I don’t think it’s lost on anyone that this is all very complicated, right? Especially in here. I just don’t appreciate the blatant trolling. She isn’t trying to have a conversation on a nuanced topic, she’s trying to fight about literally anything she can. She was pissed about a sandwich several pages ago. That's why I pointed out she's a shitty person to be the mouthpiece. I do think there have been some comments that imply one is wrong to not care much about the family's grieving, but ymmv. I totally get where you’re coming from and I do not want to be tone policing. For me it’s just her and knowing she’s just here to be shitty regardless. Please always use this thread for discourse. Hear me out here, but if someone had given my grandma two fucking PUPPIES at 95/96 because her husband died, I would ding dong ditch them straight to their doorstep before the body was cold. My friends and I have a running joke that a puppy is the perfect gift for all occasions. Death in the family? I'll bring you a puppy. Just had surgery? I'll bring you a puppy. New baby? Puppy. |

Then don’t go. Or watch it. Do you live in the Uk? My friend who lives in London has expressed similar sentiments (in different words) and her friend group seems pretty aligned on that as well. Phil is annoying, but I don't think she's off on the optics here, regardless of actual costs. Fwiw, because apparently some thought I was an asshole for asking, I honestly don’t know anything about Philo except that she is a troll, and her feelings are so intense that I just wondered if she lived there. Maybe I should have asked if she was British instead. I have friends in the UK who also feel similar, and have family who are very sad about her death and think she should be honored with all the festivities planned. |

Unrelated but my dads elderly dog needed to be put down a few months before he passed away. He was SO crushed but obviously a puppy was not what any of us needed (he had terminal cancer, on hospice) so I let my dad and brother “borrow” my cocker spaniel. 🥺 Of course… when my dad passed away my brother was too sad for me to ask for my dog back and she’s much happier being the queen of the house and not getting harassed by my kids in her senior years so…. |
