So, just like after the first dose, post second dose my 4 year old has sinus stuff/cold, lots of boogers and draining, a little sneezing, a little coughing, sore throat. COVID tested (just like after the first dose) and is negative. My 4yo has been sneezing a lot, 2nd dose was Fri. I assumed it had been allergies but I wonder if it's side effects!

My mom texted me to call her yesterday when I had time. When I called she said she and my dad have had covid for over a week. My dad got it first and is on Paxlovid, my mom is taking the other antiviral because she's on cholesterol meds. They're finally starting to feel better at about days 8 and 6 respectively We've had a tense relationship the past few years but when something happens we always let them know right away, like when DS2 got covid and when DD broke her elbow. It's really making this weird for me that nobody could even text. They babysit my nieces and thankfully they and my sister are fine, but I didn't hear from sister either. I don't know what to make of it I'm sorry. When my parents got it a couple weeks ago I heard it from my sister. So ridiculous.

I'm thinking we're next. I just hope we stay as mild as possible and out of the hospital. Every day for a week and a half we have an email from daycare that someone has tested positive.

My mom told me yesterday "just get it and get it over with". Hello do you not get it? I don't want it once a month for the next several months! Also TEN days home for DS even though he's vaccinated. No fucking thanks.

My 5 year old just tested positive. We were down the shore all week so I feel awful we were out and about. She started with congestion today. This all sucks. I hope you aren't beating yourself up too badly. You didn’t know! And if she was presymptomatic, even if you had tested her first, it might not have shown up. I keep wondering if I missed a symptom. We were mostly outside for the week except for breakfast one day. I know that's not completely safe but better then nothing. I hope neither of the grandparents who stayed with us will get it.

Covid has made things really weird with my family too. I'm sorry that happened. But solidarity. I'm sorry you're in the same boat, it really sucks Things were weird pre-covid for us, there was some relief during covid that there was no pressure to visit (they live about 4 hrs away), but before DS2 was born (when things blew up) I used to talk to my mom literally every day. She would definitely have given me shit if I had delayed telling her anything a week, but I guess I need to stop expecting literally anything from them I can totally relate to feeling less pressure during covid. At Christmas before my girls were vaccinated I bought tests for everyone at my dad's to take. They (dad and stepmom) refused even though we just wouldn't have come if someone tested positive. We weren't asking them to not have people over. They are so hypocritical because the whole time before they were vaccinated they were so careful and my stepmom was so dramatic about having panic attacks going grocery shopping. We also didn't have a great relationship before but it will never be the same.

I don't WANT to associate with my right leaning family, and I certainly don't want to expose my family to them. I miss a couple of my younger cousins who are with me on the liberal black sheep side of the family, but I can't bring myself to go back.

When DS1 and I drove up in May to pick up some furniture from my grandpa who was moving to assisted living, we had lunch with my parents and sister and my sister rolled her eyes when I said I wanted to eat outside somewhere. None of them give a shit and frankly it's shocking it took this long for any of them to get it

No fucking thanks. I wish it were as simple as get it once and get it over with. My Aunt and Uncle were shocked when they got Omicron this summer after having Delta last fall.

Like no you can get it again and again and studies show you’re more likely to have long term effects the more you get it. Also get it done and over with doesn’t always work- I’m six weeks post positive and still dealing with this awful cough. And fatigue that I firmly believe is more post CV related than pregnancy related but I could be wrong.
