Can we start one of these?
This year I think I’m re-doing the kids bedrooms. DD has been spending more time in there since she turned 10, and DS needs a reason to sleep in his own bed. I’m buying 24inch smart TVs I found cheap on Amazon during their Black Friday sale. I think I’ll buy DD more age appropriate bedding. I found these super cute mini fridges that can hold a couple pop cans.
For DD: She’s into makeup and oversized hoodies. She’s teaching herself how to crochet.
For DS: He’s becoming a gamer. I think I’ll buy him a gaming chair. He’s become a huge football fan, so I may do some Bears gear even though they suck.
I was hoping to do more experience gifts, but my god, I can’t afford concert tickets or sporting event tickets. They’re insane.

Can I just say, how annoying it is to have a kid who will say "I like this and this" but everything specific relating to above things he says "nah, I don't like that". Kid. You're going to find nothing but scotch tape and cans of Pringles under the tree this year.
Why do kids love tape so much??

DS is getting a gaming PC. Need some little things but that is $$$$.
He's not asking for much- my aunt and cousins buy for him but all he is asking for is Lego, hoodies, a D&D book, and snacks (He's gotten Universal Yums a few times and loves it). I might get him a Google Nest for his room.

Kids: Lego 3-1 sets, dino stuffy for the younger one, little Blue Truck board books for my nephew who loves books. Thinking of getting a Lego table for my boys. Parents: They love travel, I got them the book Lonely Planet’s Where to Go When. Boyfriend is getting a free standing hammock. My sisters, brother, and all our respective partners do a secret Santa. I have my SIL, so I’m creating a cross stitch pattern with a cartoon version of their pet pig. I’m going to make a kit with thread, needs, a thread ripper, and a hoop to go with it. She recently expressed mild interest in trying cross stitch, and now she’s gonna pay for it 😂 He’s been eating acorns and ballooning in size, hence the caption.

12yo who never wants to leave his room is getting a smart speaker and wireless headphones so he can listen to music whenever he wants.
10yo sports nut is getting a new soccer duffle, a football, and a baseball sliding mitt.
DH who is a slight workaholic is getting a Keurig to go in his office.

SD needs new AirPods. Hoping the 4s go on sale somewhere. Otherwise she’ll get some gift cards for her college town. Probably some beauty/skincare gift set. I need to see if her snow boots are in good shape. Kids get boring as they get older.
DS will likely get the Hot Wheels garage. Walmart and Amazon already have it on sale. I’d rather spend my money with Target, but I’m not sure if it’s going any lower there. I could always price match, but #lazy. He also has a stack of activity books coming his way since that’s his new jam. One is a TSwift sticker puzzle book that he desperately wanted. Looks super fun.

H will be getting a Japanese blind box of snacks. Not sure what else, because his birthday is next week and I have exhausted all my ideas for that.
DS will likely be getting a lounge chair or loveseat for his room. We’re trying to age up the decor a little without doing anything permanent.
DD is getting a Bluey lounging mat and a stuffed octopus. Not sure what else. Maybe some silly slippers.
My mom is the toughest one and the only idea I have is a shutterfly album of the kids and a gift card.

Nothing exciting over here this here. Gifts get so boring after a certain age.
DH and I are replacing our couch.
DD wants a new Apple Watch and new converse high tops. I’m not sure on the watch yet but I got the shoes. She’s also getting a Sol de Janeiro set and a curling iron.
We also got symphony tickets to the brass spectacular as a family gift.

Joining the older kid/boring present club. In addition to clothes I think we are getting the 17 YO a tv and wall mount for his room; the 14YO has been asking about investing for awhile so we will open an account for him somewhere.

We are traveling for Christmas this year so H and I will not exchange any gifts. H and DS (15) are big skiers so ski equipment and passes are big gifts each year. DS plays baseball and is a catcher and all of his equipment reds to be replaced. That will set us back about $700.00 so…that’s it.

DS is getting a Lego Technic set and an eReader from us. Probably a nerf gun and modeling clay set from the grandparents. MH has asked for a new Judo Gi so he’s getting that. Nephew I have no idea, I need to ask my sister

DS1 (19) is getting some new sports ball game for the PS5, windbreakers to run in, new track spikes, and a pair of leather Birkenstocks
DS2 (12) gave us a huge list that I haven’t culled down yet. It includes Jordan 3 shoes, white crocs, a hard case for his guitar, a couple albums, a couple bobble heads, grey Nike socks, the newest Mina Lima Harry Potter book, a couple switch games, beats headphones, new reeds and cleaning stuff for his saxophone
DH will find some obscure collectible sports or Beatles thing, buy it for himself, and tell me to wrap it
I want new tennis shoes, a big coffee mug, and new comfy work pants.
Stocking suffers - travel shampoo and soap bottles for DS1, socks and/or underwear for the boys, Reese’s trees, skittle or nerds, pura Vida bracelet for DS2, some sort of craft or puzzle for each of them, a family game

DS, 10: new bike, Stitch Lego set, wrestling ring for action figures, Big E action figure, WWE War Games ring accessories, his ear pierced.
DD, 13: new bike, Sephora stuff.
We have always set really strict Xmas budgets, so we give DD a dollar amount and she sends links up to the amount. We will do the same once DS knows about Santa.

