Vacuuming done for the day some of the bedding is getting washed now and I'm sitting enjoying a cup of coffee before we meet a friend of Isaac's in about 45 min. Rainy day here and cold for August. So we'll probably hit up an indoor playground this afternoon.
Ethan has started liking ice in his water cup. He helps me get the ice (our freezer is on the bottom). He just grabbed an ice cube, lifted his shirt, touched the ice cube to his belly and says "brrr cold" then giggled. Oh to be young again.

My neighbors are apparently having a gas line put in today. So much noise and I'm already having a hard time focusing on work this week. Construction noise added into the mix doesn't help at all.

I'm not caught up but how would a move affect your commute Betweenthelines?

Betweenthelines sounds like you are thinking through this. I also like how you are considering your kids feelings. Sure they are going. Sure they'll adjust but I just keep going to how much your families help you when you need it. Sure you manage fine without them but it's definitely nice having them to lean on. What happens if one of them gets sick and the nanny isn't free? You know? Unfortunately, even as it is now, if anyone gets sick I have to take off. H is the breadwinner and also doesn't have set vacation/sick time. But if there is an emergency or one of us has to leave mid day because of the kids, he has absolutely stepped up in an event like that, since he isn't dependent on a train or train schedule to get home.
I also am playing devils advocate with myself. If we do move, we can find sitters, we can find nannies, MOST of that family help can be replaced with sitters. And the trade off would be H being happy (hopefully), I would be happy with a bigger/more complete house, but IDK how happy I'll be with commute. It really depends all on where we'd end up. It could go either way really. Facckkkk.
I'm going to sit down later and write up an actual pros/cons list.

I'm not caught up but how would a move affect your commute Betweenthelines ? It really depends on the location. It could potentially shorten it, but the tradeoff would be I would probably be driving to work. Right now my commute is free, but it's about an hour each way. If we moved to the city it'd add time and money if I continued taking mass transit, or it could add more stress if I drove (driving in NYC traffic).

Apparently my H wants to kill me by heart attack. He put balloons in the downstairs bathroom and "forgot" to tell me about it. I opened the door and was attacked by them. Scared me at first.

I'm going to buy a new car this weekend! That is the plan at least. My 2006 Civic has been good to me but it's time to move on. I'm looking at new CRVs (either 2016 or 2017 but not preowned). My main concern is heated seats, I've never had a car with those and I'm such a cold weather wuss! Heated seats are a MUST for me. Sometimes I'll get in, turn on the heated seats and steering wheel and go. So quick to warm up. Splurge on it. Also, get it on the passenger seat too.

Long story short - we lived in a major city. I commuted 4 hours per day (eventually got a second apartment), BF commuted 5 mins. We moved to a smaller city near LOT of family. I now commute 2 hrs a day and BF commutes 3 hrs a day. It's only doable bc family is so close and helpful. This is why I suggest is it possible for you both to commute Betweenthelines?

45thparallel, we both already commute 2 hours a day each. If h took this new job, it'd add more time to his commute if we don't move. But depending on where we move it could lessen my commute, but most likely won't by much at all, but on the flip, it may not change the time but could add another expense to my commute.

Betweenthelines that's a tough spot. Maybe if it was more concrete of an option it could make the decisions and options clearer, I don't know. Damn, my responses are in line with yours in this haha

Betweenthelines, Having him go to the interview and find out some details won't hurt anyone. He might hate the people that he interviews with and it's a non-issue. OR he might like them, and then you have information to make an informed family decision.

I need to slow it down and just take the process as it comes. He hasn't heard back from the recruiter yet, so it's not even definite.
But still, the fact that it's out in the air now is making me spiral on all the what ifs

Holy cow, that's huge. armpants, sorry about your tumtum. May it get better. RunsforWineandCarbs, seriously, take the meds. It took a full week to get better when I did the same thing. easternshoregirl, YES TO HEATED SEATS!! I will never again not have heated seats. My bum deserves to be warm in the winter. Pizzaslut, I took a page out of your bedtime playbook. When E got up, I took her upstairs and held the door closed so she couldn't open it. So she went back to bed. Maybe there is hope? jedi, the ice story is adorable 45thparallel, see I can tag you with buttons. Can't spell, though. Anywhoodle, to that commute CestLaVie, come join me on the no sleep express.

Peekaru I'm in Mi but DH is from NYC and we have a bunch of family/friends in Queens & Brooklyn. We lived right over the CT border for awhile so that's the only reason I know anything haha.
