bazi, I'm sorry your having a rough time with your DD. Definitely eat all the tacos! Also, I will note the hypocrisy of complaining about my weight and then resolving to eat my feelings. The most common phrase I'm getting these days is "Look at you!" Yes, friends and coworkers, I know. I look enormous.

This is also me. I ate so much lasagna and cake last night then got very upset at my scale this morning. So I ate more lasagna. You think I'd learn.

On Monday, I was approached by a random co-worker. "I didn't know you were pregnant- you must be due any day now!"
Nope. Not close. But thanks for the ego boost.

I am kind of dreading going to pick up DD at preschool. She was a DEMON this morning and I totally lost my cool. H is traveling for work all week and she's just been such a pain. Tantrums for no reason, insisting on doing everything herself, throwing stuff, defiance. She's even giving her teachers a tough time which is not normal. Tonight I will drown my sorrows in tacos. ds3 has been acting the same way. Today he waited until we were in the middle of a parking lot then just sort of laid down and screamed. It wasn't even a realistic tantrum! It's like he knows I can't pick him up anymore! Thank God the older ones were with me cause they grabbed him and put him in the car. But instead of doing everything by himself, he wants help with eeeevvvverrrrything. He's constantly saying "help please" when he doesn't really need it.

I know nothing about milk and iron deficiency so I'll stay outta that one. But I am anemic during every pregnancy and have to take supplements near the end. They make me puke. Not fun.
I was told to take it with orange juice.
Also coffee is far superior to tea. Fact.

misskilljoy, it's like the teensiest bit low, I think hemoglobin should be between 115 and 155, and mine is 111. Okay, looking it up again because I remember nothing. The hematocrit is .32 (s/b .35-.45) and platelets are 149 (s/b 150-400). So you could be right and they are actually fine for pregnancy ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) I could probably eat a bit more iron rich foods though! And not follow them up immediately with ice cream.......... Okay, sounds like your levels are the same as mine more or less. Hemoglobin 110, hematocrit 0.34, my platelets were better though (190). My OB hasn't been worried. FWIW, the reference range for hemoglobin in my results is listed as 110-147 for pregnancy. For comparison, my levels were 127, 0.39, and 218 respectively back in April... they've definitely gone down as pregnancy has progressed. XD My OB said it's normal for all of these things to decrease as you go along. Hopefully your MW can give you some insight.

I feel hugely pregnant as well. Just hit me all of a sudden. I can barely get off the couch, hard to get off the floor where my kids want me to play all day.
I really don't see myself making it back to work in 2 weeks. Thankfully my doctor seemed on board with writing me a sick note so that will be good. I really want to go back but I have to be realistic and fair to my staff and students. I don't think I can do my job properly feeling this way.

In my world it paid to be the pregnant person today. First the vet checked me out in the exam room some wouldn't have to worry about the puppy pulling because he wanted to see the other dogs in the waiting room. Then for yoga not only did I have the below view but during shavasana the instructor spent the entire 2 minutes massaging my scalp, shoulders and calves. Edited to add pic ![](https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170810/f9f1066ef2ee1d000658ecb1d75ddf59.jpg)

I'll be going back in a couple of weeks, but I definitely plan to have my doctors write me out early. Teaching while pregnant is the pits. You have to be "on" 100% of the time and it's just exhausting. Plus if I get put in a shitty school or situation I will definitely opt to bail. Not sure how it is in your district, but here if I'm pulled early it's "medical leave" not maternity so I still get paid my full salary.

Not gonna lie, I'm hoping my doc tells me to go on medical leave tomorrow... but I doubt he will. Nothing is haywire enough. Maybe in two weeks? ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png) Obviously I want everything to be fine with my pregnancy, OBVIOUSLY, I just do not want to go back to work in September.

I'd love to just not go back, but given the current state of my job being so up in the air I just don't think it's an option, though I do have an appointment three days before my first in service day and I will make sure to complain an extra amount about everything so it gets documented. I obviously want my pregnancy to be fine and safe and healthy, but again, teaching while pregnant sucks. It's so hard. And if I'm in a crap position or school it'll be even harder. Thankfully my office is super note writing happy and will write me out whenever I'm ready. Last time they asked me at, I think my 24w appointment if I remember correctly, when I'd like to be done working. They said to just let them know and they'd write me out. So I will take advantage of their easy going medical note policy this time.

I'm a resource teacher- so a lot of co-teaching and paperwork. But also A LOT of chasing kids with extreme behaviour around and restraining them as necessary when it gets to be aggressive. So obviously can't do any of that. And three of our highest needs kids would be on my caseload so I'd feel bad always having to get other help because I can't run after them down the street. Which is basically all I did last September/October. Just isn't realistic. Plus- me being selfish- my son starts kindergarten and I really don't want to miss his first few days. 😊

If anyone needs me I'll be buried under the insane amount of reading I have to do for my new job. Exhibit A (and this is just a portion) ![](https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170810/8a89088bdbe3d87a8c1f41b16adf71fa.jpg)

I also really could use a hot bath right now. However, I know I will regret it in a hour when I can't sleep because I'm so hot.
#firstworldproblem, yes I know. 😉

Oh i just saw my tag! misskilljoy and blabbermouth I don't have any suggestions re: platelets, other than platelet infusion. Platelets have to get pretty low to pose a threat of that caliber, though, so I would assume your doc won't go for that. Also, different hospitals have different reference ranges, so if you are borderline, you may fall within range at another facility. Looks like my hemoglobin is fine but RBCs are a bit decreased. Interesting.

Canada vs. England: Iron Bowl 2017 LOL. I have never heard of milk hindering or helping with iron either way... Vitamin D, yes.

I'm so torn. Should I still have milk like I normally do? Why would they make me drink all that milk if it done the opposite of what it was needing to do If your levels have been fine, I would continue with what you are doing!

Sorry for the rant. My kid is in the hospital again. My husband took him into the clinic and they admitted him because his liver isn't producing what it needs to properly clot his blood. His liver is crap. They are talking for sure a liver transplant now. We will know tomorrow more hopefully.
