Anyone watching?
I haven’t played the game but enjoyed the first episode. The fast zombies were scary. His daughter dying was so sad.

Haven’t watched it yet but H and I have played through the first game multiple times and is a favorite of ours. I’m looking forward to watching it!

We watched. I’ve never played or even heard of the video game, but we really liked it. I thought the acting, writing, and pacing were all excellent. I’m very interested in Ellie and what is going on with that character.

Have the first episode recorded, hoping to watch it tonight. I’ve never played the game but have heard amazing things about it. (I may see if there’s a video play through on YT.)
Plus I will watch Pedro Pascal in anything.

Never played the game. Watched the first episode and enjoyed it. We will keep watching. I love Pedro, so that helps.

Played the game when it first came out, and I am IN LOVE with the show. Me and MH were the annoying people saying, "It's just like the game!!" over and over. I can't wait to see how the rest of the season goes.

I watched the first episode yesterday; never played the game. I liked the outbreak. I didn’t love it after the time jump; it was making me depressed. But I’ll watch the next couple of episodes and see where it goes.

I really liked the first episode! Know absolutely nothing about the game but I love a good zombie story. I didn’t give my H a heads up about Sarah (I always read spoilers and he never does) and then he was super upset about it for the rest of the episode because he was expecting her to be a main character. Apparently the carve out to the “don’t share spoilers” rule is when people’s kids die.

I love Pedro too. The clips I’m seeing from the game to the show look like an amazing translation.

H and I tried to play the game but we both always got too freaked out and then sucked. 😂 But we watched a friend play some and I know the storyline so I'm excited.

For those of you that played the game- is the plot to find Tommy, or trying to survive when the outbreak first happens, or what?

If I'm remembering, the main plot is getting Ellie to the place she needs to go for the fireflies. I don't remember going back to the beginning of the outbreak, but it's been many years so I could be wrong.

I thought episode 2 was pretty good, but surprising. There’s not gonna be anyone left!

I'm liking it. I never played the game so it was a new thing to me. An interesting concept on zombie creation also!

I thought episode 2 was pretty good, but surprising. There’s not gonna be anyone left! I’m really liking it and getting increasingly disturbed and horrified by the notion of a fungus pandemic. New nightmares, yay!

I can deal with gore and wird stuff but for some reason the stuff that comes out of the zombie mouths just does me in.

lol!! From the comments I learned I had no idea there was a zombie ant fungus that is kinda the same as this game/show is about. I did look it up the other day but didn’t find anything too interesting, so maybe I spelled it wrong or read about another species of the fungus.

That episode was amazing and beautiful. I’m still thinking about it this morning. Me too. I just read an article from the NYT this morning and laughed at the accurateness of this paragraph: It’s frankly remarkable that what is ostensibly an action-horror series could make time — in its third episode, no less — for an alternately heartwarming and heartbreaking short film about companionship. It’s as though the opening montage from the movie “Up” were extended to about 45 minutes and then dropped into the middle of “World War Z.”

That was a beautiful episode. Like what on earth - just hitting us in the face with the poignant love story while I’m prepping myself for the scary zombies and anxious survival story. I was not ready.
I really wish Frank and Bill had gotten to meet Ellie and they all could’ve lived happily ever after in their little paradise compound.

I literally said this - it gave me anxiety that they left with just that small truck. I would’ve stayed too but I suppose that makes for not riveting TV

I had so many good things to say after watching that third episode. I always joke during pandemic-style shows that yeahhhh I'm just gonna go ahead and die right up front because literally WHAT is there to live for. And I feel like this is the only episode of any show like this that I have seen give a good reason to stay alive. I also like that this is clearly some dark shit (like showing the woman and her baby), but we aren't forced to endure traumatic visuals. I appreciate that the show recognized seeing that it was a baby was enough to make us emotional and we didn't need to actually watch a horrifying scene showing it. Idk it just feels so unique after watching shows like The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones (no offense, I liked both but damn).
One of the best episodes of any show I've ever watched. MH had to leave the room after to wipe his eyes lol.
