Re shoes: Lucie's List has some good info and suggestions. The Big take away is flexible soles and the right size. I love Stride Rite to find shoes, especially for my tiny footed people. www.lucieslist.com/best-walking-shoes-infants-toddlers/Re seizures etc: Lillian has a sleep disorder that pops up now and then that looks like seizures. She had it for the first time at 6 months. It was scary. I do remember asking when she was a baby about weird jerking and tics. Their immature nervous system can cause benign random movements, but if you're concerned at all, take a video. That's how my pediatrician instantly knew what Lillian's weird sleep thing was. waitwhat I've heard that. The children's comes with a cup instead of a syringe so it makes sense to buy children's vs infants if you already have one.

Speaking of gimmicks, ( tgrimes made me think of this) apparently the infant Tylenol and children's Tylenol is the same exact thing. The infant one is significantly higher priced but it's the same exact product. Yup. They changed that several years ago because of overdoses so now they're the same. Motrin/ibuprofen is not though. Technically, you can use either as long as you know what dosage to do. The pediatric ER dr on N13 gave us the formula.

My ibuprophen doesn't have the mini hole to insert the sucker for easy filling and it's annoying and messy. Does anyone know what I'm talking about or do I sound crazy ?

hangry I know exactly what you mean. It's why I prefer Tylenol over Motrin. It's so freaking messy!! FTR, I buy infants Tylenol so that I get the tip with the hole to put the syringe in.

I like PediPed and Robeez shoes for this stage (pre-walking). We still do a lot of (mostly?) barefoot time but if we go out to eat or on errands I'll put little sandals on C. StrideRite does a great job with toddler shoes--B always needed wide or extra wide widths, which they offer--but they're closing all their retail stores and will only be online or maybe in department stores I have successfully used the measuring device you can print out from their website, though.

So here's my question...I cannot for the life of me remember when I switched from Pampers Swaddlers to Cruisers with B. When do I do this? Now-ish? Later? I found myself literally paralyzed with indecision in the diaper aisle at RiteAid this morning.

Thank you tjanca22 and starbuck . I ended up with Cruisers b/c they were sold out of Swaddlers in 4's. But then I got sad when I opened them up at home, b/c they have the design all over them, vs. being mostly white like the Swaddlers.(Sidenote: Pampers, QUIT TRYING TO MAKE MY BABY GROW UP.) So I bought some more Swaddlers when we went to WalMart later, which I rationalized b/c they do so well at night. I used the Pampers BabyDry with B, too--the 12 hour ones--but I can't remember when. Maybe at night when he was a bit older? I swear, I used to have such a terrific memory but lately my brain feels like mush. If I was going to have a third, I would probably need to write down where I left him during the day/ (Also, PSA to all: RiteAid is running a buy 1, get one half-off sale on diapers right now!) eta: can you tell I'm drinking right now? Sorry for the stream-of-conciousness on diapers and my memory.

Just wash out the dropper and keep using it. I don't understand why you can't just put the dropper in the hole of the children's Tylenol. When it gets too low to do it, just pour it in the provided cup and then suck it out with the dropper. I realize I'm cheap but I don't see the point of paying more money for a bottle with a small hole in the top. I've never had a mess using this method.

It's the middle of the night debacles that gets me. Holding a screaming baby while trying to draw up medicine in the semi dark has gotten me more than once.

I just switched to cruisers with this most recent box. I figured this gimmick makes sense since they are shaped differently for more leg movement with crawling. And, I think you get more per box with cruisers vs swaddlers. Although if we are going this route, baby dry has the most per box.

We use Huggies and had a box of little movers size 3 from the diaper party. I thought they were so much better than the other kind so we switched. But right now we're using Kirkland which is some type of Huggies and they're working fine.

We switched to cruisers a month or two ago when we started having leaking issues. I love them, but am considering getting a small pack of Luvs to try out since they're more than half the price and I've heard good things.
Motrin/Tylenol I get regular children’s Tylenol and use 1 ml syringes, but still get the infant motrin because its concentrated. Will be switching to regular children's after we're done with what we have though.

+1 to robeez and/or freshly picked style if shoes for crawlers. Nordstrom sale ends today and they have both (and Nike frees) on there for cheap. N has only worn shoes as accessories so far, but I will put them on her once it gets cooler.
Once she's walking I will find some very soft soled shoes for outdoor. I liked stride rite for that style and then I love see Kai run for cuteness.

I have the thousand syringes too tgrimes and classymrsa ! Just in general from meds they've been on, Tylenol, Motrin, gripe water, etc etc etc. Also our pedi office gave us these booklets/journals (?) when they were first born - they mark all their height/weight checks in there and it has info on what to expect at each visit and in the back has a dosing chart for Tylenol, Motrin, and Benadryl - I look at it every time I give hem a dose bc my memory is shit.

Does anyone have any pro advice on how to make a ride in the car more bearable?
AV hates being in the car and the only thing that will keep her from screaming is having a bottle while she's in there (H is back there with them, but in general i hate letting her have a bottle while she's buckled up in there). I've heard maybe the switch to convertible with help but if anyone else has tips or thoughts please share?

kleigh My girls are awful when people are in the back with them. Lilah cries when she first gets in, but if no one is back there she'll calm down once we are driving. I also have a mirror that has lights and plays music that seems to help calm her down. She has toys, but I feel like they do the least for her.

As soon as I started reading your post kleigh I was thinking, switch to convertible. They are more upright and less in that awkward reclined position and they can see outside better. Do you have a mirror set up? Can she see you, or even better, can she see AB? Do you ever give them toys? Is the sun in her eyes ? Are there any straps that dig into her (the neck one always got O if the shoulder pad moved). O did not like being in the car either, so I'm just thinking of what bothered him or what helped.

kleigh switching to the convertable made a world of difference for both my boys. I can't explain why, but it did.

kleigh The convertible seat didn't work for M. She still hated the car and would scream the whole time. She finally stopped when we switched to forward facing. It was a long ass 2.5 years. LOL. Hopefully switching seats works for you. So far I can keep H entertained in the back with toys.

Thanks for asking about that kleigh. We have the same issue and have been putting off trips because of it. Absolutely nothing has helped, so we're going to just bite the bullet and mentally prepare ourselves for the fallout.

The last 3 days, H has pooped up his back in the evenings. Weight-wise he's not ready for the next size diaper, and they are looser poops (teething I'm assumimg)... But I'm wondering if I should go up a size anyway.