Dd is asking for an Apple Watch and said that’s all she is asking for since she knows it’s expensive.
So she is getting that. I already have a few games she wants and some graphic tees too. I’ll probably get some more clothes and she is into makeup/skin care that I’ll grab

New couch here too. DS suplexed our current couch into oblivion. Gets delivered Wednesday. I am psyched, I crowd sourced recs and I got at least 15 recs for the couch we wound up getting.

Add to it that the catcher is ALWAYS the last one out of the dugout is like adding insult to injury lol Absolutely. DS had his first year of baseball with a “catcher” (still coach pitch but they made the catcher wear gear). Those poor 6 and 7 yos. So many parent coaches didn’t know how to help. They’d be at least one batter into the inning before the catcher made it out to the plate.

DD(14) wants a lot of expensive stuff, so I’m trying to figure out her top items. She knows she won’t get everything. I already ordered the Birkenstock clogs, which is at the top of her list. Probably also a North Face jacket and then some smaller stuff.
DS(10): He really needs a new bike, but that might wait for his birthday depending on what else he wants. His list has been all over the place.
H: Says he doesn’t want anything, but I think I’m getting him a heated throw blanket. He is always cold. I’ll probably get the kids each one, too.

Cool wireless controller. Rechargeable batteries for controller. Charging stand for controllers. Gamer neon sign for his room. Glow in the dark gamer blanket. I know people might have something to say but I have bought tickets using afterpay for my kids. It has allowed me to send them to concerts I would not normally be able to.

We have too much tied up in the restaurant, so Christmas will be a little light. H and I don't usually exchange anything. I ordered everything today and stayed under $150 for both and will figure out stocking stuffers closer to Christmas.
DD (11) - a new oversized hoodie blanket, Sol de Janeiro set, an initial necklace and earrings and a crochet kit DS (9) - a new onesie, a light-up football, a soccer training leash and a Clue escape game
Nothing super exciting. DD also is going to a dance convention in April, so she's getting mostly $$ from everyone else to help pay for it and her incidentals while shes there.

DD (9)- really wants a phone (lol for days) but DH has an old phone we can repurpose for WiFi/game/texting use so I think we’ll get a case for it and call that done, a basic kindle, ballet flats, and a skin care set.
DD (11)- Ugg slippers, headphones, art supplies, and skin care stuff.
For stockings I have a notebook, bookmark, scrunchies for both. I’ll probably do some chapstick and candy.

DD13: a guitar, and a flower Lego set. I’ll get her a couple more things but the only thing she’s asked for is a new iPhone but lol no she’s been sentenced to a bark phone for the foreseeable future
DS4: bronco power wheels, matchbox cars city sets, toy Cybertruck (omg he’s been asking for this for so long, I was hoping he’d forget… but no), camera, a couple books
DS1: a couple little people sets, some books, busy board, airplane toy
The older girls are hard. They’re both in college so I think I’m just gonna get them one thing like a necklace and then give them cash 🤷♀️

The twins are doing drivers ed and we managed to acquire two very used vehicles from family members. For Christmas I think they'll each receive some car basics - ice scraper, driving gloves, maybe car wash certificates. Based on the age of the cars they'll each need those cigarette lighter type adapters for their phone chargers.

We like to give a little something to the aunts so I'm thinking we'll attempt a DIY project with DD's Cricut and flour sack towels.

I have fancy rechargeable toothbrushes for everyone that I bought with Dh's medicare advantage OTC $140 a quarter. We'd already bought alllllll the normal otc stuff plus knee brace, cane, hand rails to get in/out tub and things like that and have to use the $ before end of year.
Then there's cookbooks that are like my favorite old 1980s one for each of the girl folks. then I want to get something else for them but deciding what exactly? Maybe a really nice sweater and a hair clipy thing? They are both allergic to most jewelry, so their stocking gift will be at least some earring condoms so they can wear cheaper earrings. They both need new shoes for standing all day on feet at work but not sure if that will happen.
Oldest needs some nice shoes, he's got comfy nursing shoes to wear at the hospital but his daily wear shoes need new soles. Maybe a new belt. He went shopping in dh's closet as my husband has more clothes than any guy I know so he's set for jeans, sweaters and button up shirts for a bit.
I have socks for all the guys and girls for their stockings cause they exclaim that socks are too expensive.
I'm hoping youngest son will do/say/share something that maybe could get for him. He will be moving locations from his sabbatical/homes shared house to another place right after xmas. So he needs not really any stuff to have to move. He mentioned needing maybe new of stuff he already has but I have to get clarification does that mean like a new frying pan or new pants or what?
