Morning.
45 minute interval run with Becs and a 5 minute stretch with Camila. My IT band is tugging at the side of my left knee, so I took it much slower than I wanted to and could have. Doing the yoga class I always do when my IT band is cranky tonight.
Food back on track today.

I am here. I only went to the gym once on vacation. And ate so much food. I’m easing back in now. CD1 today, squeezed in a 30 min run. Finally put in the new shoes I bought like 6 weeks ago.

I haven’t checked in for a few days. Friday was 6 miles and then out to a fancy early birthday dinner. Yesterday was 4 miles. Today was my 11 mile long run. It was my first run in a while that just really sucked. I had to take a couple of walk breaks in there to bring my heart rate down. I think it was a combination of the wind and taking a hillier route than normal. I think I’m going to try to go that way once a week on one of my 6 mile runs because I really do need more hills. My usual route has like 150ft of elevation gain and this way was 375. Which is probably still not that much. Wisconsin is pretty flat 😅

bunnyfungo I hear ya on the hills. If I run from home my elevation gain is like 15 ft. Lol. The local hills intimidate me big time. 😬 ( like BIG dune hills)

Hi friends! I haven’t checked in in a while because I’ve been boring and chugging along, but yesterday I ran a half in under two hours and broke my Apple Watch records for a 5k and a sub one hour 10k. I did the peloton road to half marathon program and it was so wonderful. The training paid off and I’m super proud! I even sent Susie Chan a DM about it and she wrote me back! I died and went to running nerd heaven.
Now to figure out next year’s plan, I want to run a race a month (5ks, 10ks, whatever) as a fun challenge. I’m in the best running shape of my life and it’s such a rush.

I am back! I had an eye procedure and was told I couldn't exercise for 2 weeks. I did go on some walks with my weighted vest and did a bit of core but at 2 weeks I still felt the stitches around my eye and didn't feel like I should get my heart rate too high. Started to feel better last week and did a few peloton rides + core. Returned to body pump Saturday after 3 weeks off and omg. I could barely walk Sunday. So if I ever doubted the effectiveness of that workout, I won't again. I did a strength and development class yesterday and back to body pump this am. Felt great to lift weights and I should be able to go every day this week before another week off due to traveling. I need to catch up on this thread!

Tonight was supposed to be 6 miles but I tapped out after a little over 5 miles because of the freezing rain. Well, actually it had more to do with landing in a particularly ice cold puddle and being close to my house when I hit 5 lol. It’s supposed to be like this tomorrow too and that’s usually my speed work day so….idk how that will go.

I did it- I finally bought new shoes. I'm not thrilled with the color but it was the best option in my size. I named them Minty Fresh for the color along the side. Anyway, I took them for an 9.5 mile run on Sunday; 8 miles by myself and then, since my kid had wanted to ride her bike with me while I ran, I went back out with her to the local playground. Would have ended up with 11 miles, but mh drove up to the playground after he got some stuff done so I wouldn't have to run home. Honestly though, it was kind of nice to go home and have a little coffee and a cookie and then run some more. 10/10. I've worn nothing but stability shoes since I took up running back in like 2013 or 14. But over the summer there was a group run w/ Asics and I got to try out the novablast and liked them quite a lot (and the base gives enough stability that I don't overpronate much). I am thinking about getting a new pair of saucony guides to rotate with though, since I'm going to retire my old ones and all I'll have left is the really flat NBs.

Hello.
Yesterday I slept, then had to really talk myself into an after school workout. Just, ugh. I did a 20 minute run, a 10 minute upper body strength, and a stretch.
This morning I rolled out of bed. Kind of later, but I got up. I did a 30 minute run with Olivia, a 10 minute run with Erik, and a stretch. That's it for today.
Food has been on point yesterday and today.

My last week of training was ok, just kind of hit walls fast and hard. Maybe from recovering, maybe from lack of being able to hit my volume work for multiple months.
Last night's squats went great. Hit a PR double at decent depth. Then a PR triple on a slightly narrow grip bench. Pain in my toe is mostly gone.
Hey I might not totally suck at this meet.
Eating has been better. Weight trend is finally starting to go down.

4km run for me, usually on Tuesdays I tag on an additional 5k while my kids swim but it’s pouring cold rain and I’m hiding out inside (already cold and wet) instead 😂

I got a double workout in today. I have two classes that I really love and hope it's "fine" that I do them both, basically back to back? One is a yoga/HIIT/strength class with a mace. Then 1 hour later I take a new Les Mills weightlifting class called Strength Development. Needless to say I'm whipped, in a good way It's a 500 calorie burn which is abt the max I can do. Food has been good and I need to share a great, high protein banana pudding recipe my dd and I came up with. (I'm sure I copied it from someone) Blend cottage cheese (a full tub minus a serving) + 1 ripe banana + 2 scoops vanilla protein powder + 1 tsp vanilla + 1 tsp cinnamon + ~1 tsp maple syrup (or honey or whatever sweetener of your choice.) It all fits back in the tub perfectly. I top with extra dark choc chips. It really is delicious.

Managed to get in 8.5 miles worth of speed work before the rain and before the sun went down! I did a 2 mile warm up, 8 x 600m at 5k pace (averaged 8:39/mile), 400m jog between each, and a 1.5 mile cool down. Overall got the whole thing done in less than an hour and a half. Idk why that many miles feels easier somehow that on long run day. Maybe I should run my next half as an interval workout 🤣

30 min sprint spin + body pump. It's my dad's bday and we're going out tonight to one of my fav restaurants in our city. Plan is to keep drinking in check which is easier to do on a weeknight. fx. Happy hump day!

I got in a 20 minute recovery run yesterday and a long stretch and my legs finally feel normal again. Downhill is a beast! Back at it today, although I set weekly vs daily goals these days. So the goal for the rest of the week is three runs (two 45, one 60, all easy this week) and two strength sessions (upper body while I let myself recover).
