Was Margaret the Princess Royal? No, her aunt held the title until sometime in Elizabeth’s reign, but I’m not sure she’d have been eligible anyway since she wasn’t the oldest. Anne’s not the oldest so that isn’t the reason. I think it’s more just something that is sometimes given as an honor but isn’t automatic or mandatory.

I’m laughing at the amount of people who are saying that the monarchy won’t last long enough for will to be King

Do we think Will will change his name when he becomes king?

Do we think Will will change his name when he becomes king? If he kept William, he'd be William V. I looked up his full name and it's William Arthur Philip Louis. Not that he has to pick any of his given names if he doesn't want to. But the fact that his first 3 names give him the initials WAP, is giving me giggle fits. Because opposite...

I think it’s more just something that is sometimes given as an honor but isn’t automatic or mandatory. She’s the oldest daughter, but you’re right, the title is customary, not automatic. In all my googling there’s been speculation that Charlotte will be named a duchess instead of Princess Royal to be more in line with her brothers. Something to do with the change made before George was born.

I’m laughing at the amount of people who are saying that the monarchy won’t last long enough for will to be King I 100% think the monarchy will last long enough for Will to be king. However, I think it's going to look vastly different and be a much smaller empire. Frankly, I think he would prefer that way anyway. He wants to perks without the responsibility. He doesn't seem to take constructive criticism well and he is completely un-self aware in the most (painfully) humorous ways.

Do we think Will will change his name when he becomes king? I doubt it but I would be curious to see what he would choose if he decided to switch…

I think it's telling that Elizabeth, who is really the first TV monarch, didn't change her name.
Now that they are able to be known young, visually, to the public, I think the keeping their names thing will continue. It's too weird and out of touch even for them to suddenly be someone else.

I agree. It would be so weird to all of a sudden be King Philip or whatever Will would possibly choose at the age of possibly 50

Agreed and I always think of this exchange in S1 of The Crown: Elizabeth: "What’s wrong with my name?" Philip: "Nothing." Elizabeth: "Well, then, let’s not overcomplicate matters unnecessarily. My name is Elizabeth." Martin (Private Secretary): "Then, long live Queen Elizabeth."

Bea and Eugenie seem removed and we don’t see them interacting much with Will.

Oh, that brings up a good point. Do we ever see Eugenie and Beatrice hanging out with Will at non-royal events? We see Harry and Eugenie together in public, but I’m trying to rack my brain about Will hanging out with his cousins.

Tbh I’m not really sure if I’ve ever noticed Will hanging out with much of anyone other than occasional family stuff with Kate and the kids unless it’s a royal event or engagement 🤔

The ones we’ve seen of Harry and eugenie were in America

So I’m reading that the York sisters are feuding with Will and Kate and Charles because of their treatment of Andrew
I don’t think I believe that.

So I’m reading that the York sisters are feuding with Will and Kate and Charles because of their treatment of Andrew I don’t think I believe that. There are lots of stories about Will and Kate not getting along with the York girls going way back. Some said Kate froze them out and didn’t like any females, even family, being close to Will. Others said the Yorks were snobs toward Kate. Others said Pippa and Kate made fun of the Yorks. Then of course the Queen released the order to make Kate curtsy to them if she wasn’t with Will, and that was said to be because she preferred the Yorks and wanted to please them. So there have been so many stories for so long that I 100% believe they don’t get along well, but I don’t think there is one specific reason.

If I remember right, they did that for the Swedish grandkids too (those that aren't Victoria's)

If I remember right, they did that for the Swedish grandkids too (those that aren't Victoria's) Yes, the article mentions they did it in 2019 I think the BRF has way more global visibility and it's probably harder to just grow up and "blend in" as Prince Harry, but I'm not sure how recognizable the other European royals are within Europe
