MH got a new job, and we went out to celebrate. At my favorite Mexican restaurant. I most certainly did not end the day within my calorie goals but I will take the wins where i get them: 1) new job for MH, better hours and closer to home. 2) I had a small margarita and we didn't even eat 1/2 of the chips and salsa, when I would usually have a medium marg and we'd polish off the chips 3) hit my 10k steps, took a bike ride, and hit my water goal

I read this article a few days ago. It's interesting, funny, sweary and, IMHO, good advice about losing weight/fat. physiqonomics.com/fat-loss/So I read this and followed him on FB and just figured out my calories and macros based on his formulas and adjusted my MFP goals. It's a lot of calories. And I put in today's good and I'm way way way over my carbs. So my new goal is going to be to hit the protein goal. I think that's a good place to start.

leatherpants, that's a great place to start. And maybe easier and more effective to start with one goal and really get that down well than to try to tackle everything at once. Anecdote: if I'm hungry (like now) and limiting calories (like now), then I always make sure to make room for my protein calories because they keep me feeling fuller for longer. Also, I was on modified exercise restrictions for both pregnancies, so I didn't do my regular workouts, but I still exercised most days. It's paradoxical but I found that I had more energy on the days I exercised, plus I slept better. With my first, I used to exercise on my lunch break, and the days I had to miss (for a lunch meeting or an OB appt) the afternoon slump was deadly. On the days I worked out, I didn't have the slump, plus better night's sleep. Seeing the contrast really motivated me to continue. Weight gain is inevitable and beneficial, but you know the difference between being reasonable and over-indulging.

Plans changed yesterday. We were taking the kids (me & a friend w/ 6 yo twins) to a play last night. We were going to the 99 next to the theater. But it was too long of a wait so we ended up at Burger King. I had budgeted 700 calories for my entree & a glass of wine, so that gave me enough for a whopper jr & SM fries. 1700 cals for the day! I've already been to the gym, was planning 9 miles on the treadmill but the babysitter got me around 6.5 to tell meDD2 had pooped her diaper. So I had to go change her (The don't do diapers there). And I could see DD2 was ready for her nap so we just went home. I'm headed to the grocery store & have no idea what's for lunch. Anyone eating a yummy/healthy lunch? Do share!!

I'm finishing meal planning this week so I will share with the class shortly. Last night we had the flank steak with chimichurri and it was delicious. I used my scale to measure my food and ate just the right amount. Usually we never have leftovers because we are heavy eaters and I'm happy to report that there is leftovers! A huge win!

There's a welcome back to school night at my kid's school tonight- it's optional but we're going. There'll be a welcome back assembly plus a social and a food truck rodeo.
My dilemma is that I have enough calories for wine or food truck dinner, but I can't do both, so I'm going to have to decide which is more important to me.

I'm not counting calories today because it's my birthday and cheesecake is waiting for me at the end of the day, but I am going to trash whatever is left of the cake at the end of the night so I don't ruin my whole week.

I'm working my meal plan for the coming week. I've decided on these with salad for lunches: gimmedelicious.com/2017/01/18/low-carb-bell-pepper-tacos/I'm not necessarily doing low carb, but I love tacos and bell peppers, so... It will also break me out of the protein/vegetables/rice lunch rut I've been in for a few weeks.

I discovered 2 ingredient flatbread today and me and DS has personal pizzas for lunch. We had fun making them and they were only 383 calories with 28.8 grams of protein.

Today is moving day. 6 hours of loading/unloading boxes and furniture and cleaning. I hit 10k steps at the 5 hour mark.
MFP tells me that 1 hour of moving boxes and household items is 740 calories, so I'm going to add that and indulge a little. Probably on a couple beers, because fuck, I hate moving.

Between my 6.5 mile run, grocery shopping & barely sitting down b/c I'm getting ready for DD1's party tomorrow, my Fitbit says I had 175 active minutes today 😳 So I'm eating some cheezits & a glass of the sangria i made for tomorrow.

I ended up at Taco Bell after our graduation I mean it's fine because it was in calories and I'm eating salad for dinner, but still. Oh well onwards and upwards. I'm home for about an hour so I'll start meal planning Their Power Bowl is decent and filling. I get the chicken added.
