I will hopefully be taping off DS's room today in the hopes of painting it at some point in the next week. After I paint, he gets new curtains, we'll properly organize the dress up stuff, and get him some Lego storage or a table later this year.
Curtains for DD's room were hung yesterday and her new dresser should be here soon. Then we just have to hang up art and start looking for a desk for Christmas or her birthday in Jan.
The nursery is currently empty with a pile of clothes and stuffed animals in the middle. But we'll get there. Eventually.

Ugh that really sucks cnf. I hope you get placed at one of the better of your options and your safety is not at risk. Sending you all the ice cream since you can't have wine lol

That really sucks cnf. I hope you get a decent placement. Good luck at your appt. bethkate. You are on the ball AnnPerkins. My DS currently has 2 rooms because we got him a new bed, etc and put it in the guest bedroom but I haven't had time to move any of his other stuff over. I really need to get on that.

I can get why you might maybe be feeling behind with your history of having super early babies, though, but I think you're good. Is that weird to say? It feels weird to say. ANYWAY, I think you're ahead of the game! I wish I had your motivation, haha. We still haven't moved the futon out of the playroom, which we need to do before we convert half the playroom to a "nursery" (read: crib and clothing storage). Going to suggest to DH that we do that today. I can't do any setup until that futon is moved. I'm probably not doing any huge decorating or anything, though.

Here at the OB's office. I took my glucose drink about 15 minutes ago and have my regular appt soon. Stupid 2 hour test. Stupid fasting. But the drink wasn't terrible, the lab tech is someone I know (we actually met at a work training) and said he got me the better flavor, haha.
Drinking ice water and thinking about the bagel sandwich I will get after this!

misskilljoy, it wasn't weird. lol I just really hate having October-November being this giant black hole of what-if. Will the baby be early and we have to deal with crappy early baby things? Am I going to start itching again? Will the shots work and it will be somewhat on time? Will it be huge if that's the case? And if so, will it break me? I think trying to stay busy is my way of coping with the uncertainty.

The nursery is currently empty with a pile of clothes and stuffed animals in the middle. But we'll get there. Eventually. I see we are in the same exact planning stages. I want to paint this weekend. We are going to be playing musical bedrooms; for a while, even though DD's new room will be done, she will sleep in the nursery in a twin (before baby is transferred there). This is because in her new (bigger) room she will be taking the queen bed, but since we will have visitors (grandparents, etc) in the early days, we are leaving the queen for visitors for a bit. And after she switches, she will just use the twin in the office while visitors use the queen. I don't want to have to move her back and forth too many times and confuse her, on top of introducing the new baby. So for now both the crib and the twin are in her current room/the nursery. Which will be painted soon. Did I make anyone's head spin? Lol. FIL put together her new dresser this weekend, which we didn't even ask him to do, so that was great! I really have amazing ILs. I also got this unicorn lamp because the room needed something else gold to match the gold polka dots. Also because it is amazing.

Just like McDonald's orange drink from when we were kids. Sorry cnf, that sounds super disappointing. I hope you end up somewhere decent.

thatgolfb, unicorn lamp! Amazing! I was looking at wall decals to go above the crib last night. Of course the ones I like most are the most expensive.

This is the only art I have that I need to put up in the playroom. A student made it for me when I was pregnant with DD and I just never got around to hanging it.

Well the baby either loves or hates the glucose drink. My doctor told me to drink cranberry juice daily to ward off UTIs last time and I drank a huge glass of it as part of my fluid intake before an ultrasound when I was pregnant with DD. The ultrasound tech was so annoyed. I wasn't able to feel movement at that point, but watching on screen was hilarious - DD would NOT stop moving. Then I did the glucose test early enough both times that I felt some movement but not too much. I can only imagine the gymnastics going on in your ute right now. XD

It sucks when people ask when the baby is due, well November but maybe October and hopefully not September. I am having an especially difficult time because DS1 will be 2 on 10/28 and I can't plan a bday party because that is 37 weeks and who the hell knows what will be happening. All of my sympathies and sorries.

Work crap continues. My supervisor said that I will likely receive a lay off notice in the next couple days. I was half expecting that so I'm not shocked, but I am quite annoyed for the participants in the program who have not been informed of any of the behind the scenes stuff going on. I've gotten the organization set up in a way that they can function without me so I'm hopeful that they will have someone who can step in to do that at least. Pajamas everyday here I come!

I'm so sorry, cnf . That sucks. Do you have a union? If so, could you get them involved given that you're pregnant to make sure you aren't put in a potentially violent assignment? I was able to make health and safety complaints about an aggressive student when pregnant so that I was never alone, safety plan in place if they got violent, etc. It helped me a lot. If he had escalated, I would have swapped duties with someone for that time. I could, but honestly, the union in this district is a fucking disaster. I called my mentor yesterday and she actually told me it would be best if I don't approach them until things shake out, which is so counter intuitive to my previous districts. Honestly, my back up right now is that our builder is expanding his business and needs an administrator. He likes me, lives a mile down the street, and would likely match my salary if I reached out to him in desperation. Not ideal, but better then being miserable and in a dangerous situation.

Our nursery is still completely dismantled and in shambles from moving DD out of it. I really should get it put back together and find the tote of newborn/0-3m clothes, get them washed and put away. But, ugh, work.

That sucks, cnf. I'm sorry. I'm spoiled by having a very powerful union here so they are proactive and able to look out for members ahead of time. I hope everything turns out okay and you aren't put in an uncomfortable/dangerous situation.

I'm still hell bent on hosting my play group's annual Halloween play date on 10/30😂 I'm sure your DS will have a great day, whatever you do. When mine turned 2, we had just moved across the country and celebrated with a store bought cake sitting on top of a storage bin since our furniture hadn't arrived yet.

Someone is eating soup in the waiting room. I mean, yes annoying that she is eating while I can't eat, but also... She has soup in like a regular glass bowl. Not a takeout container. It seems odd.

That's mean eating in the waiting room. Is that waiting room only for the GD tests? Not exactly looking forward mine on Monday, but the waiting room is purely for waiting during the test, so we don't get people eating so that's good. I'm going to get a nice sandwich and some coke to drink after mine!

I actually was fine with her eating, soup just seemed like a really odd choice! Lol. But I'm done and free! Picking up a bagel sandwich and iced coffee on my way to work.

Our house is getting listed tomorrow! We will stay in the same general area but part of e still thinks we're crazy for selling/moving right now. But at least I don't have to help lift the heavy stuff 😜

Ugh, sorry you're both dealing with job issues grumpycat and cnf, talk about non-ideal timing!! My province let's us look up our lab results online, so my glucose was good, 5.3. I am a titch low for iron and platelets though, anyone with any experience/advice? My prenatal has iron, and I eat a reasonable amount of meat I think. I'm not really sure about the platelet part and if that's connected or not. I mean, I could wait to see my MW, but you guys are smart!
