Tom was heavily favored by Logan up to that point and she was not. I don't think he was so much heavily favored as he provided useful information at a critical time. Favored as in “proving useful” to Logan, which means that he could have been privvy to information that she was not. If her goal was to gain power then going to the person who had a bit before his death may have been shrewd.

At the end of the day, I do think Tom loves Shiv. I think he does, but she hurt him very badly with the open marriage talk on their wedding night so when it came down to it, he didn’t see a reason to stay loyal. Tom (like so many of the characters) cares about the other characters but is focused on #1.

Brian Cox is hilarious. Such a Scot's sense of humor.

What did y'all think about last night's episode?
Shiv was not buying one bit of Kendall's tall tales. I legit laughed out loud several times. My favorite was the "tribute band" comment.
This one did not feel as BIG as the other ones. I didn't dislike it necessarily, but am just starting to realize it really will be time to wrap this up.

The part that stood out to me last night was Roman's lash out to the swedish guy. I really liked that, because it was just a moment of pure grief and emotion. Kieran is really nailing it this season.

I was kind of disappointed that the story was heading back to Kendall being power hungry and/crazy. Didn’t take long for the siblings to start keeping secrets from each other again but it’s realistic considering that’s what their dynamic has always been. For now at least, it doesn’t seem like they are trying to stab each other in the back.
The exchange between Shiv and Tom was so cringey! They are totally going to end up back together.

"Your earlobes are thick and chewy. Like barnacle meat." I was howling with laughter at that line.

It triggered very bad 2016 memories and so much 2024 dread in me. I need someone to hold me and tell me everything will be ok. I also need Shiv to burn it all down.

America is not ready for the parodies yet. We're still in it. I do love me some Justin Kirk though. Even when he is playing a fascist douche.

The last two episodes have been relentless in the absolute bleakness. How is this going to all end in the next two?

The thing is they are all such terrible people that you can’t really root for any of them, so it’s easy to be amused by their funny lines.

Me all week: don’t tell me who won the election! I haven’t watched yet!
Me tonight: well, I still don’t really know who won the election.
I dislike Shiv but she was RIGHT.

This show is an absolute gem.

It’s masterful. These horribly rich, out of touch, not - serious people but they are all still abused children, grappling with their complicated feelings about their parents who let them down in the most fundamental ways and it’s utterly heartbreaking to watch.

This 100%. There are no heroes on this show but none of them (or none of the core) are really 100% villain either. Well, maybe Logan was. I get that he was abused as a child too. I can't stand Ewan. At least the others show who they are - he's happy to keep his board seat and money flowing from Waystar, yet publicly be "so much better" than Logan. Even in the first season where because he's so worried about climate change, he has Greg drive 10 hours to pick him up, drive him 10 hours to his destination, drive 10 hours to take him back, and then drive 10 hours home. It's showboating. (Yes, I realize that is still better for the environment than 2 private jet trips, but 20 hours of wasteful driving is still substantial)

I …just love this show. I get bored with action and twists and all the things that Hollywood loves. This story? People and psychology driven? The plot is moved by conversations and looks rather than huge events? Add in generational trauma and realistic effects of abusive childhoods on adults? Yes, please. I am hooked all episode long.
