Ditto to everyone that Ali Hazelwood > Tessa Bailey. I liked Love Hypothesis best of that series. I also really enjoyed Below Zero and Under One Roof which are two of three novellas she wrote (I didn't like the other one, Stuck With You). I wasn't planning on reading Check and Mate because I'm finding myself too old for a lot of YA romance anymore but maybe I should check it out. I don’t usually love YA romance either but i found myself aging them up in my head anyway There were some pretty mature things going on for an 18 year old.

I have the Nightingale and keep passing it because everyone loves it and talks about it and I’m scared.
I’m going to make it a priority to read though

Ok I’m ready to talk about it. The Nightingale is now one of my favorite books of all time. I cried so hard at the end that I had to change my shirt from being soaked in tears and snot. I literally said “Fuck you, Kristin Hannah”. Then Goodreads sends me an email that says “You finished The Nightingale! What’s next?”. I DON’T KNOW, GOODREADS. What IS next??? Where do I go from here? My only plan is to sit here staring at the wall for the next hour questioning my own existence! I’ll get back to you. Coming out of lurking to say that I just finished reading this last week. I made the mistake of reading it on my lunch break at work when I got to the part with Sarah. As a mom of an 11 year old girl I was NOT OKAY. I had to go to my car and cry it out. Hey girl!

BOTM books are up but the site and app have crashed.
The new Kristin Hannah book is a pick so I’m guessing that’s why and I want it.

I finished up First Lie Wins and it was such a good suspense. I gave it 4 stars. It kept me guessing and rooting for main character. I recommend it for a quick suspense. I probably could’ve finished it in one sitting if I didn’t have to sleep.

I finished two heavy books in a row. The Trap which was so good and not my usual genre. Then Monday's Not Coming. So I needed something light. It looks like Christina Lauren and some other similar authors released an "Improbably Meet Cute" series and the first one is The Exception to the Rule. These look like Novellas, but fit what I'm looking for, for now.

I finished The Unmaking of June Farrow and thought it was a lovely little book. It’s not my usual read but I’m glad I gave it a try.
All my holds are weeks away so I decided to buy a book that came out yesterday, Everyone on This Train is a Suspect. I'm going to start today, I hope it’s as good as the first one.

I just started Wildfire, which is the next book in that series of controversial hockey romances. Takes place mostly at a summer camp. Ha! (I worked at a residential summer camp for many years). cnf you should put this on your list

I have been loving A Little Life but it got heavy and I took a break about 500 pages in. I read The Last Word, not a fan lol. I had to make myself finish it. Had an intriguing premise (an author after a girl who 1-stars his horror book) but was just not attention grabbing for me. I started The Five Star Weekend (Elin Hilderbrand) and that was exactly what I needed. I am flying through it and just enjoying. I also read The Running Grave which was great.

I finished Butcher and Blackbird and loved it. Some cringy writing choices were made, but I still couldn't put it down. I rounded down to 4 stars because of some repetition. It was graphic, but not too bad. The tension and spice was good

I got The Women - can’t believe it was a main pick yay- and Family, Family - I LOVED This is How It Always Is by the same author - as my free birthday add on, so I’m super excited about my box this month! Funny enough I literally just walked out of the library with a copy of Family, Family, but that’s ok, I’d rather use my credit on something I think I’ll definitely enjoy even if I was able to get it early from the library list, then waste it on a meh book for me just because.

Woops, lol. Is this the one where the main characters are like 18? I have a really hard time with romance books where the characters aren't full fledged adults yet. I don't know why, they feel very eye rolly to me, even though every romance book ever is eye rolly.

Also, thanks to whoever recommended Harris County for a digital card. I cheated and plugged in a random Zillow listing address and grabbed a card, lol. That was me! I did the same thing! 🤣 I put all my books that I don't need right away on that library card! One of he Facebook booktok groups had a whole list of libraries you don't need to be a resident in, to get a card.

Darn, guess I haven't been a subscriber long enough to get a birthday pick, just ordered my 5th box today. I went with The Women, and added a couple of add-ons. Even though I was just thinking about how I've been on a Kindle kick because it's easier for me to read before bed and shouldn't buy any more physical books for a while. How quickly I forget.

The very first scene was the most graphic, to me, but maybe only because it is something that already gives me the ick.

I finished Things I Over Shared last night and it was pretty cute. I liked it.
I finished No One Can Know today too and I thought it was just ok. Definitely not my favorite by her.
I also started Things I Wrote About last night and I got as far as reading the prologue to start Midnight by Amy McCulloch.

Guys, I needed something to listen to today and just started scrolling available audiobooks and vaguely recalled the title where the crawdads sing. Is there any reason for me to trudge through this ? The audio narration is terrible, the first scene with racism just reeked of bring written by a white person, and this isn't a fucking coastal Carolina dialect in the slightest. Is this white women saviour Bs? What did I get myself into,? I really did not care for the book. Same. I trudged through it, but I wish I had DNF.
