What a weird take. Not your comment, but the idea that Kate was treated worse. Kate was not treated well by the british media but that mostly changed when she married into the RF. Meghan was skewered and roasted from the beginning and it has gotten more brazen and cruel as time has gone on. I don't really see how anyone could say that Kate has been treater harsher. MEGHAN AND HARRY HAD TO LEAVE THE FUCKING COUNTRY OVER THE RACISM AND BULLSHIT. Oh it was said Multiple times. Over and over. |

I don’t remember any discussion of the crown seizing custody of Kate’s kids.
Kate is still listed on her kids’ birth certificates.

and to be fair I hate the fact that the hashtag KKKate is trending because it isn't just Kate and she shouldn't be the fall person just because she is a woman and not blood royal. I think she is in there with the rest of them don't get me wrong but it isn't a Kate vs. Meghan thing

I'm not trying to play devil's advocate here, but there are several good Tweets showing differences between how Kate and Meghan have been treated by the press. Are people saying those are okay but not Tweets from troll accounts?
The fact of the matter is that Tweets DO generate conversation because they're in a different format compared to the rest of the board. So we can all easily and quickly see the content and it spurs conversation.
I see everyone's point about not creating traffic for trolls but I can also see why these things are posted.

I just do agree that posting the clear troll tweets doesn’t spark anything deep or productive. And that was a lot of what we are getting.
I also think constantly throwing what are at this point kind of older, adjudicated conversations with a lot of posters who aren’t even active here anymore up is a bit reductive. We can’t make that not have happened, but is that the current attitude in the thread?
No one is saying it didn’t happen, that I see.
People can do whatever they want, no one has actual authority.
But I guess I don’t see the CURRENT participants as unwilling to have hard conversations. We just got fatigued with “omg she looked at the camera” et al and I stand by that.

Also, at least one WOC in this thread has asked that they be spoilered, so at the very least I think deferring to those who are hurt the most from this stuff makes sense, no devils needed. Yes I agree which is why I said that I wont post them anymore because I can totally get it. |

Idk because most folks got real quiet when problematic stuff was pointed out last week. The perspective here is still majority privileged white women and it shows. I actually don’t see preaching to choir I see folks wanting to stay comfy or fight about dumb drama. In recent months I have seen interesting conversations and sharing info about colonialism, but being challenged to look at our own biases was met with crickets or defensiveness. (No I am not calling out anyone in particular and yes this is something I look for in myself continuously.)
