The first thing I thought when I read the top tweet was "here come the conspiracy theories" and then I got to the part where the guy's name is Bill Gates and...oh boy.

Volunteer: texting to ask (again) if candidate can count on your support. Me: you are amazing and wonderful. Thanks for doing what you are doing. Yes on the vote, ballot has been long since turned in and accepted. Sorry I’m so nervous. Have a great ED! I need to change my number now. I know most of the texters and callers for our local ones so I'm always like "hiiii!!!!" Lol same.

Lol The raise the minimum wage person responded in a conversational way and I had to stop myself from replying again. I’ve forgotten how to GIF Oh you should TOTALLY respond. Let them spend that money to try and 'convince' you. Texts cost the campaigns money so if you really want to just spend their pennies this is a good way to do it.

Just finished voting. It was way busier than normal (but in the past I used to go at like 7am, so maybe that is why). They only had 2 electronic machines so I had to wait. Lots of paper ballots being cast by the olds. What was cool is that now that schools have today off, many of the poll workers were high school students. I have a lot of hope for the upcoming generation, for real. I work in a middle school, and these kids have been through it and are ready to rule.

I don’t usually come over here anymore, but I’m here for chatter. These last couple weeks have been SO hectic, H and I just dropped our ballots at the box in the library yesterday. That’s late for us. 😅 I’m curious how some of the local measures and state propositions will turn out.

it was strong here in MI, too. The slogan against Prop 3 was "Too Confusing, Too Extreme" and ads used all the key words like it was "on par with NK and China". 🙄 Infuriating. Vermont will become a destination location for late term abortion, don’t you know. Peep the leaves and get an abortion on a whim!

I voted over the weekend. But I had the kids wear their "Future Voter" stickers today that we got from the board of elections. I'm wearing my I voted sticker today as well. The campus is having an election results watch party starting at 8pm. They're really working on hyping up the vote. Unfortunately even if I didn't have the kids, or I thought they would have a smidgen of fun, I don't think I'd enjoy a results party. I'll sweat it out at home and hang with you all here. I never go to the E Night parties. I have to wear soft clothes and eat my feelings. This is H when his team makes the World Series. He won’t watch with other people. He gets too worked up. 😂

Checking in on my lunch break. I got moved to a new Precinct this cycle as they needed an assistant manager here to complete the team. This one is much slower than my usual spot. MH waited an hour to vote this morning, with all 3 kids in tow since schools are closed.
Be safe everyone! And all the efficient vibes to all my fellow poll workers and watchers. May you not be swamped with provisional voters at ten till close.

We dropped our ballots yesterday. Our polling place is just outside my office on campus and there's been a steady stream of people all week. No lines, but steady.

Always thankful for living in a town with 600 people because elections are super quick and easy in person. Taking the kids to the trampoline Park for a while to distract me now.

First Bus of college kids has arrived. (NH is a state you can register in person on the day of) and I just found out the kids at the college are getting 3-4 food trucks from 3pm-8pm free with college ID! We're almost at a 1,000 voters with many registering today.

We voted! We had some quirky thing happen that has me very 🧐 I voted without issue but my husband’s registration somehow had his address switched back to his childhood home (same town, same district, we live like .25 miles down the road) he hasn’t lived there since 2011 and he’s voted in every election and it’s always been fine 🤷🏻♀️ he was still able to vote he just had to fill out some paperwork to go with it and I guess it will be counted separately with the other “weird” votes That's fishy as hell.... I'm glad he knew his rights and cast a provisional ballot. That might be worth a call to the voter protection hotline.

Just got back from voting. First time voting in CT and I really hope the early voting measure passes.
I had an asterisk next to my name, which threw the poll workers at first. I'm guessing it's because I don't have my CT driver's license yet but I had my passport on hand to use as my official identification so it worked out in the end.
Both girls were well behaved and my kindergartener saw a friend of hers from school, so she was excited about that.

I know it's been said ten ways from Sunday but don't despair at counts and totals tonight. Some big races we likely won't know for days.
On the good news front, dem enthusiasm is higher than 2018 by quite a bit (and that was a big wave) and by 2020 than a few points in some key areas.
And while I generally like Wasserman, he has admitted to pure guesses in his pre-election analysis. While he's a good mathematical caller, he doesn't know any better than any of us until the votes start getting counted.
We got this ladies, stay hopeful, it's all we got. 🇺🇸👊

Picked up DS1 and 2 from college and preschool and went to vote. DS2 was excited because they talked about elections today.
It wasn't crazy, but busier than I've seen in the previous midterms. We waited in a line about 15 deep and there was a steady stream of people the whole time. It moved pretty fast
We saw an 18yo that had to cast a provisional ballot because he wasn't coming up in the system. Hopefully it was an error

We also have a very contentious referendum for a new school and I'll be anxious to see if it passes. 1/3 of the kids in the elementary school have been learning in "temporary" trailers for several years, which didn't even have bathrooms until this year. We just had a huge bond vote for our schools and it got really contentious. But our schools are falling apart and it is badly needed. It passed with overwhelming support and I hope yours does too.

We also had a negative encounter with someone waiting with her special needs kids/young adults (they were probably teenagers). They were waving at DS2, one told him his glasses were cool, and the mom started condescendingly talking about DS2's mask and how that must be so hard for him 🙄 There is a local group of parents of children with special needs that has been incredibly anti-mask. Most of the people in our area are either anti mask or don't care though, so I guess it tracks, but it's baffling to me.
There were a couple other people with masks, but mostly a lot of mouth breathers getting too close to me for my liking (looking at you crazy neighbor that had lock her up signs in 2016 😒)
