Finally had things go the preferred direction this morning on the scale. Stupid stupid scale.
I've been tracking my fluids the last couple days and I think I was slacking off there more than I realized, so that should help some.

There are sandwiches, muffins, brownies & salad in the break room. I just successfully said no to all of it. A coworker said "just make a salad". But I thought, I'm not actually hungry.
On the plus side, I'll get in some extra steps going to the 2nd floor break room for the rest of the day to get some peppermint tea and refill my water bottle. I don't know that I can say no to a brownie a 2nd time!

After my worst morning yet of work, I stress ate a ton of candy while sitting at my desk in the dark with the door closed. Immediately after I realized it was a poor choice and I can understand why I did it. I put all of my stress and feelings in a post to my Noom group and having them support me and give me all the hair pats made me feel better. From there I picked myself up, made a plan, made some important changes to improve work, and I feel like a new person.
The fact that the scale went from 171.6 on Tuesday to 167.8 today also made me feel better. I know it's just water weight, but to be down so quickly encourages me.

I ended up having a donut but I went small and I didn't actually eat break or snack so I'm still fine, but I'm going to assume I'll have no loss this week

My hunger has been out of control. I need to cut the snacking out at night. I've been doing well with my meals. I have had breakfast and lunch everyday this week. My body is now feeling hungry at those times so I plan to move my breakfast up to 11 and lunch to 2. Keep dinner the same which is 8.

She really wants me to try fitness classes with her and she goes to all the new trendy classes. But I'm afraid. I just get in my head that I'm going to embarrass myself or be so out of my element and I don't know. It just holds me back. I don't have any vested interest in your exercise, but I want to address this. It's not just you, I feel like I hear it a lot, and it makes me sad to think of anyone being scared to try something for these reasons. If it's a new class (or new to you), you will likely feel out of your element. That's ok. IME, exercise people are really friendly. They were all new at some point, and most people love to give the new person a hand or point out something for the new person. If they are regulars at the studio, they'll know you're new because they haven't seen you around and you won't know where everything is. So, they won't think you're dumb, just new. I don't know how you'd embarrass yourself. Generally in a class, you're so busy working you can't really concentrate on other people. This isn't always true, though, so in case you're truly and obviously the absolute worst in the class, I want you to know it's unlikely people are laughing at you. Typically IME exercisers root hardest for the newbs and those that struggle. We love to see other people come to exercise and love exercise and know that it's hard for people starting out. We want you to succeed. If you end up somewhere and it isn't like this and the people are bitchy and snotty, then it's a studio culture issue, not a personal issue with you. I wouldn't work out at any studio or gym like that because I hate that culture, but it's rare IME.

Also, because everyone loves an anecdote, when I first went back to the gym after having my first kid, I joined this elite-level training group. Not only had I just had a baby, but I was high risk so I had been on exercise restrictions for my entire pregnancy, so I was pretty out of shape on a TB fitness level scale.
Also, I am not and have never been an elite-level athlete, even at my peak physical condition, so.
I was literally the worst one in every class, every time. We'd start out with a mile run for warm-up and I was always the last to finish. The fastest people would have finished the mile before I even got to the halfway mark. It was the kind of class where it was also fairly visible who was good and who wasn't that good.
Anyway, sucking that bad was actually freeing. I was so bad it was evident that I wasn't competitive with anyone. I was always last, so no one expected anything else from me. Even the teachers were impressed that I kept going (to classes) when I was obviously so far out my league.
If you do something, and you're truly terrible at it, it might not be that bad. Maybe you'll end up liking what you're doing and being cool with not being great at it. Or maybe it'll just be a funny story to tell your friends.

I remain annoyed at Noom's worthless food database. But MFP has everything, thank jeebus.
We had a party at work and I knew I'd make it be my dinner tonight but I didn't feel like I went overboard at all. And yet, I logged all the calories from my appetizers at the party. 1,000. Jaysus.

I'm going to try a Couch 2 5K starting this week. I really loved C25K. I still have really good basic running skills from it.

I tried and tried to do C25K. I wonder if some people just aren't made for running. I think I'm in this camp.

Well.
If we're sharing embarrassing exercise stories: the first time I went to a yoga class I ripped ass so loudly. Like, it reverberated off the wall.
That was probably 15 years ago and I haven't been to a yoga class since.

@juliagulia - I'm lucky that I've been SAH or PT, but we've been logging 15-20 miles a week in stroller walks. The big one sings (and if she makes it without crying, she gets a treat) and the little one sleeps. I'm dreading winter. I know we'll still be able to walk some, but it's been such a mainstay, I'm worried about how to replace it. I mention this a lot (but I love her) check out Jessica Smith's you tube channel. She has many indoor walking workouts ranging 10 - 45 min. I know it doesn't replace the fresh air and getting the kids out of the house, but it's a way to move when you can't get out. My older daughter (6) sometimes will join me. Thank you! I did one of these today to get some more steps in while DS was sleeping and I was solo. Not bad for a 20 minute YouTube video!

It's painful.

I've successfully done the podcast 5k101 twice (after each kid) and have moved on to 10K trainer by zenlab...although have not ever made it past week 10 while pushing the double stroller. I'd be down to try the actual 5k again after going back to intervals.

@juliagulia - I'm a spaz in classes. I've tried for many years, but it's really not my jam.
I think that part of it is that my mom is an instructor and taking any of her classes makes me feel like I'm a pre-teen in trouble, so it colors my whole experience.
Yoga is pretty much the only group exercise I can stand.
I also think that since I've become a mom, I cherish my solo runs, hikes and ski days, because I can throw on a podcast or audiobook and zone out without being social.

brux - I was short on steps today, so I did this 12 minute inside walk workout. It was 3(ish)K steps and got my heart pumping and was short enough that I didn't feel bored or like dying.

I'm good with my ear phones and my gps tracker, thank you very much.

A lot of her stuff is indoor walking/low impact but she also has HIIT, strength training, barre, yoga, etc.

And I have trained with them for years and one is a CSCS that I should really let watch so he can fix what I'm doing wrong. But I don't.

Ugh. CD1 happened last night. I'm up 3 lbs from last week. I know it's water weight, but it's still a little discouraging. I've had an OK week food wise, but there was a little more drinking that normal due to the party and 2 dinners out. But I've had one of my most active weeks ever. 4 out of the past 5 days I've had 16K steps, and the other day I just made my goal of 12K. So I'm just trying to remind myself that the gain is temporary and that my good choices will add up. Today's plan: B: breakfast bowl L: burger, chips (we're having a staff cookout) D: not sure yet, probably chicken because I have it in the fridge.
Last night I had a really good smoothie for a snack after dinner. 1 frozen banana, 1/2 tbsp. natural peanut butter, 1/2 tbsp. unsweetened cocoa powder, 1/2 cup of berry Greek yogurt and 1/2 cup of milk. It was like a PB chocolate banana milk shake!

Classes make me cringe—give me all the solo workouts and I am a happy camper. I just have to make sure I make myself a plan to stay accountable, but pre-planning for the week on Sunday definitely helps.

Sharing embarrassing exercise stories--her we go.
Before I got married I joined a gym with a friend. As part of the sign up package we got a session with a trainer. He said let's just warm up by running a couple laps around the indoor track.
I wasn't huge or terribly unfit but running has never been for me. I made it one and a half laps and puked. On the track. In front of everyone working on weights.
I never went back.
