I was in my kitchen for 3.5 hours making food today. The meal bowls for the week, prepped a week of lettuce, and sloppy joes with baked sweet potatoes for dinner. I feel like I ran a marathon. I'm fucking tired and I hate cooking. This was me although I don't mind cooking. I did:
Loaded omlete muffins Italian Chicken bowls Cut all the veggies for the week steamed some broccoli and cauliflower washed all the fruit boiled eggs extra chicken breasts for SO's lunch
I did not make dinner though. DD had leftover pizza with fruit, So had some of the egg muffins, and I had an Italian chicken bowl.

I like cooking, and I will always hate those marathon kitchen prep sessions, brux. And I saw you mentioned prepping lettuce a couple of times- i like that spring mix that comes already washed and you don't have to cut it. We A LOT of salad, so that's a huge timesaver for me. hawkward, welcome. You don't have to lurk. You go here too.

The whole alcohol thing is so stupid. I know a couple of things. Even if we ignore all of the empty calories (and I despise empty calories, generally,) there are a host of other issues.
Even a single glass of wine affects my sleep, which makes me feel tired and irritable the next day. Alcohol negatively affects my workouts, in several ways. I make poor food choices when I'm drinking. My skin looks better when I don't drink, and alcohol instantly bloats me.
So, I know all of this, and I'm still like, h is OOT, I deserve a glass of wine tonight or, oh, it's Friday, I'll have a glass or two to celebrate the weekend.
@juliagulia made a comment recently (a couple really) about drinking fewer nights and also how the fewer nights she drinks the less she wants it, and I think that may be me. Instead of a glass of wine bc H Is OOT, maybe a bath or a face mask or some other treat that I have yet to imagine that would replace the wine that sounds so good and does nothing for me.

thisbitch I hear you on the drinking thing. I am still finding my way with that. What I like about WW is that technically I don't have to cut out drinking. BUT it's still a lot of points and then all the surrounding stuff. Like 3 times in the last month I've basically barely eaten all day so I could drink at night....and that is a disaster, of course. I'm cutting way back right now and actually going to try to go the next three weeks without drinking. I'm sure I'll have a couple over the weekend, especially because we are traveling to an area that has some of our favorite wines (so I have to at least try them before I buy them), but I'm going to try my best.

I know alcohol has been part of the reason I am struggling a lot right now. And I went back to beer instead of vodka and sparkling water.
I struggle so much more when DH is home. Now that he's back at work and isn't moving around as much as he was used to, we are going to need to make changes quickly. He is already getting annoyed that his gut is coming back. But he will look at meals like our burgers and chips & dip last night and not see a problem.

I like to buy it from the farmer's market while it's in season. So I don't have too many more weeks to save $ and to my own lettuce.

I tracked yesterday and I'm still staring at my day, wondering what I missed. I only logged 1,150 calories and yet I went to bed full and after a scoop of really fucking delicious ice cream. I'm sure I missed some 500 calories pastry that I ate, but for now I can't figure it out.
That's the worst - when you eat 1,500 calories one day and dealt with bouts of hunger throughout the day. And then there's a day when you can barely eat 1,200 and you're not at all hungry.

Though the answer may be the day at the fair I had on Saturday where I didn't track a damn thing.

I'm always jealous of people who shop the farmer's market and save money. I love the farmer's market and the idea of supporting local farmers, but I definitely have a hard time spending (significantly) more money to do it.

Our farmers markets have absolutely amazing food, but that shit isn't cheap at all. I never understand when people say they save at farmer's markets. I have found that farmer's markets tend to be pricey, but if you can find an actual farmer, it is significantly cheaper. My mom and step dad do not do markets. They went to the markets a few times. They had to haul everything an hour away, pay for a spot, try to make enough to cover the transport and the fee to have a spot to sell. It wasn't worth the hassle of trying to charge people more to try to cover unnecessary overhead.

Ours has the best plums you've ever tasted so I buy tons but they're about $1 each. I wish The Farmer's Market was a money saver but we do a lot better buying most produce at Costco and then filling in the gaps with stuff from Sprouts on double ad Wednesdays.

Everything (even large grocery stores) are more expensive here, because everything has to be trucked up a mountain. It's not shocking to me that mom and pop farms have higher overhead to cover. We do have some great co-op boxes that are not too pricey for what they are, but I've just resigned myself to expensive produce.

