I had terrible luck with Fitbits. It seemed like they died every 3 months, and they would only do so many replacements. I’m sorry! Any recommendations for something better but maybe cheap? I know my mom tried a very cheap one from Amazon, I will have to ask her which one and if she liked it! I just use an Apple Watch and I love it.

I will be going with an Amazon cheapie when I replace it.

I’m currently paralyzed between smart watch choices. New Apple Watch? Garmin? Garmin and Apple Watch? Garmin now but just for workouts and long ass hikes/overnights?

For us it was 6th grade. 6th was a hard transition and navigating friendships and homework but 7th for sure said hold my beer. So this is telling me that 5th grade is likely to be rough too. In our district things are split into lower elementary (K-4), then upper elementary (5-6), jr high (7-8), and finally high school (9-12). We have this set up too, and although the girl drama was worse in 5th and 6th (my dd is in 6th now), my dd has loved the 5th-6th school environment overall. I'm a big fan of this set-up. I've got a ds in 9th as well, and overall he transitioned through all the schools well too (he has ADHD and is killing me with not getting work done still, but that is nothing new)

AmyG well my mom was actually not happy with her cheap Fitbit knockoff and now has a Fitbit Luxe she got on Prime Day (in October) lol. She says she has been happy with it.

I switched from Fitbit to Garmin a while ago and I’m never going back. I’ve had my current Garmin for nearly 4 years and other than having to charge it more often it still works perfectly. MH is also a Fitbit to Garmin convert

I am nervous for DD1 to be back at school---last year she was at the 5/6th grade school; now in the middle school. The good thing is they shuffled the grades around so the 6-8th are now in the same school. It will work in her favor because her best friend in the neighborhood is in 6th, so they would walk to school together (and home together). I think class wise she will be fine with--her homebound teachers coming to the house are her actual classroom teachers, so they definitely understand and empathetic of her. And she does have good friends in the school, but ugh. By the time she goes back she would have missed an entire year of school, which is hard enough but then to throw in middle school it is something else entirely. Another thing that I am so thankful for is her best friend goes to a completely different school (lives in a different town) so even if there is girl drama at her school, she still has her best friend who is removed from it. Plus my niece is in 5th grade who is her other best friend. So we will see once the spring comes.

Our middle school is 6-8, and my friends kids is 5-8. But all of the grades have their own wing so they barely ever see other grades. Except on the bus which I suppose could be even worse, lol. BUT our school has started having the 6th and 8th graders have lunch together. It seemed wild at first but this is the third year they've done it and have found that they all act better- the bigger kids are trying to set an example and the younger kids are trying to live up to it. I kind of like that idea. Our elementary school and intermediate school all ride the same bus, so it's kindergarten - 5th.My kindergartener and my 2nd grader had never been exposed to older kids like that. The bus is a wild place. our district is UPK-12 on the same busses. DS1 has never had an issue but the stuff DS2 comes home with at 5 is something.

I was sick of my Fitbit’s dying every year so I went with a garmin this last time and I like it so much more.

Hey blurnette989, while you’re here. How bad of an idea is it to go to Portugal in mid July? Like will it be so overcrowded in the big tourist areas? Pearl Jam is playing in Lisbon in July and I was thinking of making MH’s life by planning a trip around that. Oh hi! You can make my life by taking me with you too! ☺️ (It would be PJ show #10 for me!)

My house is quiet. As much as I was complaining and dragging this morning it was nice to have to get up and leave and get moving for the day.

Last week we found out that my 3YO really likes cats. This morning he cried about our dead cats he has zero memory of. It was so ridiculous and sweet.

We have a neighbor whose dog is often out in the yard barking at me and the pups when we are out for a walk. My dogs always freak out to the point where we can't walk past and I have to back track and wait for the dog to go in. This morning we successfully walked past the dog with minimal whining from mine. The one who so often has total freak out tunnel vision when we run into another dog checked in with me frequently and managed his feelings really well. It was the first time I felt like my work was actually starting to pay off and I was so so proud of the puppies. And me!
The puppies turn two in two weeks so I am hoping they are maturing finally.

But also DS's phone died completely today which means a visit to the Verizon store is in my future. It is absolutely one of my least favorite things to do and I am hoping I can just send H.

He was legit so sad about that we don’t have them anymore. And aside from one of the cars who died when he was a few months old (the other one died before he was born) he probably met a cat for the first time since just this weekend and apparently he loves cats now. Such sweet sensitive kids! I guess we have to get a cat or two soonish.

like in public to the point where people give us condolences for losing our dog, until we tell them it's been 8 years.

I blame working and even working from home I would end up putting on shows in the background that I already watch or movies minus Vanderpump rules last year but even then I was what 8 seasons behind. Anyway I need shows now
