You have PM HilarityEnsued, BTW, new favorite snack. I got a grande iced non fat latte, but when I got home I blended it up in my Magic Bullet with ice, cinnamon and honey. It's like a sad girls frappacino. I wonder if they would do that for me at SBX? I was getting the toasted coconut cold brew for my skinny treat. Only 3 points. But they got rid of it and now they have some vanilla thing with too much sugar. So I'm going to go back to blending ice, coffee, and premier protein shakes as my sad frap substitute

And cinnamon will add flavor. I'm assuming you're adding protein powder, but should work either way.

I have the iPhone app, and it seems to remember what I've eaten before. Those foods pop up at the top of my food list and show up first if I search for them, like I ate Aidells chicken meatballs and if I start putting in part of the name, those come up at the top of the list (like google when you search and it recommends stuff you have searched for before.)
And I eat salad for breakfast every morning, and it remembers the portions of my ingredients. I can change the portion, but it offers me the one I used last.

I wonder what Shelby thinks of having players named "Hilarity Ensued" and "Dogbutt". Not important, I just wonder if she thinks it's weird or funny.

Tracking is so tough when you eat at local restaurants.
I just tried and I think I made decent food choices, but I have no clue how to record it all.

I usually fine the main ingredients protein, vegetable, grain and add that in. Then I look up the sauce if there was one and see if there's a similar recipe on the web that I could use and add that.

I'm finding Noom's database to be less robust than MFP or WW. I don't mean to keep complaining about it, but I've been trying this app to see if it's a good fit and I don't think it is for me. I want the team and cocaching stuff with a better food database and online web browser access.

I need the basics to be easy peasy because I always quit. If I had a lot of money I would hire a personal trainer to come wake me up every morning to work out and a personal chef to make delicious yet healthy meals. Where do I sign up to become a billionaire?!?

I'm off today so I'm hoping to stay on track.
Last night we ended up being late so we made a frozen pizza. I added it in and ate half of what I normally would so I stayed in calorie range

Eat an apple right before dinner, eat two slices of pizza, and walk away from the pizza.

I'm really going into this thinking of it as a lifestyle change and not a diet. And to that end, in my real life, all days aren't perfect nutrition days. Even skinny TB had blow it out days. They were rare, and I made my choices differently, but they happened. My birthday will fall in our Noom time period and I can guarantee I won't even try to make my calorie goal. Anyway, my point is that if you have a day or three where you fall off and go way outside your calorie allotment, it's ok. Step back and figure out if it's cool with you (like a birthday) and you just say fuck it and move on or if it's not cool with you, like you lost your shit or your motivation, and then look at why and how it happened and what you could do differently next time. I'm no expert, but I would say that if it were the latter, that would be the prime time to go to your coach and talk about it and get some strategies for moving forward. This is what they are getting paid to do- to help you figure this out. Also, brux, I have some longer more involved thoughts for you but I don't have time to write it out, but I'll be back later.

i did see that. I'm going to play with it a bit today. let me know what it's like. I'm trying to figure out some basic meal planning (a general concept which fully alludes me) and I'd like to try to build some recipes. my gut says I'm going to be frustrated based on how I'd like to view a recipe on one screen and enter it into Noom or whatever on another. That's hard to do all on a phone. But in the interest of not complaining, I shall give it a shot.

We are doing pizza again with the in laws tonight and I already put in 2 pieces and I plan to do a salad with it so I don't over eat. I also plan to just put one piece on my plate with the salad and wait to see if I even need that second piece

thisbitch you are right on the lifestyle change. That is what I have to do or I know it won't work. It's a big reason why I'm happy our gym will be closing for 2 weeks for annual maintenance. I want to get my eating under control and a habit to eat well and then add in another new habit if that makes sense. Also tomorrow we are cooking out. I'm sure I won't stay in calorie range but I bought the separate section plates so I can monitor portions at least. I can't not have mac and cheese but I don't have to eat a whole bowl. But if anyone has good for you sides I'm listening

