Still going strong.
We ended up pulling carpeting out of one bedroom last night. It’s amazing how projects just get started when you don’t think about drinking or feel required to party on NYE.

Turns out the reason I was going to have a drink today is no longer there (out to lunch at a wine place). So I guess I’ll start today.

Checking in. Wasn’t good to myself in 2023- so making some changes and doing some reflection-all of which would benefit from at least 30 days of sobriety.
Thanks for having me!

I’m joining this year. Amount of beer I’ve been drinking has been creeping back up so I’m taking a break again. Except for my birthday.

Oh man. Our friends were so drunk last night and we were so content with our non drinking choices. We did have some THC but nothing crazy.
My SIL bought me a few Mocktails in a can from Trader Joe’s and I had one called “something spritzy” to toast at east coast new years. It was perfect and tasted like more than just sparkling soda.

I'm here. My birthday is in a couple of weeks but other than that I'm planning on not drinking this month. Up until the holidays I had cut back quite a bit and want to get back in those habits. Better for my health and my budget.

Hi! I'm back as I want to be more conscientious again about my drinking. Mostly I want to drop down to special occasions and vacations only.

I need to be here. It's been almost daily drinking (usually 1 or 2, with more on some weekends) for a couple of months and I need to get my act together. My goal is no drinking except for the couple times a month I meet up with my neighbors, or maybe a glass of wine on the weekend. I don't have any events in January so I shouldn't have any excuses.

I'm here! I'm not too thrilled with how I did in 2023, especially the last part of it. Unfortunately, 2024 holds some major anxiety and stress for me regarding my job ending in Nov, so I really want to cut back and focus on my health, both mentally and physically. Definitely doing dry Jan and I hope to be able to do some reflection during this time.

I drank way more this fall than I ever have in my life (I was never a big drinker). Come to think of it, this is likely related to my weight gain, haha. I am going for dry January.

Not going totally dry, but checking in to say I finally found a de-alcoholized wine that tastes like wine, and I’m excited to get it into the rotation! I try to be mindful about drinking, and having a non-alcoholic option is nice to have on hand. For those who are curious, it’s called One of One, it’s a California winery.

Definitely joining in Damp January. I will likely have drinks at the grand opening, at least a fancy mimosa, but otherwise I'm committing to not drinking at home, which leaves me open for social enjoyment, but not the slide into bad habits when I'm alone...symptom of bigger issues.

I’m here! December was way too indulgent, and I’m excited for this reset. I have a number of de-alcoholized wines, mocktails, and assorted NA bevs that I have had in regular rotation for a while now. Some of my and MH’s favorites are:
Leitz x Boisson Blanc (Boisson is an all NA “liquor” store and it’s their collab with Leitz) Thomson and Scott Noughty sparkling wines Odd Bird Blanc de Blanc sparkling (my favorite Na wine option) Geisen Sauvignon Blanc (relatively affordable) Surely Brut in cans (you can get about 2 glasses from a can. Good small serve option.) St. Agrestis Phony Negronis, Phony Amaro and Phony Mezcal Negronis Ghia Spritz Salt and Lime Hop Water Athletic Brewing beers
I have not had a truly convincing NA red, but I’ve had some that were ok. (Leitz, Kolonne Null are two). They really benefit from a dash of bitters and a splash of apple cider vinegar.

I downloaded an app called Sunnyside that helps keep track of drinking and your goals with moderation. I like it so far, but it’s $99 to subscribe. Like, I’d pay monthly, but I don’t want to pay all that up front and then maybe stop using it for whatever reason. I emailed them to ask about monthly payments but haven’t hear back yet.

I use the I Am Sober app and I like it. It's free.

There's also Reframe which I'm thinking about starting in Feb. I think you can do monthly.

They answered and you can do $12/ month, so I signed up for that. I’ll check those other ones out too though, thanks y’all!

I’m here. My main concern is Friday nights. This is the night my husband and I do our date night at home. We’ve had cocktails and takeout for the past 10+ years. I’m worried it’s going to be weird/boring without the vodka.
All this sober talk makes me think of PinkFreud. Does anyone know how she’s doing? It’s been over a year since she last posted. She was always so open and honest about her sobriety.

I slept so soundly last night that I didn't wake up until a few min before my alarm. I still felt so tired though. Looking forward to continuing to catch up on some real sleep.

Um not going totally dry but I'm already pleased with myself that I made it 4 days so far without a drink. It's keeping to goals so far.

Not sure if I'll have any drinks this weekend or not, I may decide on a glass of wine tomorrow night or I may wait until my birthday on the 14th.