I only buy from actual farmers at the market. They're a whole lot of artisan honeys and cheeses and soaps, but also bushel baskets of cucumbers for pickling.
Yesterday, I got two giant zucchini for $1, two salad spinner-fulls of lettuce for $2.50, a shitton of dill for $1 and a bunch of fingerling potatoes. Fruits are sometimes cheaper there, but usually not. Veggies

I just upped my activity goal for WW. I've been making a point to walk more at lunch to meet points so I think this will help add in activity.

I crashed and burned this weekend, especially yesterday. Ugh. I just drank a bunch and ate like shit. I feel pretty yucky today. But I'm moving on from it. I feel bloated from all of the drinking and salty foods, but I think I undo the damage with a good week. I didn't meal prep yesterday, but I had leftover salad & grilled chicken that I took for lunch today. My plan: B: greek yogurt, granola L: salad w/ grilled chicken S: cheese stick, fruit D: Parmesan crusted tilapia, roasted veggies, rice
I'm also going to take some time tonight to meal prep.

Two things: I wanted to work out today guys. I didn't really have anything planned but I just felt like it. Who am I? I did the Jessica Smith 40 minute ab walk video on YouTube and it was great. It went by really fast and I definitely got my heart rate up. I did that one this morning too! My H came downstairs and laughed at how dorky it was but guess who said he is getting up with me at 5 to do it tomorrow? That's awesome! I really like that one. Her Belly, Buns & Thighs walk is good too!

Fruits are sometimes cheaper there, but usually not. Veggies This is how I do it too. I have certain items that I always buy from the farmer's market and I know they are cheaper. Fruit is usually more expensive but I buy it there because it is sooooo much better and I just buy less to get better quality. Also, my fav veggie vendor discounts items in the last hour of the market so they don't have to load it all up, so I get a lot of deals that way. And my hummus dude gave me a free item yesterday because he knows me and it was almost market close. I am not kidding that I have friends at the farmers market. My biggest savings is on meat and fish. I buy a pound of salmon once a week for just under $20. The same cut and quality would probably be $25-$30 at the grocery store. Same with the organic chicken and beef I buy. The quality is so good and the price is really good. But I'm sure Farmer's market savings is very regional. We have a lot of farms close by and our market is well attended so I think we get better deals.

Hello all! Today is day one of WW for me. (Thanks for the encouragement to join this thread, @juliagulia)
It's 11:30am and I'm starving. Even though I ate a normal and decent breakfast - I think it's the mindfu*K of starting WW.
Can anyone tell me how to connect my Apple watch to my WW app? I am the equivalent of an 84 year old grandma trying to work her VCR. (I did manage to go into my Apple Health app and turn on all the data for WW to access, but I still don't see any showing up in my WW app.)
Thanks in advance!

The first couple weeks are weird, but it does get easier. I'm not exactly sure because I don't have an Apple Watch, but for my Fitbit, I went into my profile, hit the settings button (gear thing) and then synced it under activity settings. If you can't figure it out, go online and chat with a WW person. They have good support.

I can handle walking around like a goof in my living room. Me too! I used to be embarrassed to be working out when MH walked in the room. But then I told myself it was worth it to workout and look silly in front of him then to be overweight in front of the world.
And now I feel like a bad ass when I'm working out, so I don't mind when he walks by

My trick for making it to noon is to have either a cup of peppermint tea or drink 8+ oz of water between 11:00 and 12:00. I usually make it to noon before tearing into my lunch!

I want to try some of those walking workouts when the little goes to school. I usually do my big workout in the morning, but those sound great for a quickie bonus workout or to do on days when H is OOT and I can't get in a studio workout because of childcare.
And idk what anyone's office situation is like, but i think someone earlier mentioned a 12 minute one, and back in my working days, I could have closed the door to my office at lunch and worked in a 12 minute walking in place workout. (I'm assuming earbuds and watching the workout on my phone.) I liked working out on my lunch break because it freed up more of my personal time.

A few years ago I used to workout with a couple of coworkers. Since I work at a school we would find an empty classroom, move some desks and use the PC/projector screen to do JS workouts. It was fun!
These days I bring my sneakers to work and take a walk on my lunch break.
