The last 3 days, H has pooped up his back in the evenings. Weight-wise he's not ready for the next size diaper, and they are looser poops (teething I'm assumimg)... But I'm wondering if I should go up a size anyway. Wouldn't hurt to try. Â It's not like those diapers won't get used later if they don't work out now. Â KWIM? True. I'm not sure what's up with me. I was way less indecisive (more confident) the first time around.

But I'm wondering if I should go up a size anyway. This might be dumb, but can you get the next size and put that on him around the time he's been going? That way you're using the smaller ones up during the daytime and then still getting the extra coverage when needed? Of course I'm sure the second you try that he'll start pooping at a completely different time of day... ETA: I just looked at your 9 month check in. That's about the same weight M was when we made the switch to size four. I've never been able to follow the weight suggestions for her.

I can't say I've ever looked at the weights for diapers. As soon as they have a couple blow outs in a row, I move up.
ETA: like SG said, I've used big ones around pooping time and used up smaller ones at other times.

My kids never poop around the same time each day. WTF is wrong with them? Mine poop throughout the day. But for some reason, the past few days have been up his back at around supper time. He normally has an early morning poop too (like 5am) but hasn't lately.

My kids never poop around the same time each day. WTF is wrong with them? This child of mine will do ANYTHING to get out of a nap. For the past three weeks that anything has been dropping a load in her pants. Late enough into nap that she's rested enough that I can't get her back down, but too early to get her through to bath time without a few tears.

We are finally going to lower the crib mattress this week. Is it even worth lowering to the middle setting or did you just lower it all the way? I can't remember what we did for A.

I actually only lowered it to the second for O and never to the bottom. He never tried to climb out so I left it there until he transitioned to a bed at 2. I just lowered to the same spot for E recently.

We lowered the crib straight to the bottom for B at about this age.
The movers assembled C's crib and set it on the middle height. It works and I appreciate not having to bend over quite as far, so I guess we'll just adjust it when needed.

STMs, when did your LO get their first haircut?

STMs, when did your LO get their first haircut? E's was either right before or after his first birthday; I can't remember which. It's really going to depend on how much hair he has or how fast its growing. Both my kids are/we're baldies. L still has almost no hair!

STMs, when did your LO get their first haircut? 20 months! Mainly because I didn't want him to lose his baby curls. But they came back.

STMs, when did your LO get their first haircut? DD hasn't. If she was a boy it probably would have been around 15 months based on hair length.

STMs, when did your LO get their first haircut? Lillian's was at 6 months to bring the bottom up since she had baby mullet. Then 10 months for a trim and stuff. She had pretty long hair though, unlike miss born half bald aka Lilah. 9 month old Lillian:

M could get her hair cut now to even the one side and front up, but we're waiting for her first birthday. It's a really weird texture right now. Half straight half curly. Interested to see what it turns into.

We got DS1's haircut when he was 14 months, I think. But he had a lot of hair. I think it'll be earlier for DS2

Thanks everyone! I don't think C really needs it yet but the hair around his ears is getting crazy and the very back is getting long. It is actually growing in like H's when he was a baby which I think is adorable. classymrsa wow that is a lot of hair!

Yeah these two may never need cuts at the rate we're going lol.
Question for STMs: I'm really starting to get focused on watching what I say and do in front of them (no swearing etc) and how things I say or do might play out or affect them that i later regret.
For example, I'm constantly saying "no" to them as they learn not to do certain things etc. . I try to do it in a nice voice and I've changed it to "na no please" and redirect them a hundred times.
We've focused on getting back to cleaner eating since they want to have everything on our plate. Phones not in our hands as much as possible.
What are some other things I might look back on and go "shit I should've thought that through".

STMs, when did your LO get their first haircut? C had his first cut at 3.5 months. But it was in his eyes and mouth (kid had INSANE hair) so it had to be done. H is nowhere near needing one. kleigh honestly I wouldn't put too much pressure on yourself here. I agree with the phone thing, it's soemthing I need to do better with myself, but as long as you are loving your kids and modeling the type of behaviour you want to see from them later, I really can't think of any "should haves"

classymrsa I've been staring at that picture way too long wondering where the other half of L's body is. At first, I thought your H's legs were hers then thought no that can't be right. Lol. I'm still trying to figure it where her legs are 😂

kleigh, not exactly what you are talking about, but I think its good for you and YH to be on the same page. So if you say no to something, he needs to back you up, at least in the moment. A few days ago DS1 brought a box of disney ornaments in from the garage asking me open them. I told him no because the ornaments aren't toys and I didn't want them to break. He immediately went to MH who was sitting right next to me and asked him to open the box. Instead of repeating what I said he said "ok, you can have one ornament" and opened the box for him. It really bothered me because I felt like its giving him the impression that what I say doesn't matter. It was just am ornament, but I still feel like we should both be on the same page and he should have backed up and told him no to the ornament.

jubilantsquirrel that would bother me as well. DH and I have had many chats over the years about being on the same page, consequences, and follow through (as he tends to give in a lot easier than I do and I have to be the bad guy all the time). He has gotten significantly better but any time he needs a reminder I definitely pull him aside and talk about it.

jubilantsquirrel I struggle with that as well. DH has a tendency to be more strict than me so we butt heads a lot and he tells B 'no' a lot more than I would. I know we need to be on the same page but I am having a hard time because there are times when I would not tell B no but my H does. And then he and I argue about it and it's just a mess.

This is me and MH. A few times I have stepped in, like the time MH was trying to confiscate W's watch because he was trying to wear it on his right wrist and refused to switch to the left. Like who gives a shit? Why were we fighting about that? That was probably the worst, usually it's not that OTT.

STMs, when did your LO get their first haircut? B's was around 11 months old. 😢 I've had to trim C's in a couple spots with manicure scissors but I'm not counting that as the official first cut.
