I enjoyed the 3rd episode, I wouldn't mind seeing more about the Fayed family. Episode 4 is boring I just finished E3 and thought the same thing. It had a Succession vibe. It was an interesting choice to have Wallis and Edward the only royals who appear until about halfway though the episode, but it worked for me. It’s the first episode that’s kept my attention this season. I liked that episode too. Definitely the most interesting so far. Which, to be covering the most volatile period of the BRF so far, is weird.

Underwhelmed by the season. I felt they were very sympathetic to Charles, but still managed to make him annoying.

I finished yesterday and I'm curious for everyone to catch up and give your thoughts. I am bored so struggling to get through, but I will eventually make it. I’m having to watch with subtitles to keep my mind from wandering. I watch everything on Netflix with subtitles 😂

Okay maybe spoilers but I'm tired so just scroll if you aren't caught up.
- Camilla under siege with the reporters camped out at the end of her driveway? Cry me a fucking river.
- Charles was petulant and devious yet somehow still played sympathetically.
- Diana was a mess. I know she had reasons to be paranoid but she was very "poor me" a lot of this season and TMI talking to your teenage son about your sex life lady, my gosh.
- I was surprisingly sympathetic to the Queen, especially when she told Diana about herself ahead of the Panorama interview.
- the underhandedness of Bashir was horrifying.

I just finished today.
I liked the casting this season… except for Dominic West. I don’t find him that attractive so it wasn’t that… I just couldn’t get into him as the character for some reason.
Jonathan Pryce was great but I could also picture him as a present day Charles so it was strange.
I didn’t know a lot of what they showed about the Al Fayeds so that all was interesting. It just seemed like a lot - even though we know why and how it all ends.
I agree that Charles was portrayed sympathetically. Especially as the season went on. It was interesting since that’s not the side I remember being portrayed when this was all happening.
I don’t know if I liked where it ended though.

I finished. I agree that the al-Fayeds were the most interesting part of the show. I didn't know about the connection to Edward and Wallis' estate and valet.
I'm not buying Dominic West as Charles or Charles as the great modernizer/reformer. I also am skeptical that people were super gung-ho about Elizabeth stepping down for Charles back in the 90s like the show portrayed or that he was really pushing it so much either?
I did like when Peter Townsend showed back up to meet up with Margaret, although that's probably 100% fiction.

Wow this season was… quite boring. We feel bad about the Queen’s yacht? That’s the big emotional ending, really?? Wow.
I also liked the Al Fayeds story best. Margaret and Townsend felt like it got shoved in there because it was the best part of S1. Idk it didn’t feel very cohesive and my gosh, way too sympathetic to Charles. Dude complains about being under Mummy’s thumb and then sneaks off with his mistress on her yacht. Blech.
Overall, thumbs down. I’m disappointed.

I just finished. I had a lot of trouble paying attention the last few episodes. I could probably watch again but it was so boring I doubt I will
The Al Fayeds were the most interesting part this season, particularly the episode devoted to Mohammed's life
Agreed they were way too sympathetic to Charles. I also can't get it up to be sad about the Royal Yacht. We all know they could afford to repair it themselves, but how can the wealthy stay wealthy if they pay for things themselves?

I was really not expecting the last five minutes of that episode to turn into a commercial for the Prince’s Trust. Wow. Huh.

I didn't think I could dislike Camilla more, but jumping up from the table at Christmas with your children to talk to him.
Just ew.

I just finished the season, but my kid now has the puke bug that MH and I just got over, so I’m not sure I have the time or energy to adequately discuss because OMG the puke, a plague has been visited upon this house.
It was bizarre to watch the episode that Susan Hussey appears in at the same time that she’s in the news. And the irony!! that either in that episode or the one before/after it, Diana basically says the same thing to Martin Bashir. (“Where are you from?” “No, where are you REALLY from?” Etc!)
Odd to me that Harry didn’t appear in any of the later episodes. Like, after Will went off to school. I know they were trying to show how lonely Diana was, but surely she saw Harry now and then? It made me wonder if Netflix did that deliberately because of its relationship with H&M. Will definitely seemed fair game, but they couldn’t find one actor in all of England that looked slightly more like him, after basically casting clones of his mother? Such strange casting choices.

Given the huge public interest in him right now, caving into pressure from his people is the only reason that leaving him out makes sense to me. I mean, we have time for 10 minutes of filler of random divorcing couples, but not a glimpse of him the second half of the season?

I am traveling tomorrow and should have time to watch some if I download them tonight! The first 4 episodes dropped today! And thanks, I've got my gabapentin and muscle relaxers on hand. It's a holdover from a car accident almost 20 years ago and I aggravated it the other day by, idk, existing. 😂

DH came home, saw what I was watching and went in the basement without even asking if this was my plan for the evening.
I will say I didn’t expect this to be all about Diana. But it makes sense.

Ok. I have thoughts.
As I stated before, I didn’t realize this was all about Diana right now. But I loved it.
I loved that they showed the impact on the family. Seeing the funeral possession again was a throwback.
I can’t wait for the next part
