jubilantsquirrel I struggle with that as well. DH has a tendency to be more strict than me so we butt heads a lot and he tells B 'no' a lot more than I would. I know we need to be on the same page but I am having a hard time because there are times when I would not tell B no but my H does. And then he and I argue about it and it's just a mess. This is me and MH. A few times I have stepped in, like the time MH was trying to confiscate W's watch because he was trying to wear it on his right wrist and refused to switch to the left. Like who gives a shit? Why were we fighting about that? That was probably the worst, usually it's not that OTT. Yeesh. I definitely have control freak-ish tendencies (although not this bad, ha) and the question I always ask myself is, is this the hill you want to die on? Usually the answer is no. My thought is that when I do come down really hard about something, I want my kids to know I mean business b/c it's not my norm, if that makes sense. Food for thought for your H, I guess. I think overall DH and I take turns being good cop/bad cop. It's no fun to *always* have to be the enforcer. There are certain things he really cares about that I'm meh on, and vice versa, but we try to back each other up.

STMs, when did your LO get their first haircut? B's was around 11 months old. 😢 I've had to trim C's in a couple spots with manicure scissors but I'm not counting that as the official first cut. I can't even cut C's nails these days. I can't imagine trying to put scissors near his face lol.

Sheww I don't even do nails anymore. I stressed so bad every time and H made a comment about "how hard could it really be?" and got handed a weekly daddy/ daughter mani session assignment.

kleigh We started around 1 with please and thank you. We were repeating it more than her but we made sure to use it every time. Me: would you like some milk? M:: nods head yes:: Me: Yes, please? Now she says please and thank you all the time. The waiters used to get a kick out of her because she would say thank you every time they walked by. Even now sometimes I remind her to use nice manners. Me: Would you like some more milk? M: Yes. Me: yes, please? M: Yes, please.