Ok, brux- I don't know if Noom is right for you, or even if it's right for me, so I am not speaking to that part. If you want to change your lifestyle- to stop going on and off of diets and convert to a long term sustainable weight management lifestyle, that is going to be hard. It is going to involve discomfort, perhaps even a lot of of discomfort sometimes. It is absolutely going to mean doing something that you don't want to do because it needs to be done. A lot of times the diet and fitness industry wants to sell you something else, but the hard truth is that if you want long term results, you have to put in long term effort, and it isn't going to be easy or fun. The good news: 1- I *know* you. I'm not going to dredge up your personal history here, but I know that you've faced challenges before, more than one of them, and when it came time to deal with them, you pushed through. You did the hard thing and you kept going, even when I know you didn't want to. (I can give examples but like I said, I'm not trying to dredge up your history here.) 2- This thing gets easier. Not that's it's ever easy, but it gets easier. You learn shortcuts- whether it's a shortcut to making or ordering a healthy dinner or a trick to mentally drag yourself to the gym when you'd almost rather give up a pinky finger than go workout. 3- a lot of what you have to battle now is habit. Habit is powerful and right now it's trying to

It's trying to pull you back to status quo because that's what is comfortable. But every different choice you make is going to build new habits, new memories, and new responses. If you stick with this, at some point, you'll find yourself going through the motions without thinking about it. And even then, you may find it's harder sometimes than others.
nd I have to go parent now. Hope that makes some sense.

Thank you thisbitch. None of what you said is brand new information to me, but it's a necessary reminder. It's also helpful to know that it's hard and will be hard at times forever. It is about changing habits and changing perceptions. And not just once, but over and over again. In many avenues of my life, I pick the path of least resistance. Ever since I was a kid, I choose short term happiness over long term goals. I have been able to fight through my nature, and food and diet and to some extent exercise, are issues I've never cared to deal with changing for the better in the long term.

Good morning! I haven't read. Honestly I need to vent a little...
I don't even know where to start but we have been struggling financially for 2 years now. This all happened when my company decided to do lay off and I was a victim of it at 35 weeks pregnant. I was in sales making excellent money but decided to stay home because I was mentally drained from everything. My SO works in finance and is reAlly fucking good at his job. His company loves to dangle that carrot in front of him but they never live up to their promises. Anyways, they did sponsor his series 7 and he passed so he stayed to see if their tune changed with this new cert. obviously it hasn't changed in fact they barely pay him commission. Like he raised 100M for their funds in a quarter and they paid him $900 spread over 3 fucking months. He has been applying for jobs since October.
I have an opportunity in CA to work at a winery and I'm excited to get back to work and not be in an office setting. I did that for 6 years working hard core let's be like boiler room sales environment and I'm just done with that. This is why it's been challenging to find a job in CA bc we are in VA. Well his dream company reached out to him in June and he started the interview process with them. He was so excited and it really is an amazing fit. Every interview went really well and he was only getting positive feedback. Well yesterday night he got news they went with someone else and he is just crushed and I am too. Anyways, this little glimpse of hope was keeping us going and it's gone. The money stress is slowly killing me and he won't talk to me about a game plan. I know he needs time to process but I'm a proactive person.
I wrote my thoughts how they came so it probably doesn't make sense. It's ccgallenging for me to not give into the urge to binge eat right now. I'm glad I have this group it has helped me to pinpoint triggers of why I eat the way I do and helping me stay in some control. I had a rasperverry sorbet dove bar last night by only ONE so that's a positive. I could have easily had like 3.

dogbutt, that's huge. And devastating. It's so, so hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel and then to see it taken away. In many ways, that's emotionally harder than never seeing the light at the first place. All good thoughts to you, and I hope you can both take a little time to mourn your dream before you pick up and look to your next step.

Broccoli salad, vinegar based coleslaw, ooo skinny taste has a salad I want to try let me look it up.

brux, the voice that tells you that you always choose short term happiness over long term benefit is no longer serving you, so let that go. You're a mom- no matter how tired you were, you got up in the middle of the night or at some ungodly hour because your kid needed you. You BFed for an entire year (I think) even though you fucking hated it. You get up and go to work everyday whether you feel like it or not. You're married and you've stayed that way in good times and less good times. That voice that tells you that you're not tough and positive in the face of adversity is lying to you.
