We're on a trip and we were going to do a zoo today, but the AQI is in the 200s. I feel for the people in Canada.

So, I have a repetative stress injury from work (like carpal tunnel, but the other side of my wrist/hand). I filed my worker's comp claim and the ergonomic liason came out and officially recommended that I get an ergonomic mouse and keyboard for my workstation.
I asked my boss 3 times and she finally called IT (apparently they have to order any computer related supplies) and he said it would be 2-3 weeks, but they are in a budget crunch and made it sound like it might not happen.
What is a reasonable amount of time before I start to raise hell? I feel like 2-3 weeks is a bit ridiculous, especially for something they can order from amazon for same day/next day delivery. Even if we ordered through our regular supply channel it would still only take at most 5 business days.
I just told my boss that my hand is going numb when I'm typing and that I just have to take breaks and let it rest (as advised by the ergonomic/risk management person). But I can only type for a minute our two at a time before it starts going numb.
This is stupid.

fatpony 2-3 weeks is nuts. I would check in after 10 days and then every few days after that.

Ahhhhh I'm always so worried I won't spot ticks because they're so small (ticks are a new thing for us to deal with and I feel like I'm going to screw it up and miss seeing them). 😫

Over the past few years climate change has brought them far outside the woods.

fatponyAs long as you say you can do work with lots of breaks they think it's OK you don't really need the keyboard etc. Be more pushy. Without this accommodation I have to stop every minute or 2 so I really need it asap. See what they say.

It was hazy the last couple days here and I thought it was a Sahara dust storm which we get f m time to time. Nope, saw in the news it was smoke in the upper atmosphere from the Canadian fires!

I’ve been wondering how places are going to handle this. Also worried about DD1 going to sleep away camp in NH. They amazingly haven’t had the bad air quality like we’ve had… but if it gets bad there is literally nowhere for them to be away from bad air. I probably need to email them.

Our Fireworks were cancelled tonight because of yesterday's storm. There are power lines down at the race track where they shoot them off. I am very much relieved because I didn't really want to go.

Yesterday we didn’t think we’d be able to get a loan approval for a 5pm offer deadline today, but no one works harder than people in real estate, so that’s already in hand and it’s not even 7am.

DD (11) started her period yesterday. We've been talking about it since last summer. I had some "teen" pads from Always so she wore those, but they still seem a little wide. Anyone have any better suggestions? Also, does anyone recommend any swim bottoms. We said that she doesn't want to wear tampons yet and she is already thinking about our beach trip at the end of the month.

fatpony I realize I am late to respond to this but I would bring it up frequently. I have learned that our IT department is terrible and behind the times in so many ways because my H works for the bigger county in IT and is constantly shaking his head or getting frustrated at how antiquated our procedures, computer systems, etc are. Our office is having consistent problems with internet connection in our offices during court which is a huge problem, and it has taken months to get IT to take it seriously and even now, it still isn't working great. I had to ask for a new monitor and it took them 2 months to get it to me. When I needed a new laptop because my trackpad no longer worked, it was a fight to get them to buy me a new one. In short, our IT dept sucks and you should be pushy and loud.

I would get her some period underwear and swimwear, with pads as a backup until she gets used to knowing her flow. Have her sit down with you and pick out what she would like. www.teenvogue.com/gallery/best-period-swimwear-for-teenswww.teenvogue.com/story/best-period-underwear-brands
