Ok I’m ready to talk about it. The Nightingale is now one of my favorite books of all time. I cried so hard at the end that I had to change my shirt from being soaked in tears and snot. I literally said “Fuck you, Kristin Hannah”. Then Goodreads sends me an email that says “You finished The Nightingale! What’s next?”. I DON’T KNOW, GOODREADS. What IS next??? Where do I go from here? My only plan is to sit here staring at the wall for the next hour questioning my own existence! I’ll get back to you. I really loved it. Have you read Winter Garden? Another of my favorites from her. No, but I recently bought Night Road at a used book store!

I got The Women - can’t believe it was a main pick yay- and Family, Family - I LOVED This is How It Always Is by the same author - as my free birthday add on, so I’m super excited about my box this month! Funny enough I literally just walked out of the library with a copy of Family, Family, but that’s ok, I’d rather use my credit on something I think I’ll definitely enjoy even if I was able to get it early from the library list, then waste it on a meh book for me just because. Darn, guess I haven't been a subscriber long enough to get a birthday pick, just ordered my 5th box today. I went with The Women, and added a couple of add-ons. Even though I was just thinking about how I've been on a Kindle kick because it's easier for me to read before bed and shouldn't buy any more physical books for a while. How quickly I forget. Yes you have to be a “BFF” and you are a BFF after being a member for 12 months. I’m not sure if that includes skip months or not. Once you are BFF, you basically get 2 freebies a year in a free add on for your birthday month, and a free choice of their top 5 picks for book of the year. Almost halfway there! Haha

I finished CC3 today after a very unproductive couple of days at work. 😆 It was pretty good, I had a lot of fun reading it, but I’ve decided that SJM only writes really boring men. I get that they aren’t supposed to overshadow the badass female leads, but Rhysand and Hunt have a lot of interesting potential that falls flat for me as the series progresses.
Side note, Check & Mate was so charming, and I absolutely loved it!

Winter Garden destroyed me. It was so good but my heart can't handle it. I sobbed so much reading that book. I have major FOMO about The Nightingale but I don't think I can do it.

Since I already came out of lurking the thread I might as well join in. I just finished The Heaven and Earth Grocery Store. I don’t think I loved it as much as some, but it was beautifully crafted and a solid 4 for me. I picked up Iron Flame and A Little Life from on hold at the library today. I’m starting with Iron Flame as a palate cleanser.
