I never did classes. My husband knees nothing about caring for a baby. Like zero. He survived. My kids survived. My doctor recommended I go to prenatal classes this time too. I was like no- third kid. We have never gone before. We will be fine.
The only thing that drive me crazy was swaddling. My mom was much better at it than me. Eventually she made me bigger blankets and then I could do it better. Lol

My vacuum died about two hours into my deep clean, so this is accurate.

bethkate I'm glad the swelling is starting to go down, I hope it continues to improve! mrspiatt it sounds like you have a lot of tough decisions to make soon, good luck working through everything. Talk to me about baby classes. We'll take the hospital tour, my neighbor suggested a breastfeeding class that she found helpful, and I want to take infant CPR. What else was good, what was a waste of time? I see an infant care class and a labor class. H is concerned with being left alone with the baby b/c he's never changed a diaper, do we take infant care or do I wait because I feel he'll step up to the challenge and the nurses will help him before we leave the hospital? I want him to feel confident but I also don't want to leave the class feeling like it was a waste of time. I've read up on labor and delivery and have some idea as to what to expect, he knows what he's seen in movies So again do we take the class so he'll have a better idea or do I just give him the cliff notes about what I know? Haven't read the full thread, but our diapering part of class was about 5 minutes. We practiced on a stuffed animal. Any friends with kids? I'm sure they'd let DH practice on their kids! Plus, after week 1, he'll be changing diapers in his sleep!

If you want to do "classes" baby center actuallt has a fabulous online birth class that is free. It's only a few hours over a bunch or short videos but I found them very helpful in leui of paying for a real class

I cannot believe how much my lower back hurts tonight. I might be sleeping with my heating pad.
Though now that I'm thinking about it, I've been cramping and having rough BH too. I'm pretty sure my body is going into full pregnancy self destruct mode. Can I just get to third tri first, please, body?

We bought a Costco sized bag of m&ms on the weekend. I just told my husband he better hide them before I eat the whole bag.
I'm so full from supper yet grab a handful every time I walk by the pantry.

It's pouring out. And I'm so happy. My flowers will be happy lol. The outdoor cat is indoors and he had some words with the other two indoor cats. Only pride seems to have been injured. The female indoor cat came to the defense of the male indoor cat, which is interesting because she mostly just tolerates his existence. I guess she felt protective? Cats are weird.

Can't get over how strong DD's movements have got. Seemed like only last week I would be like was that a movement then?
Now she kicks, rolls, punches all over the place. It can make me breathless at times, and I'm starting to feel limbs just poke out of me, where I have to push against it as my skin stretches and hurts lol.
My body is going to be battered and bruised from the inside by 10 weeks time.
Sure you guys understand what I mean 😂

beefinch - I know what you mean. It's like these two are having a party in there!! Anyone else's toddler starting to cling? He constantly wants to be carried "like a baby" when he's with me, but when DH takes him somewhere, he wants to walk "like a big boy." As he gets bigger - and as I get bigger -- this is becoming much more difficult. I feel so bad because I know the twins are going to really change DS's life and how difficult it may be in the beginning. But I don't know whether to push being a big boy now or to baby him now while I can ...

bethers DS has been on a huge mommy kick lately. I carry him sometimes but other times I just let him know that I can't right now because of baby. He seems to get it- he's almost 3. He's also been having a hard time with drop off, even on days he goes with my mom whom he loves. The last few days have been a little better so fx we've turned a corner. I definitely think the separation issues are related to the new baby coming.

DS has requested more snuggles lately, but hasn't been overly clingy. Hopefully it stays this way.

DS has been clingy but he has always had a tendency to be that way so I didn't really associate it until I was dropping him off at the babysitters and he didn't want me to leave one day and they started talking about how he should be better after I have the baby if I involve him in helping, etc. Now I wonder about it every time he is throwing a clingy fit.

DD is wildly unpredictable and has been into some snuggles after a loooong period of not wanting anything to do with me. I assume she is just mooching body heat.

I've mentioned before, but we've been in a serious separation anxiety phase lately. It seems to be finally easing up. I do love the snuggles though. My kid is not the snuggliest babe.

DS is also very cuddly, especially at night. No complaints about that part! I just don't know how much I should give into his "like a baby" requests. I'm going to look for a book on this, I think.

Sometimes DD wants to cuddle and "hug the baby" which is adorable but it isn't in a clingy way. She is also 3.5 though, so an older toddler. (ETA and AnnPerkins DS is literally exactly the same age down to the day lol) Also she is extremely tall and has long limbs (something I cannot relate to), so carrying her is... Interesting.

I told my daughter yesterday that I can't pick her up any more. It's just too awkward and weird. Thankfully she can get in and out of her car seat on her own, which was the only time I really had to pick her up any more.

DS (2.5yo) has always been snuggly. He's been more pro mommy and anti daddy lately but I think that's more to do with my ability to calm tantrums prior to them starting. I've told DS that I can't hold him as much as I used to. And I'll frequently sit down to hold him if he insists. I can't do bedtime comfortably anymore. Sitting to read to him is painful and uncomfortable, but we can't move a chair in his room because he will use it to climb.

My kids are behaving better for me than for DH, which I'm not complaining about! DS is 38 pounds and DD is 50, so I'm not allowed to pick them up per doctor's orders. At night I'll "rock" DS for a few minutes by sitting on his floor and cradling him on the edge of his bed. He likes it and seems to understand why Mommy can't pick him up all the time.
