dogbutt, I'm glad you checked in. Even when, maybe especially when you're having a hard time. I hope tomorrow is better. Have you set a goal for tomorrow or the week?

I didn't do great with my goal last week which was to eat breakfast. I'm thinking I should focus on that goal for now. I'm having a hard time with my binge eating habit I've picked up over the last 2 months.

I'm over here now from the WW thread. I just read through the intros while eating a bag of gummy bears. Gummy candies are my weakness along with coffee creamer, muffins, and scones. I was surprised by how easily I was able to pass on these for WW.
I think I look great in the mirror and then I see pictures and wonder wtf! I'm 39 with an almost 4yr and 16yo SD. Each season I have had to buy the next size up in clothes. A friend told me of her weight loss success on WW and I joined in June. I started at 230 and I'm almost down 15. I hope to get to 180 or less. Also I need to lose some of the boobs. I think I am ready to go down a size and I'm so excited! It is the hardest thing about fixing clothes that fit well.

Day 1 and I am 93 calories over... which I am more than okay with since I had nothing prepped.
I stuck to water (80 ounces), and avoided my afternoon Pepsi, which is a huge struggle for me usually. And I hit 10k steps, thanks to some extensive rounding at work 😄.

Hi Sunny41! Sounds like you're off to a great start this week, brux. I've been eyeing DietBet and maybe everyone has just talked me in to doing it.

Last night I made these southwest stuffed green peppers and they were so good. So said something again this morning and asked me to put it in the rotation.
I am so happy that I'm able to make healthy dinners for me that we all can enjoy it.
Here is how I made it:
1pound ground beef Taco seasoning Can of black beans Can of corn Brown rice Mild cheddar cheese Green peppers
Cook the beef and add the black beans, corn, and taco seasoning and cooked brown rice. Mix add to the green peppers and sprinkle the cheese over the top. Bake for 15-20 minutes

A few days ago I was feeling sorry for myself because I basically have paid for weight watchers for the last 4 months and gained 5 pounds on it.
I decided to cancel my membership and I logged on here to check in with the HIH weight loss threads. I saw this noom thread and I decided to join noom.
I've only done it for 5 days, but I can tell logging calories and doing the daily tasks are really helping me. It's really helping me to understand a lot of my issues with food.

I went to the grocery store last night and then prepped a mexicanish chicken/quinoa dish for my lunches, cut up fruits and veggies for snacks. Ready to tackle the day!

I weigh in daily. It was heavily touted as a best practice when I did the Omada program so I started. Sometimes I have mixed feelings about it but I think it's best for me. You just really have to be ok with that number going up and down a bit.
For metrics I have a spreadsheet with my daily weight. I average it weekly and track the difference between the previous week's average. I also track total loss/gain from the previous week. And I track overall loss, percentage lost, percentage of goal, remaining pounds until to goal, and loss by month. I really like numbers. 😔

For everyone, I recommend also taking a waist measurement (around your belly button) and a hip measurement. Those will sometimes change when the scale doesn't, especially if you're adding in exercise. It's just an additional metric to use. HilarityEnsued, can you weigh in today and Friday? To see what happens over the course of this week? As always, feel free to disregard if not relevant or useful. angelashly, I use Aidells. I buy mine at Costco. We also love their chicken meatballs. They're great, already cooked so you just microwave them. The kids love them and they're a great quick dinner with fruit, salad, or cauliflower rice. brewcitygal, glad you like Noom. Can you ask to join our group? I'm there- TB is my name, Brux is there, and HE is on our team but surprisingly quiet.

Hello!
I'm going to jump into this thread for at least a month (ttc, so taking it month by month rather than a set weight loss goal). I just weighed myself for the first time since I got back from vacation and I managed not gain any weight (down about half a pound, actually), but I am up about 5 lbs from the the 20lbs I had lost between January and June. I was not kind to myself in July. Time to get back on track!
I'll be 31 Saturday and SAH with my 2yo DD, 7.5 yo lab mix, and 12yo Norwich terrier. I love yoga and reality tv and my weaknesses are cardio and after dinner sweets.

Good morning! I got up early and did a ladder interval run and am feeling really good. It was a workout I have always struggled with previously, but today I really pushed myself and it felt great. We ate a healthy dinner last night of baked wild salmon with chipotle seasoning, cauliflower "risotto" with a mushroom and sun dried tomato sauce, and steamed swiss chard with a little drizzle of fancy olive oil. I think my H ate every shred of veggie I prepared (and I almost always over cook). I slept soundly and am feeling energetic and ready to conquer this day.

Hi Sunny41 ! Sounds like you're off to a great start this week, brux . I've been eyeing DietBet and maybe everyone has just talked me in to doing it. HI! I was doing great on my diet until CA, too many Mai Tais, and I'm finally back on track. Have you tried water aerobics at all? Not sure if it would help you get workout in without too much other pain. I'm not into diet bets, just not my thing. But I wish everyone luck!

Also as if I haven't blown up this thread this morning TTMA chicken sausage I've seen it in many recipes. Is it good? What brands? I feel chicken sausage is more about the flavor choices and recipes rather than brand. Some are just too hot for my tastes. But Aidells and Trader Joes are decent. I will eat those brands like a brat but some I just mix in with pasta or rice.

It was from Costco and really good. Gilberts craft sausage. ETA it had sun dried tomatoes in the links. It was subtle and good.

Oh, I think we were thinking of the pre-cooked kind that is like a hot dog. I only use Italian turkey sausage for that style and I can't think if I can find them unflavored. But you could add the andouille style instead if it's easier to find

Checking in. I'm feeling like I'm coming out of the fog and thansk for listening to me. I ate a good dinner last night and I just felt so much better eating that meal than I have all weekend. Today I'm talking with my dad to game plan packing and moving out to CA. Knowing there is an end in sight is putting me in a much better headspace. There's light at the end of the tunnel!
It's not an ideal situation and it's only temporary. The plan is Dd, the dog, and I will leave the first or second week of September so I can start working. SO is staying behind and will move In with his mom and continue to work and interview. It's the best thing for our family and to start saving money is making me giddy. I feel really good about this decision and it's amazing to feel so sure about something.
I say all of this because I know our current situation is sucking the life out of me and has made it hard for me to focus on my health. I'm hoping this shift in my mental health will reflect in my physical health. I'm feeling very zen about it all.

We had chicken sausage last week (it's a regular with pasta or spagehtti squash in our house). I tried Brat Hans brand spinach & chicken. It was so gross. Both H and I thought it tasted like hot dogs.
I like Aidell's and Bilinski's brand. Trader Joe's is ok too.
