I forgot to check in yesterday! Anyways, I ate okay. Dinner was healthy and tasty and tonight I'm making my favorite meal ever, Skinny taste chimichurri flank steak. I'm struggling with energy and I'm sure a lot has to do with my shitty eating schedule and I haven't been working out...
I have a lot of exciting stuff happening. We booked our plane tickets for the move so I will be in CA September 7. Pray for me I'm flying with a 2 year old and a dog. SO is waiting to schedule a final interview with a firm out in San Diego. It's an amazing opportunity and they offer free healthcare with no deductible! I mean what???? That's unheard of so that alone would be a huge raise. He has 3 other opportunities in the pipeline so he's feeling really good about everything. He actually talked to the svp from the company he didn't get the job from and the only reason he didn't get the job is the other candidate worked for old colleagues. The svp personally called him and said when he's out in CA he would like to grab dinner and when they have another opening the job is his. The was a nice ego boost. I'm rambling but I felt I had a lot of negative shares so wanted to share all the positive news we have going on. I start work the second week in September and mentally feel this is what I need.

I didn't do great with food today. I was at my moms, so I had a ready to drink protein shake with nothing added in on my way and then completely missed lunch because I was trying to get food into 3 toddlers. I had a handful of tomatoes at some point, but nothing really until dinner where I stuffed myself full of roast and potatoes and just now when I got home I had a bowl of cereal. So, I probably didn't have too terribly many calories today, but they weren't great calories. I'll do better tomorrow. This has been me everyday. I'm not necessarily going over my calories but what I'm eating isn't nutrient dense. I eat one good well rounded meal a day for dinner and I always feel so much better after eating that. Imagine if I ate a well rounded meal at every meal... I probably have amazing energy.

Yesterday was stressful. We got the official celiac disease for my dd. Then we spent 4 hours with a nutritionist learning about how to follow a gluten free diet.
I ended up home after all of this, starving and wanting to binge eat.
Thankfully my husband told me to take a breath and drink some water and then decide what we should do for dinner. I admitted I wanted to order some unhealthy food, but we made a salad instead. I was proud of myself for ignoring that trigger. Today I'm down 2 lbs in my first week of doing Noom!

thisbitch , GM mentioned you've been working at a big deficit for a while. Do you mind my asking what kind of deficit you are using? Aren't they doing what noom threw at them, which is 1200?

I saw my mom this morning randomly for the first time since I've started this journey and she told me I looked like I was losing weight and asked if I was. So I am happy now.

I'm in a terrible mood today and want to go off on pretty much everyone I see.
My breakfast didn't hold my hunger well so I ate lunch at 11. I don't have supper packed so I need to make it until 730p with just my snacks or rummage something up from the cafeteria, which doesn't look promising from the menu.
Meals planned: B- Greek yogurt, blueberries L- Mexican quinoa with chicken and guac S- chicken and broccoli slaw Snacks- strawberries, string cheese, almonds. I also have an emergency stash of lara bars.

I eat very little, or of little quality, during the day, and by the time I get home I'm starving and shove everything into my mouth. This is one of the big things I need to address. Cooking lunches for the week on Sunday is going to be my salvation, I think.

Could not survive on 1,200. Even without exercising, I think I would look at everyone and they would turn into hams like the cartoons. I can't either, and I'm super light on exercise. I stick between 1600-1800 most days and my loss is slow, but it's working.

I haven't been really focussing on the 1200 calorie limit for noom. More so the psychology of weight loss and really that's what I'm enjoying. It's making me think about why I overeat, what my triggers are, and giving me tools to combat them. I've only been on noom for one week, haven't once hit the 1200 calorie goal, but i have lost 2 lbs.

Noom gives me a standard starting point of 1200 calories per day. Sometimes it's more but I can't figure out why some days it gives me extra. Then it also gives me back 1/2 of what I log for exercise, so if my circuit class records at 400 calories, then it adds 200 to my daily total.
I can usually do the limit (I went over everyday on vacation, but I wasn't trying to stay in calorie, I was just recording.)
Nutrition is pretty important to me, anyway, but a typical day looks like:
B: Salad with greens, fresh fruit, smoked salmon and two eggs L: a cytosport protein shake made with a banana D: protein and a vegetable or two I like to have cherries (fresh) for my dessert/evening snack. I usually have an apple before my morning workout bc I don't have time for a full breakfast and I don't like to work out on an empty stomach.
It's tight. I definitely don't have a ton of wiggle room, but that's manageable for me.

