The press is also reporting that Andrew and Fergie will have custody of the Queen’s Corgis. God save the Corgis. Wasn’t Andrew the one who gave her a couple of them? Or am I remembering wrong 🤔 I think so, at least 2? After Philip died. |

Chantal of Greece Her husband looks similar to King Felipe. I looked it up wondering if they were cousins but as far as I can tell they aren’t. I thought the same thing and got super confused for a moment lol |

So maybe there is a connection, esp given how much intermarrying happened throughout the royal families? But I didn’t find it in the first 2-3 paragraphs I read |

Queen Sofia was a princess of Greece and her brother is the former King Constantine II who is the father of Pavlos. |

Hear me out here, but if someone had given my grandma two fucking PUPPIES at 95/96 because her husband died, I would ding dong ditch them straight to their doorstep before the body was cold. Hopefully that was a conversation with a contingency plan. |

It's just sad. And I saw on Twitter that Americans are like "we would NEVER" while conveniently forgetting or just not knowing that the last time a president died in office the entire country shut down. And his family's grief was on display.
It's not apples to apples but it's the closest analogy I could think of.

I also know a lot about JFK and the assassination because it was one of my father's pet interests. He had so many books about the presidency and Cuban missle crisis and assassination, and I have a vivid memory of watching "4 Days in November" with him as a kid. Plus he would tell me the story of how the nuns were crying and they dismissed school when it happened pretty much every year.
I kind of wish I had his books but I'm sure his widow would set them on fire before giving them to me.

Are all those Greek people related to Phillip? Prince Philip's father and Constantine II's grandfather were brothers. I've been fascinated with Queen Victoria's genealogy for years and the way her descendents spanned across so many European monarchies. For example, Pavlos and Marie-Chantal were at the jubilee because Queen Margrethe II is his aunt (his mother's older sister) and Margrethe herself is a distant cousin of Queen Elizabeth. *Excuse my nerding. Can you tell I know no one who appreciates that part of history? 😄 |
