I can't see most of the tweets, as well.
I posted about Wallis Simpson two days ago, not being aware of just what she and Edward were into. People commented right away and I learned something I did not know.
Granted, my pov on most things falls generally in line with the board culture, but there is still room to grow and learn.

I mean, sure, but my god, some of the shit I wore on a night out from that era is downright embarrassing now. Given the looks of the girls behind her, seems like maybe it was a themed girls night out. And we do know how Kate loves a theme! |

Long Story Short my theory is I don't think her mom "let" her have her own fashion with the exception of the sports stuff she wore, because she wanted her to be moldable. Also why her mom and her have the same dresses sometimes, and why she would let Sophie shop for her. (I do flip flop on maybe clothes just aren't her thing so she doesn't really care which I do think is possible) When she was officially "in," the Firm gave her "princess lessons" but without anyone her age really dressing how they wanted, they dressed her like older women. How the Queen dressed when she was her age, girlie, feminine, a 50's housewife. You can easily tell young Kate style from now Kate style. (I'm sure all these years in the game, she has her favorites, and some of her own ideas but she doesn't want to ruffle feathers) That's why there's that "Meghan Effect" some people like to say. When Meghan started coming in dressing to perceived protocol, but not how Kate was dressing, people were mad. Then after Meghan left, it seemed Kate (or her stylist) started wearing similar outfits, just not to the same effect that Meghan did, to which Kate was praised. (The change was bite-sized and a refreshing reminder that she is younger) She doesn't want to ruffle feathers, so she wears what they want her to wear. It's also why she/they love a theme. Just like the queen, how many coat dresses can we get in the exact same color. The stuff she wears when she knows she's going to an engagement that requires playing, running, etc. she seems to be her most authentic self because that's probably her. The stuff she wears on hikes as tired of it as we are, is her or as close to her they'll let her get! When she got her Covid vaccine, She was just in a white tee and jeans, I think that was her and she looked great and relaxed! I, personally, don't think she's as Trad wifey as they want us to believe she is. Not to say she doesn't love to bake, or cook but clothing wise, I think she's probably a jeans, nice sweater, tee shirt, tank top lady, and everything we see her step outside the palace walls in is "for work!" This may be UO, but this is my two cents. |
