I'm deep in school shopping right now. Glue sticks 30 pack is marked down right now www.amazon.com/dp/B000VXO4L2Anyone have a good, reading light? My boys share rooms, my oldest needs something to stay up and read. We have tried a few different things and they either drain batteries or get hot (desk lamp). He didn't like a light that attaches to his book either. DS1 has like 4 reading lights because he keeps "losing" them at his dad's 🤨 but 3 of them are the bendy arm ones that have a clip for the book at the bottom BUT, he doesn't usually clip them, one has a big enough clip base that he just stands it up on his night table. I'll have to see if I can find a link. the most recent one I got is like a flat ish one and is definitely his least favorite because it doesn't stand on its own and has a smaller lighted area. ETA his favorite isn't available any more, but we've never had an issue with the rechargeable ones and I swear the batteries last forever.

melohdy, we love SET - it's a great game to just lay out on the table and work on, like a jigsaw puzzle. BUT, colorblind H cannot play at all, the colors are too similar for him. SET is great for all ages. And solo play. SD taught DS and both of them will get it out to fiddle with when they’re bored. I could see colorblindness making it tricky, though!

Is it a clip with a gooseneck and then the light? Maybe I need something like his desk light but rechargeable.

This is one version he has but always complains about it because the buttons on the clip part are really sensitive. The one he uses most has the buttons on the light part, not the clip part. a.co/d/hxS8s0O

clucky not exactly a reading light, but my dad loved these for reading! It clips on to the bill of a baseball cap. Rechargeable and different light settings. My dad swore they were the best as he could lay there and read without anything obstructing the light or cumbersome on the book. That is if you're okay with your kid wearing a hat in bed for a bit. a.co/d/8ZXqR1R He is already in headgear, so why not add a reading hat. I am going to save these suggestions and see what he thinks he would like to try next.

I am going to save these suggestions and see what he thinks he would like to try next. They also have lights that are basically a gooseneck with lights at each end, and they go around your neck. I read on my Kindle that is pre-lit, but when I can't find a kindle version of a book and have to get the physical book, I like the neck light better than ones that clip on the book. Also, my favorite reading lamps (which I would use if dh wasn't trying to sleep) have been just regular small lamps I found at goodwill. I had trouble finding a small, traditional ceramic lamp that takes a regular light bulb when I was looking.

cluckyI like this alarm which offers a soft light - can adjust brightness and set a sleep timer. I bought it because of the gradual wake up feature (light/noise) but also like the light for reading in bed. Wake Up light alarmI also like this neck light: Glucosent book light

Maybe I’ll save it as a yay your braces are off gift. We found a set of little puck light with a magnetic mount. Bonus is that his roommate brother can use the other. The younger one tends to keep all the things in his head, so it mounting will be perfect. If they don’t like them, I will just repurpose them for the stairs at night.

For fun games, micro macro is different and lots of fun. It's sorta of Where's Waldo-y, but you're solving crimes. It's not entirely appropriate for kids, but H and I kinda pick which cases are ok for them and which we skip when they're around.

My 18 yo will be moving into dorms this fall. Yes, exactly what you picture when I say dorms. Twin beds lofted with a desk and dresser and teeny closet. His roommate has a mini fridge. They can’t have microwaves but do have a full size kitchen in the basement of the dorm they can use. I know we need twin xl sheets, some sort of Dustbuster/mini vacuum, ideas for how to store snack food. (He has a generous meal plan with three meals on weekdays and two on weekends, but cafeterias close at 8. So I can see him wanting snacks for later evenings and maybe easy breakfast stuff for sleep in days.) We have shower shoes and caddy already. And laundry stuff. Any other suggestions for must have stuff from those who have sent a kid or stayed in a dorm more recently than the late 90s? A good mattress pad, the cart we got you could store items in it, magnetic hooks, Snacks could be stored in pull out drawers. Links for a few I found: mattresshooks cart storageI have a girl that's really picky so she had extra items compared to what her BF ended up taking to college.

I just saw that my Ouai conditioner is 20% off. That never goes on sale so I’m grabbing a couple large refills. I love this conditioner and can see a difference in how smooth my hair is when I use it. It also smells really good and I get a lot of compliments on how nice I smell. I don’t wear perfume so it must be my hair.
I also noticed that the shin guards DS wears for soccer are 20% off so I’m getting another pair. The more I have to rotate in when he plays 4-5 days a week, the better!

I definitely clicking on the Deals on your past purchases. In my app it is on the home page on the left. There you can really tell if it is a deal or not since you’ve bought it before. I don’t need them now but some of our essentials, like garbage bags, are at a discount.
On some of the lighting deals they definitely overstate the regular price.

I ended up with an office chair for home, a handvac for B, “silk” pillowcases, bath color tabs we go through like water itself, and a candle warmer. DH only knows about the vacuum…

Our garbage bags are also on sale And my foundation, which I do actually need. My purchases so far have not been exciting. A bug zapper, multipacks of underwear for DS and DD, and some BioOil. I also ordered a three pack of hair towels for $8 to replace the ones where the elastic has given out - and so we have extra for when we travel.

If anyone needs a good book series for their kid, the full four pack of Wayside School is only $14 right now. Those are DD1s absolute favorite books!

I'm assuming you mean like those wraps with the loop? Because that's what I use and I only have one left that's like 10 years old and I was cussing at thr elastic loop last night when it kept loosening too much and the whole wrap falling over 🤨

I mean, at $8 for three towels - I'm not going to feel too guilty for enabling you I have drawers full of things that were much more $$$ that you've all talked me into
