My least favorite genres tend to be heterosexual romance and general literary fiction. But I will read a few in both genres at times.
Actually my least favorite are self help type books. It has to be a subject I really identify with to keep my interest.

Ok, Watching You by Lisa Jewell was solid. She rarely disappoints, and this one was great.

I didnโt participate last month but I was still reading. I read 13 books last month.
Our state (CT) is doing a passport to the library program so weโve been visiting different libraries to get our โpassportsโ stamped. My son and I have checked out so many graphic novels/mangas ๐ Weโll see how many we can finish over break.
Currently trying to finish listening to Cleat Cute by Meryl Wilsner. I like it but havenโt had much time to listen and itโs due tomorrow on Libby.

Well for those historical fiction fans, and even those of you that say you like to read books with a mystery/who did it theme, I HIGHLY recommend The Frozen River by Ariel Lawhon. It was a BOTM pick a few months back. My good reader friend raved about it so Iโve been looking forward to reading it. She said she liked it as much as The Women. I still havenโt read that (although I will be reading that later this month), but I definitely recommend this one. So good! It was very comparable to Kristin Hannah IMO, but not as rip your heart out devastating, just very well written.

Iโm finally 1/3 of the way through empire of the vampire. Itโs picking up so itโs going faster now. Iโm going to try and get through more of it today.

I finished Good Half Gone. I wasnโt happy with the end and I basically guessed everything
She is hit or miss for me.
I started Just for the summer and Iโm enjoying it. I love the characters already and relate to Emma and the mom stuff

I finished two books this weekend - Liar's Knot (amazing) and Interesting Facts About Space by Emily Austin, which I got from a BOTM gift subscription. It was good, very quick read (especially compared to the huge fantasy books I've been reading lol) - it's about Enid, who is obsessed with true crime and outer space, dealing with new relationships and growing paranoia about bald men who may or may not be trying to break into her apartment. I need to sit with it a little longer but probably clocking in at 3 stars for me. Maybe 3.5.
Up next is The Fox Wife by Yangsze Choo, another BOTM selection.

I dnf'd How to Plot a Payback by Melissa Ferguson after about 50%. I think it was supposed to be a slow burn enemies to lovers but it was all slow and no burn. I was annoyed by the characters and bored.
Earlier this month I read Don't Believe It by Charlie Donlea. Wasn't my favorite of his but I gave it 3.5 stars.
I also finished The Heiress by Rachel Hawkins and enjoyed it more than most of her previous books I've read. 4 stars
Most recently finished She's Not Sorry by Mary Kubica and really enjoyed it! 4.5 stars.
Now I'm starting This Wretched Valley and just realized I only have 2 days left for The Stranger by Kiersten Modglin so I need to try to get that one done.

The only genre I would never read is smutty romance. Romance isnโt really my thing anyway but reading detailed sex scenes makes me cringe. Iโm feeling attacked lol. My least favorite genre is probably cozy mystery. But Iโll read pretty much anything. Recent reads were the latest J.D. Robb. Pretty much a letdown. I also read The Soulmate and hated it.

I finished Assassin's Blade by Sarah Maas. I enjoyed it more than the first TOG book. One thing I do like about the main character is that she fits what I would expect of an 17/18 year old, ha. I gave it 3 stars.

I had a lot of the day yesterday to read though and I think Iโm on page 160. This one I feel is more a character book vs a character and plot like she usually does. I saw her on GMA Saturday and she talked about how this one was one she is most proud of and she had several specialists read it

Iโm almost done listening to Beyond the Wand by Tom Felton and itโs been SO lovely. I want the entire cast of HP to put out their own memoirs immediately.

I legit cried towards the end. Same here! I finished this afternoon. I had no idea he went through that. I donโt know if he wrote it or a ghost writer, but regardless, it was so well done. I love his added on part after the book was released, full of stories of people meeting him and confusing him with other celebrities. I was laughing.

I donโt know if he wrote it or a ghost writer, but regardless, it was so well done I went to a panel at LeakyCon last year where he was speaking. He said he wrote it himself. I say based on the length of the book and the writing style, I think he didnโt have a ghost writer. I also got to meet him. He is incredibly nice.

Freida McFadden The Teacher. ...yikes. I should have read the comments about it here before even picking it up.
Heaven and Earth Grocery Store just became available. Looking forward to this one.
Prior to The Teacher I just finished Good Bad Girl, Alice Feeney and The Hunting Party, Lucy Foley and First Lie Wins, all were pretty solid.

I took half an hour to read outside yesterday afternoon and it was good for my soul. I'm in the office today but think I might need to go sit outside at lunch and do the same thing.

I started listening to Any Man by Amber Tamblyn on spotify. I keep hearing about it on book tok.
I'm....having a hard time with it. It is not what I expected at all. Maybe it'll pick up? It's only like 4.5 hours so I'll probably stick it out
I just hate when you've heard about something forever and then feel let down when you finally get to read/listen to it. Blah

Does it delve in any deeper into things or is the whole book written in the same way? I only get so many free hours so I'm fine with DNF lol

The stories jump chapter to chapter as well, so you really have to pay attention and parse through whatโs been happening.
