I can’t believe May is Wednesday
We had a great weekend. I got baby snuggles on Saturday and read most of the day yesterday until we cooked out. I love Spring/Summer weekends

I just sent the 3 (almost 4!) year old to school with his invitations for his first party with school friends at a park. Of course I’m terrified nobody will show up 😥I’d much prefer to do something with just family because that’s who I am as a person lol

DH and I celebrated our 16th anniversary on Friday. Feels both shorter and longer, if I'm being honest.

Our air isn't working right, so I get to have them out tomorrow and see how much of a fortune I get to spend. Wheeeeeeeee.

My company has been going down down down, in the news a lot over the past 4 months with endless rounds of layoffs, contract breeches, product buyouts, etc. We just found out about more layoffs that took place last Friday. I think we've gone from like 600 to 150 and I am shocked I've even made the cut at this point. What stinks is that my previous 2 jobs were both layoffs due to overseas outsourcing so if I get laid off it will be 3 in a row!! I've been applying but as everyone knows, it's just so competitive these days between the hundreds of applicants and ghost job postings.

I have to pick a new roof color and I’m having decision paralysis. The samples that they give you are the tiniest things and it’s impossible to tell what the color will actually look like. I’ve driven around to look at other houses but I still have no idea what to pick. Adult things are so lame, lol.
On the bright side, I have a banana chocolate chip bread baking in the oven and it smells delicious. I’m going to have a warm piece with coffee when it’s done and I can’t wait.

As much as I would love to continue that tradition, I think we will try a different bakery 💩

I can tell him what I definitely don't want, but then I lose interest pretty quickly. One thing that he keeps reminding me about is that the color will fade over time.

My goal for May is to not have to spend $1000+ on some stupid, unexpected, adult thing. Literally EVERY MONTH this year I've had something pop up and I'm so over being an adult. Only 23 days left of school which is blowing my mind as well.

My enthusiasm for a recent step challenge has given me a self diagnosed case of plantar fasciitis. I would like my body to stop falling apart.

Unfortunately I don't see it ending this month, maybe June 🤞

DS2 and I planted some pea and bean seeds. We usually have a little success but he was crazy with the amount of seeds he dropped in each spot so I have some thinning to do once they sprout.
It’s been so gorgeous here! We’ve spent the day outside. We have DS1’s volleyball game later.

Today is MH's birthday. I got a last minute extra day off this week, today, so that's a nice birthday present to him since it meant I could get DS up and off to daycare for him lol. We had a nice lunch out and I bought a couple big slices of cake at HEB for us to have later with DS.

We are all getting shitty sleep lately thanks to DS's recurring nightmares. I don't know what else to do with him, but dude has to be able to stay in his own bed. He's supposed to have his first baseball game tonight. I'm hoping it's rained out since he's probably a zombie right now.

It’s so much stupid money and it’s permanent.

I cannot fathom. We did ours last year, and our roofer had a tool where you uploaded a picture of your house to their website and then you could 'try out' all the roof colors on your house to see what it looked like, and I lost hours to that, and then screenshot my favorites and my my bff help me pick (dh had minimal input). I also drove around looking at other houses for like a week before doing that (which helped me narrow it down a bit at least). But I can honestly say now that it really hasn't mattered and once I picked I didn't even really notice or care what the finished product looked like.

We did our roof, siding, and windows last year. DH tried to make it a long decision process, but I had already decided what basic color I wanted the house, so then I made quick work of the rest and used the contractor to back me up on that my choices looked good.

We got our roof redone last summer and just used the same color. It’s fine. But then our next door neighbor redid theirs and switched to a dark red shingle, and it looks SO good. I’m jealous every time I look at their house.

I am over 40. I have bilateral ear infections right now.
I was laughing at Urgent Care trying to describe what was wrong. The nurse asked why I was laughing. “Because I feel like a four year old…”
Anyway. I can’t wear ear buds and am rocking some new Beats today.

Different roof colors but it doesn’t seem to be helping me. I’m annoyed at spending this much money on a stupid roof so I feel like I’m putting pressure on myself to make sure it’s the perfect color. I realize how silly that sounds though.

Welp, my practice was purchased by a company 3 year ago and they just told us they are shutting us down. We can go back to independent or to one of the hospitals. But ugh...
