I'm sorry sophiegrace. I hope she doesn't have the allergies. But I can find a recipe for a vegan cake if you need for her first birthday! I have a couple pinned since B can't eat cake either. Was going to ask you what you do for this! I know it's not the end of the world. I'm already mostly over it. Mostly.

I'm sorry sophiegrace, I hope M is ok. Hopefully the rash doesn't affect her sleep at all. And reach out to the N13er, from the cheese suggestion, if you'd like for vegan recipes, she has so much knowledge it's unbelievable. Or I could if you'd like, LMK.

Was going to ask you what you do for this! I know it's not the end of the world. I'm already mostly over it. Mostly. For his birthday I actually bought a cake mix and made it for his birthday for him to smash. I think it only called for two eggs so I thought he would be ok to eat it since they are baked and he can eat other things with eggs baked in them. He broke out all over his face. I felt terrible. I believe you can use apple sauce and bananas in place of eggs when baking.

W is 3.5 and can no longer fit his 4T pajamas. I think I'm just going to move on to size 6 so that hopefully he can wear clothes for more than 6 mo. OMG S is 2.5 and her 4t PJs are too small. Thankfully she likes dresses so it's not as noticable but I can never get ahead on sizing. I can't buy a season ahead, she always outgrows me when I do.

Super late to check in, but I'm caught up! I'm feeling bad about myself today. I'm really unhappy with my body and it seems like nothing I do helps so I think I'll just go drink some wine because IDGAF anymore. I don't know who any of the men referenced in this thread are lol sophiegrace I'm really sorry M seemed to have a reaction. I made DS a vegan cake for his first birthday. It's my favorite cake recipe ever which is why I chose it over any non-vegan cake (he has no allergies). LMK if you want the recipe.

I must have been channeling N16 today. I watched an episode of fixer upper and had a DQ blizzard (vanilla with butterfinger). 🙃
We took A to the pool today. I've been weird about getting him a puddle jumper but finally bought one. He was swimming all over the pool by himself. He's one the opposite end of most of the older kids. He's 3.5 and is in a mix of 2T/3T. His swimsuit is 24M and I have to roll the waistband so it doesn't fall off his butt.

vino thank you again for reminding me about her. I might get myself some courage and shoot her a message. I feel like it would be a great to have more people in my corner. waitwhat I am so sorry that happened! Is he much more sensitive to milk that maybe that's what caused it? I will take any and all recipes dashook! Thank you!

dashook I think this warrants a separate post. Go back to that pool picture and point out five positives that you see. Try and compare them against the negatives you are thinking and see which weighs heavier. The smile and joy on your face, the happiness emanating from your daughter, her complete ease in your arms, STRONG arms that have carried your babies for you for the past two + years, your beautiful skin. I could go on but instead I dare you to try and give me one negative that is more important than any of the good things that I just mentioned. I say this as someone who has to do it in a mirror daily. I have to lift and rally myself up just to leave the house. It's so easy to knock ourselves down. So far down that we can't see what really matters...the beautiful person and qualities our daughters see. So yes, I hope you're drinking that wine. But, not in self loathing. Drink it because it's really freaking delicious and it makes you feel good. ❤️

sophiegrace, I have no advice only hugs. I hope the rash clears up quickly and that she wasn't/isn't bothered by it. buckyb, DS1 is also almost 3.5 and is still in 24M swim trunks. We didn't even buy him new ones for this summer. Although he's 3T/4T for everything else. I've noticed that babies/kids tend to outgrow pjs first for some reason. It doesn't matter if they're 1 or 2 pieces, they're always smaller than regular daytime clothes. It's weird.

I so want to love that pic because it was a fun, happy moment we were having. I so want for her to never feel anything but happy and beautiful. I'm committed to never letting her hear any negative self-talk (that's what I have you guys for 😉) but I need to get my head right too.

jubilantsquirrel that sounds like it might be delicious. And I agree. Kids grow out of pjs first! sophiegrace I have no clue about the allergy. I'm dumbfounded. He can eat the weirdest things and be ok and then eat something I consider 'safe' and have a reaction. I just don't get it. dashook I agree with SG. That picture is beautiful. You are glowing and D is having the time of her life. Re sizes: my 2 yr old wears 2T shirts, 3T pjs, and size 18 month bathing suits. Huh.

Morning! 9 months old waitwhat?! 😢 I am totally in denial about all this. More organizing today (we are technically unpacked since all the boxes have been emptied and are broken down in the garage). My mom is flying in Thursday so that is my motivation to have everything looking nice by then.

dashook Every picture I see of you, I think you look beautiful and so so happy. But I get it. I feel awful when I see pictures of myself or look in the mirror too long. It can be hard to accept the changes. I try to focus on the fact that I made people and look for the positives instead of staring at what I don't like or my weight. Happy 9 months, J! waitwhat Re sizes: definitely agree about them outgrowing pjs first. Lilah's 3-6 m sleepers are probably at the end, but her 6m onesies and dresses are still fine. I mostly skipped 6-9 with Lillian (3-6 pants with 12m tops for like 6 months), so I expect the same with Lilah. Lillian wears 24m, 2T, and 3T most of the time. She's skinny so I have to make the adjustable waists on pants super tight. But her legs are so long. 18m stuff is too short for her super long legs. But, mostly she just wants to wear "princess dress" which is easy, but I wish she'd wear some of her shirts and pants more often. She'll be 3 at the end of October.

We have an interesting bird situation in our yard. There's a hawk nest in one of our trees and 3 adults tending it. We just saw 2 of them playing around and another one chasing a squirrel across the street. I tried to Google and there are a couple studies about it. I have no idea if this is a rare situation and I should call someone to check it out or if the DNR can do something. I don't really want these hawks here but I don't want to hurt the babies or anything.

The babies are already hatched so I don't know if that's good or bad. We've dealt with A hawk around for the past few years but never this many. I don't want them to keep coming back. I've actually been wanting to take down the tree that the nest is in so maybe we should do that once they're gone.

I don't really want these hawks here but I don't want to hurt the babies or anything. I like our hawks because they kill the things I don't want living in and around our house. But they also leave me alone because of the dogs so it's a good arrangement because I'm typically scared of birds. And I live in the country where we have an abundance of creatures that live in and around our property to keep them busy. I'd probably be freaked out if I lived in town or a development and they were there. We have a barn swallow problem, but the nests were already active (eggs or non flying babies) so the animal sanctuary people weren't allowed to touch them. But I don't think that's for every type of bird. Just the asshole ones.

Re: clothing sizes...kind of
I can't tell if M is starting to lean out or if this is part of the process of her starting to look more like a toddler. She just seems so much longer and not quite as plump as she normally does. I still expect her to be at the top of the weight percentile, but will be shocked if she's still at the 95th.
It was really obvious yesterday when I put leggings on her and didn't break a sweat putting them up over her legs.
