Kale is ruining my breakfast experience. Damn it. I knew I should have grabbed some spinach. I am determined to have a good food day today and get plenty prepped for the week. DH wants to take food to work as well now, so the quantity will need to be significantly more. Yea, I've decided to avoid kale from now on. It should be downgraded back to garnish status. It's fine when it's in things where it is intended to be. Normally I have roasted sweet potatoes with spinach on top then a little cheese and a couple over easy eggs. At least I went with a small amount of kale to sub in.

While meal prepping, I really got thinking about the Italian chicken bowl recipe. It calls for 2lbs of chicken and is supposed to make four meals. That's 8 oz of chicken for one meal! It's so much, so I'm going to have to reevaluate and make my own variation next time.

My goal is something like 140g protein per day and fitting that in without the fat % skyrocketing is my downfall lately.

I am making it with one pound I think I ended up using about 1.5 lbs, so I'll split it as evenly as I can and adjust my recipe before logging it in MFP.

I've been meh for the last 4 days.... good breakfast and lunch, but hungry early afternoon and that has set of a series of bad decisions.
Meal prepping a roasted veggie and grilled chicken quinoa bowl for lunches, and bought some healthy snacks. I'm hoping the lunches will keep me fuller so I can avoid the afternoon snacking.

So now that I've been tracking foods for a couple weeks, I've realized that I don't like lunch.
I mean, I eat foods around lunch time, but not "lunch" foods.
I tend to eat gigantic breakfasts, snack through the afternoon and then have dinner.
Like, even when I prep bowls or salads, I never eat them.

I am the same way with lunch, loony. This is disastrous for me because I end up overdoing it with snacks and have no room for dinner as far as calories go.

I've been doing better when I pack them and plan ahead (like enter them before I eat them). Like this week I portioned out some smoked salmon with half a small avocado and sliced apples. It was filling, but still snacky and because it was all pre-portioned, I didn't go overboard. I've also been doing chai tea, vanilla protein powder and banana shakes with a handful of nuts when I'm on the go. The planning ahead really is the only thing that works for me, regardless of meal.

I made the Greek bowls this afternoon. My kitchen smells amazing.
I wasn't too genius to calibrate in advance, so I used 2 lbs of chicken but it made 5 meals once I split it all into "holy shit that's a lot of chicken" portions.

Two things:
I wanted to work out today guys. I didn't really have anything planned but I just felt like it. Who am I?
I did the Jessica Smith 40 minute ab walk video on YouTube and it was great. It went by really fast and I definitely got my heart rate up.

I was in my kitchen for 3.5 hours making food today. The meal bowls for the week, prepped a week of lettuce, and sloppy joes with baked sweet potatoes for dinner. I feel like I ran a marathon.
I'm fucking tired and I hate cooking.

I had dinner with my grandma, parents, and aunt tonight, and there were a lot if trigger foods there. I'm one of those people who can't just have "a little" of something. If I have a cookie, I'm having 10 cookies. If I open a bag of chips, that sucker is finished without a break. If I get started, it's really hard for me to stop. So I was proud that I said no to all of the trigger foods. I know it would have sent me down a spiral. High five! It's so hard, especially with family there.

High five! It's so hard, especially with family there. Thank you! I'm so tired of hearing "it's okay to just have one." Okay but would you say to an alcoholic that is okay to just have one drink? No because one turns into many many. We have more family coming in for labor day weekend and I'm not looking forward to all the comments. We will be twins. I'm going to visit family and my aunt's pantry is like a junk food aisle. She doesn't eat any of it but she keeps it stocked for all of her friends. Ugh. I'm going to just have to cook my stuff at her house because we will be there for 5 days. And I'm going to walk A LOT.

It's so wasteful, but I've been buying certain foods like cookies or donuts, eating one portion and then throwing the rest in the trash.
It's sometimes the only way I don't finish an entire container of something.

I also spent quite a bit of time in the kitchen today making my lunches and cutting up vegetables for snack. I love cooking, though, so I didn't mind it. I'm also really excited about lunches this week.
I'm soooooo close to Onederland. I'm two pounds away. I want to get there as soon as possible, so that's motivating me at the moment.
Two things that are making me happy right now (one I feel bad about.) Due to the rain from Harvey, we have a late start tomorrow. I feel so bad for what people to the east are going through, but I'm going to enjoy a slow paced Monday morning.
Second, a video was taken of me at a school function on Friday. I'm still so big, but I keep thinking how much better I look now than I would have three months ago.

I have been so off track for the last week or so, not motivated, not recording, not doing all of my Noom reading, going insanely over on calories. So, anyway, I'm back. I'm recommitting this week. I started with a workout and a good breakfast and we'll go from there.
I have some personal truths that I don't want to deal with, but I probably need to deal with at some point.
1- alcohol is not my friend. All of the days I've gone way over calorie involve alcohol in some way. I can't fit enough food in to feel not hungry and still drink, so one of two things happens. I eat less all day so I have calories left for alcohol and then I'm hungry and buzzed and make poor food decisions or I say fuck it, I know I'm going over, I might as well just eat everything anyway. Neither of those is helpful in achieving my long-term goals.
2- I personally find that I do a lot better when H is here and we are in our routine than when he is traveling, for a number of reasons. His travel schedule isn't likely to change, so I think I need to work on some longer term strategies for staying in a better routine when he's away.

thisbitch I've basically cut out alcohol for about six months besides the very, very occasional half glass of wine. I drank Friday night and was shocked Saturday morning at how much I was dragging even though I wasn't really hungover. It was eye opening for me. I can't say I'll never drink again, but it definitely didn't feel worth it.

And hi, I lurk y'all. I don't often have much to add because I don't really have a choice but to follow my diet.
