I think the House is gone. (Until someone dies/resigns in disgrace/etc) I know you know this, but the fact that it took until Saturday for Mccarthy to squeak out a tiny majority is just BONKERS .

Those dresses are all awful for different reasons. Does no one in that family know a normal stylist?

I thought TFG didn't even like Tiffany? He does when she marries a billionaire heir Also, through some personal knowledge of an acquaintances circumstances, ties to Lebanon is problematic for security clearance purposes, but we know TFG DGAF

Amazing perk that, until now, I hadn’t even realized it existed. There was mention during FluteGate, but I just didn’t connect it.

Some day when all of this calms down, someone can explain to me how we still have uncounted ballots a week after the election, in this year of 2022. Recounts I understand. But still opening ballots? Wtf.

Wtf. It depends on state laws, and how many people are actually employed/volunteered to work elections. If the law is you can start counting/opening/curing until after polls close on e-day, then you have a cluster.

To add on to this, some states are still accepting ballots, or were still accepting them until a couple days ago In these super close races they could definitely make a difference. Locally I'm waiting to see results of a proposed property tax because day-of and early votes were only 33 votes apart 😬

Wtf. In Nevada, for example all active registered voters are mailed a ballot. You can drop your ballot off in-person or send via the mail up to Election Day (or go vote in person too). The culinary union in Vegas encouraged all of their members to drop their mail-in ballot off on Election Day so they didn't have to stand in line to vote but also didn't need to worry about the mail. So you have a ton of dropped-off mail-in ballots coming in on Election Day itself and then diminishing numbers coming in from the mail each day - as long as they're postmarked up to Election Day they count. So all those ballots need to be opened by staff and tabulated.

Wtf. Nebraska is always speedy with the counts, but this year the provisional ballots are needed this year because of the close counts. From what I’ve seen, this is typically only an issue in the blue counties though.