Yesterday was a good day. Hit my 10k steps at work, drank my 80oz of water, ended about 100 cals under my 1860 goal. I tried Good Culture cottage cheese and was not a fan, so I'll stick to my Anderson Ericson. Also tried Halo Top that my mom bought....it wasn't terrible. Meals for today: B- cheerios, strawberries, milk L- Mexican quinoa S- pork chops and veggies Snacks- cottage cheese, carrots/cucumber/peppers. And Starbucks iced coffee. Booooooo

Noom gave me 1,200 until finally on day 3 it accepted my current weight, my goal weight, and my input as to how quickly I want to lose weight. So now I have 1370, which is just about exactly the same calories as the TDEE calculators I've tried before.
So, 1370 it is!

With my exercise calories, I usually end up at between 1350 and 1400 for the day. I didn't work out today. I have to get up at 5am to get to my workout and I was cumulatively exhausted from too many nights of going to bed late and getting up early.

Okay so is there any way to enter exercise in Noom? When you're in the home screen, scroll down to Do More. Click on do more and it will give you an option to add exercise. Scroll to the exercise you did, choose your time and intensity and record. Noom will then give you back half of the calories you burned in your calories allotment.

Weigh in day today! I lost 3.5 lbs this week! I'm super excited with my progress, since I didn't see the scale move at all last week. This will be a challenging few days with food. Out to dinner tonight, Saturday is going to be very busy with prep for Sunday, which is DD1's bday party (party food & sangria!), Monday is DD1's actually bday and she's requested Chinese food (that's my girl!). I need to sit and plan so I can indulge a bit on Sunday and mostly Monday. Today's plan: B: scrambled eggs w/ zucchini mixed in, English muffin w/ 1/2 tbsp. butter S: yogurt, watermelon L: tuna marinated in a little olive oil & vinegar, cut up veggies S: the rest of those veggies, cheese stick D: turkey skewers from the 99, 1 glass of wine
Happy Friday everyone!

I weighed in today and for the first time didn't have a loss. I've been weighing in a couple of times this week and I know that today's weight is artificially high (and probably due to too much sodium) but even so, it's disappointing. It feels like what I've been worried about (losing momentum when the school year starts) is coming true. This was my first full week of work, early wake up, feeling tired, etc.
This morning I left my house to drop both my girls at daycare before coming in. It was a perfect metaphor for how life is when things get busy. I made sure both girls had exactly what they needed for school--swim clothes for water party, water bottles, snack, sunscreen, etc. It wasn't until we were on the road that I realized I had NOTHING that I needed. I forgot my lunch, my snacks, my water, even my wedding ring.
Even though I know that the scale wasn't super reliable this morning, I'm feeling a little defeated. I'll snap out of it in a bit. Maybe once I have my coffee.

Maybe once I have my coffee. ((Hugs)) I'm sorry the scale didn't reflect your work. I hope that once you get in the swing of things you'll get better about remember YOU. I feel the same way, so often. The girls are set and I'm forgetting something major. There was one morning where I was feeling so together, I was on time I have everything I and the girls needed. I had gotten the girls where they were going and I realized I hadn't put on makeup or BRUSHED MY HAIR! Makeup I can do without. But WTF to the hair thing!!
Anyway, some unsolicited advice on remembering your stuff. I bought myself a cute lunch bag for work and I put it next to DD's. So when I'm packing her lunch, I'm packing mine at the same time. I do my best to prep everything for the all of us the night before. I'm sure this is stuff you've thought of, but taking 15 min at night to prep it all makes a huge difference in my stress level in the mornings.
Good luck and maybe you can think of a NSV to focus on for this week.

Has anyone thought about meal plans for the week? I'm so focused on the party Sunday, but I need to buy groceries for the week too. I think I'm going to make these for breakfast: damndelicious.net/2017/03/13/avocado-and-egg-breakfast-meal-prep/I figured out the calories on MFP and they're 373 with spinach swapped out for the kale (kale sucks). I need to plan my lunches and dinners.
