Is it too soon to start with the "Weekend at Bernie's" jokes?

I kept typing and erasing because I don't want to come across as ageist but the truth is she looks very frail/unwell. You guys, she was heard asking "where am I going?" It's so bad. That's horribly sad. Someone (?) needs to intervene.

I feel badly for her because the good she has done is being completely overshadowed by how her career is ending. I wish someone would step up and take care of her the way she needs to be.

People over the age of retirement should not be allowed to hold office. They should only be able to be in an advisory position.

I haven't read any details, but my first reaction was to ask whether it was a DV situation where she creatively solved the problem and then tried to help the kids deal with it.  My first thought was that it was two adults using drugs and then she covered it up. But it actually turns out she changed his life insurance policy so she was the beneficiary. When he realized she did that, he cut her out of his will and didnât tell her. Also according to another article I read, she tried to overdose him over Valentines day 2022 but he survived and told a friend he thought he was poisoned. She wanted to (or did, I'm seeing different things) purchase an unfinished mega mansion that had been started by one of the top couples in the leggings MLM. Her husband thought the price was too much for the property. But when it said they were "celebrating closing on a house," that's apparently what it's referring to.

Apparently Marco Rubio called the jury 'a joke.' The DSCC should be putting up billboards all over saying "Marco Rubio says every day Americans are a joke" they should, but they wonât because theyâre bad at messaging âčïž

There was a knife fight on a high school campus here today and, predictably, the comments are all about how if you ban guns theyâll just use knives and itâs likeâŠbut notice how no one died?? Or was even seriously injured? If mental gymnastics was an Olympic sport⊠They did that early this week after the SUV that ran into a crowd

Shingles is brutal. I had a neighbor who had it in her 80's and she was horribly ill. She lost an eye!! Senator Feinsten should be in her home resting. Pass the torch, maam.

byjove I saw that and all I could do was rage about her trying to deflect the blame from herself. She failed to help her kid. The school admin failed to help the kid and the teacher. That child may have ADHD and the impulse control issues that can bring with it, but there are obviously other issues as well. And even if (IF, which it isn't), his ADHD was the reason for his actions (again, it is not), how the fuck did he get his hands on a gun? That's on you, Mom. I feel so badly for the teacher and everyone else in that school who tried to do the right thing that day. Apparently the teacher had reported other issues/outbursts with the child previously. There was a plan in place for him to attend school that wasn't followed that day. I feel badly for him, too. He's only six and he needs help, but it seems his parents aren't getting it for him.

People over the age of retirement should not be allowed to hold office. They should only be able to be in an advisory position. I donât agree with this necessarily. Iâve worked with people over the retirement age that were in top notch mental shape. And weâve got people like Barbara Lee who is late 70s and seems very fit for office. BUT just like the problem with driving, there needs to be some legal process to evaluate fitness for office. And not a sham letter from a partisan doctor. Things change on a dime at those ages and there needs to be a feasible removal process.

I was literally typing a response saying it seems almost like elder abuse at this point, but deleted it. I donât get it. She doesnât seem like she is against handing over the reins; she doesnât seem to know where she is. Who is trying to not give up power via her still being there?

She is certainly not the first one to be in this situation, aside from maybe being the first female. Strom Thurmond comes to mind (having personally dealt with him, and his designated baby sitter), but certainly not the only. Is this a great practice? No.

jaygee It really does. She's not well and hasn't been. There's no shame in that. She's old. Bodies and minds start failing at some point. It's just a fact of life. But she needs to be somewhere familiar and safe with someone taking care of her and making her comfortable. Wheeling her into her office and expecting her to do a mentally taxing job isn't taking care of her.

byjove I think her being the first female is part of it, but I also think, like in your example of Strom Thurmond, before, it wasn't as well known. He left office in 2003. It might have been an open secret on the hill, but how much was known by the general public? It was probably easier to hide before the press and social media changed the way things are reported and shared.

And I know thatâs the generation she came up in. I guess I just am feeling this one more because itâs my representation. Like I feel exposed not having confidence in my elected official in this current landscape. I know the âofficeâ and staff does the heavy lifting but idk. I want them to be led by someone who is fully present. Itâs a really uncomfortable feeling.

MN Senate just passed a bill that will provide tuition-free public college for any Minnesotan who comes from a family that makes less than $80,000 per year. This is huge. Gov Walz is going to sign it next.
We are getting shit DONE and I love to see it.

Making excuses and breeding entitlement. Also, that mom is looking at prison time, yes? Self preservation tactic, probably. Still makes her a shitty person. What a horrible thing to say, not only against the teacher, but to try and make ADHD, which so many have, part of the problem. Go shove it, lady.

I am also hoping that she was flying in to say her farewells and make a final floor speech - a girl can dream
