wasabi your boys are me. I know the minute the power goes out at night because my fan kicks off and I snap awake. Yeah the silence totally woke me up too

Our power has been out since about 2am. We have two boys who are very reliant on white noise machines and starry night lights to sleep, lol😭 I’m actually at work now, very tired, hoping they’re letting SO sleep. I did learn how to manually open the garage door so yay me. The most annoying part was hearing all my smart neighbors’ generators running 😂 thought we’d have one by now but it keeps getting put off. Womp. That sucks; I hope you get power back soon. We have a small generator that can keep the fridges running and a couple of lights and outlets, but not a full house generator. It saved us from having to toss everything in the freezer last August when we lost power for several days, but my whole family went up to my office to cool down because it definitely cannot keep our a/c running. Oh, we did have internet, too, which was also helpful.

My girls have their dance recitals next weekend. I appreciate that their studio breaks it up into three different recitals, but of course my daughters don't have the same recital time. They sent home the recital schedules yesterday, and DD1 is in 1 dance routine out of 29. We have to sit through TWENTY-EIGHT routines to watch hers. In addition to DD2's recital. I'm super excited.

That’s really mostly what I care to power, internet would definitely be nice because our phone service sucks at our house.

Both have dress rehearsals tonight, so we'll be there from 4:15-7:15 and then next week DD is in T/W/TH and DS is in T/Th and wants to go on Wednesday to watch. I will be a zombie by Friday morning. We may just call in sick and stay home.

Today's our 37th wedding anniversary. Unfortunately I got another steroid injection in my piriformis butt muscle so we aren't planning to do much except maybe get Chinese food. Can't believe I've been with this man for so very long. Some days it's less believable than others. Lol

MH and I were talking the other day and he was like "WOW, I can't believe it's been so many years....doesn't feel like it. ..." I said: "yes, yes it does. I have felt every year." It just flew out my mouth before I knew it.

Can’t you just pop out when their dance is done? Or show up halfway through if her one dance is at the end? Idk that I’d have it in me to sit for 28 routines.

We made it everyone! It's Friday. I have terrible cramps and am $872 poorer thanks to my car's AC going out, but it's Friday so I can't complain too much.

I sat through 5 (three rounds of each) in the hour that I was there for rehersals last night...I wasn't even there for the 4 different dances DD is doing.
It's going to be a long week.

Plus, I think they keep the girls in rooms behind the stage when they're not performing. It will be fine; I'm just glad this studio only does recitals every other year.

Also I just looked at my calendar and between when school lets out in June and starts again in August there are only 4 Saturdays where we don't have something planned. 2 I work, 2 my H works, one we're all away, and two DS will be away. I feel like summer's over already.

I'd reallllly like something with a third row but it's just not in the cards. I have a sedan now and when we travel it's hard getting all our stuff plus the dogs, so I'm looking for at least a little more cargo space for now. I'm looking at small crossovers, I think: Toyota Carolla Cross, Hyundai Tucson, and the Mazda cx-30 are currently on my list. My mechanic H has narrowed down those brands for me to look at. We're starting tomorrow at his toyota dealership. I'm crunching numbers and my expectations for a monthly payment are way off- it's been like 6 years since we've had a car payment so I am in for a shock, I think.

Their CRV and Pilot are nice. I think they have a new one between those too. Passover maybe? And they keep their value. The Tucson is the best out of the 3 you listed if that helps you any. That’s just from my research when I got my car 2.5 years ago. And for sure the 200/300 car payments are gone 😭😭😭

Since he'll be doing the maintenance on it I am deferring to him. I have not driven any of the three I'm considering yet and I am guessing there won't be one that ticks all my boxes so I'm just going to look tomorrow and see. I was hoping H would get a discount at his dealership but it doesn't seem like it. If he did, it would make my decision a lot easier!

I originally was going to do the Tucson but at the time they weren’t in stock like they are now and we wanted a new car before winter so h could take my old one and use it as a winter car ( we are trying to keep his nice for dd). And the salesman was not great to work with so we left there and went to our tried and true Honda dealership. I ended up switching back to a sedan and got an accord. It was an amazing deal and surprisingly roomy.
