stuffing. And gravy.

ArielMermaid, right? Neither of my inlaws (they are divorced) really cook. My FIL and his wife are obnoxious so spending holidays with them is difficult for other reasons. My MIL is a total sweetheart, but cooking stresses her out so if we spend a holiday with her, I do the cooking. Which I usually don't mind, because its my best chance to eat exactly the food I want to eat, but its just so much work! My parents do the holidays right, but its not "their year" and I'll get earfuls from the inlaws if we go to my mom and dad's again. Lol. So much drama. Anyone here want to adopt me?

calendula I am your MIL. I COULD NEVER host a Holiday. I'm stressed just thinking about it! I bring a side to both of our Thanksgivings and that's about enough for me lol

I'm sorry calendula, that sounds pretty stressful...although I guess your right, you do get to eat what you want. I'm not really looking forward to Thanksgiving either though. We've been going to DH's grandparents house in the morning and his cousins in the afternoon since we've moved here. They both end up cooking pretty much the same things...and I miss some of the food that my mom normally makes. She makes some really good rutabagas, cabbage, sweet potatoes, and green bean casserole. Now I've made myself hungry.

calendula come to our house... rather, my parents' house. My mom is the best holiday cook on the planet. We go ALL IN. It looks like between me saving leave and DH's work schedule, traveling to MIL's for thanksgiving would be a struggle. What a shame. (FWIW they are always invited and never accept - but will go to their friends' hide that is pretty close to use. I can't help but see this as a giant fuck you.) ArielMermaid you just gave me so much hope. Last time I was KU I was super sick at thanksgiving. It was the worst. I just found out my preferred newborn photographer is going to be out of the country for all of April. Awesome. My second choice just announced she's KU and will be delivering right around when I would want to do maternity/family pictures and will likely be on maternity leave throughout April.

Leaf 🌱, I wouldn't mind if my FIL preferred not spend holidays with us LOL. Like, I'll take the FU if it means not seeing them. And your parents house sounds awesome, I love going all in on holiday food. Nom nom

With my last pregnancy I was due June and hadn't quite announced yet so we kept it a secret at Thanksgiving with our entire extended family. I'm looking forward to being able to wear my maternity jeans and EAT ALL THE THINGS this time and not have to worry about hiding my belly after I eat. It's the little things, isn't it?

Oh no Leaf 🌱😩 Any other back up picks? i live on the cusp of a very high COL area and session fees aka one would be above $1000 for the two sessions with most photographers. I love my kids, but I do not need to drop a few grand on their photos. I think we'll just drive further out to something more affordable for newborn photos. I think I will splurge on a fresh 48 session when DD meets #2 though.

It's just the NTS specifically they don't do. We're getting the blood screening (I'm pretty sure this is the MaterniT-type thing) definitely and will decide based on those results if we need/are okay with Villi/Amnio.
