I'm glad my kids had a full week off before Christmas but going back on the 2nd makes NYD kinda sad. I wound up gettimg sucked into the end of the football game last night and staying up way too late winding down. 💙💛💙💛

I think the nicest thing about the week off before Christmas is that it gives you a chance to be healthy for Christmas day. No last minute flu coming home, like in my youth. Someone was always sick at Christmas growing up.

How many different ways can you try to hand them the game?

The kids are still off for another week. H and I are off today because we had a specialist appointment for DD this morning and we both wanted to be here for that, and a pediatrician appointment this afternoon. We'll be back at work tomorrow, and my mom will watch the kids. I get to go back to doing inventory. Yay. 😒
My goal for this year is to really get back into therapy and do more EMDR.

It doesn’t affect his mood, thankfully. But he also, by far, the most active and exhausting of the 3 kids. He is going to go far in life with this kind of stamina, but for now, 😭😭😭 Also H is going to be out of town Wed-Fri so lucky me. This sounds like my younger one. But she sleeps like an absolute dream during the night so I didn't mind the no nap. Plus, she was either in daycare or with my mom so I only had to deal with her nonstop activity on the weekends. I would feel like you if I was home with her. Oh yes thank goodness DS has always been a great nighttime sleeper, or my sanity would be shot!

My DD slept in until 10 almost every morning during break, so waking her up at 815 was rough

We were all back today. It’s terrible for my schedule kid lol it takes her 2-3 days to get back into the swing of things so right when she is getting back into it the weekend hits. But we oblige still she makes it work. The rest of the districts around us don’t go back until Monday

I am always trying to compare my school district's calendar to others because it seems we start early, end late, and yet don't have nearly the breaks other districts do (not that I want a three week xmas break!). This year is only the third year we've gotten a spring break, but now we start even earlier because of it.

Do not like. Christmas really hit too soon and then there's also no recovery from NYE.

And we still went until late June. They finally got smart when tons of kids were absent bookending break.

Honestly if dd hadn’t already missed 4 days this year for being sick we were contemplating letting her stay home this year despite getting almost 2 weeks off. To be fair the first couple days she was home I was sick then we had a million Christmas things a couple days off then new years stuff so we are all still exhausted

Mine have been off since 12/22 and don't go back until next Monday.
May I politely suggest that the grass might be a great deal greener, and having children home for two weeks while also trying to work is not as delightful as one might imagine?
Because I am counting the fucking minutes.

I don't think so. 10 weeks off at summer, 1 at Thanksgiving, 1 at spring break, 3 at winter holidays. We end in the first 10 days of June and go back mid/late August.

I about ran away yesterday.
