Oh I need some specific bag advice. We’re going to Disney and Universal next month for the first time and I have no idea what kind of bag I need. Like do I need a backpack or just a belt bag? Kids are 14 and 9 so I don’t need to carry stuff for them. But I don’t know what I really even need to bring in the parks. The whole trip is stressing me out. For Universal (we go this Friday), some of the rides require you use their complimentary lockers, and the lockers don't fit a full-sized backpack. You are better off with a belt bag for there (more rides allow you to keep your bag if it secures around the waist apparently). But we are bringing refillable water bottles, so one of us at least needs a bigger bag, so we're bringing one that is the size of a drawstring backpack, but that has actual slightly padded straps.

I also want the Mansur Gavriel lady bag. The larger one. I might add that to the list too. I have the original Lady and love it.

This is my current fav work bag. I saw an influencer recommend it, and I really love the thick strap, and the removable insert that has many compartments. There is also a luggage sleeve for when you travel with it. I highly recommend this bag. link - Calpak Haven laptop tote bag

My husband carried a backpack (water bottles, sunblock, band aids, ponchos, chapstick, sunglass cases) so all I had was a tiny fanny pack big enough for just my phone

Right now I’m mostly using my Demellier Venice in burgundy. I also use my Cambridge Satchel Company doctor bag, but it’s large so I reach for it less. My latest bag crush is the Sezane Claude, in blue. I really love the clasp,

Yessss fb, love it. I’ve been using mine non stop since I got it a few months ago, it’s such a great bag - versatile and goes with everything and holds so much.

I’d been on the hunt for the perfect vintage coach bag (I buy leather second hand, ideally) and finally the one I was looking for came up on eBay. I was being picky about condition and color. It’s the 4923, Sonoma. Can be worn shoulder or crossbody. It’s not fancy, but I’ll wear the fuck out of it as an everyday bag:

Got it in this nice dark green.

Does anyone sell their used bags? If so, I’d be interested to hear what sites you really like to use. I have looked at Poshmark but it seems too confusing and I live in a relatively small city in Ontario so Facebook Marketplace and other sites don’t really prove successful, and we don’t have consignment shops (closest would be Toronto 2.5 hours away).

I haven’t heard of this shop before which surprises me since it’s so close. Thank you! I will contact them about consigning.

For most of the year I carried my Cuyana double loop. It’s just the perfect size and I love the pockets it has. Recently I’ve gone back to my Polene Un and get so many compliments.

I am actually carrying my neverfull at the moment, which I never carry out of a combination of it being heavy and too common. But I started to feel bad about acquiring it and then just letting it sit. It’s not as heavy as I remember and it’s come in handy for some projects and board meetings lately.
I didn’t buy too many bags in 2023, and I did a good job of using the ones I already own (aside from the neverfull which I’ve busted out now). I got the Goyard, and I used it a TON in 2023 as it’s light weight and versatile. And I got the vintage Aigner which I’ve only carried once as I don’t want to damage it. I’ve used that more as a display piece.
I’m not shopping for anything new at the moment but I’ll be following the thread!

My most carried bag is my MZ Wallace belt bag- I got the medium size- metro sling and I love it. I have to remind myself to switch out in the evening and for social events. It hold the perfect amount (for me) and is just really easy. I bought it for a Europe trip and it was perfect. My second most carried bag is probably my YSL camera bag. I've had it for several years and still reach for it. I'm pretty content with my bags right now. I bought the Calpak luka duffle to replace my carryon and it's okay. I kind of want to trade it in for the MZ wallace tote but I don't like being so matchy-matchy. So glad you started this thread! It's always a favorite of mine!

My most used bags of 2023 were my coach dempsey tote (for work) and lululemon belt bag for my essentials. I have a large one so I can even fit in a water bottle and snacks. I'm not on the lookout right now, but we are going to Disney in June so I think I'm going to grab a water bottle holder like the one brux shared and maybe a smaller backpack. The one I have is large and I'm not sure I'll need it for the days at the park.

On the rare occasions that I carry a large bag, I have this tote from Able that I got for my birthday 5 years ago: www.ableclothing.com/products/abera-crossbody-totePre covid I used the hell out of it.

I came across a new bag company through a sustainable clothes designer I appreciate. www.parkerclay.com/Parker Clay, apologies if you've heard of them, if so you can ignore. But ughhh, for those who love the Portland Leather Company. check these out. They look magnificent. And then their commitment to empowering women, I'm sold. I think I need the bucket bag like yesterday!!

If you were to get a Chloe Marcie double carry bag, would you go with small or medium?

If you were to get a Chloe Marcie double carry bag, would you go with small or medium? I have it in the small and it is plenty big for me. I think the medium would’ve been too empty and floppy.

I just tried the Cuyana Easy Tote bag in the mini. I thought it was really cute, but it was too small for my essentials (I could have maybe made it work, but the leather is really soft and it showed every lump and bump in the bag). The small easy tote looks huge! I wish there was something in between them.

That’s interesting about the lawsuit. I know in my boring industry, insurance, there are states that make tie in sales illegal. In those states, we can’t require a customer purchase say, a home policy, if they don’t buy an auto policy.

I hate June. My uncle died Tuesday. Tomorrow is the 5 year anniversary of of dad's death. Fuck June. So I bought 3 bags. Cheap ones from Amazon, but they all look super cute. Will review once here. The Epcot ball looking one is the only I have seen in person and I literally stopped someone to ask where they got that bag.
