My dinner plans were derailed by an invitation from my IL's to have pizza with them. I ate two slices and a glass of wine. Then I went home, gave the girls a bath, got them to bed & cleaned while having another glass of wine. I didn't have any snacks, which is very very rare for me. I ended my day just over 2000 calories, but because I ran in the morning and was active in the evening, I had 300 remaining. I got up early today and did a 20 min strength training video and I plan to walk around our campus during my lunch break. Today's meals: B: baked oatmeal S: banana L: deli snack box S: yogurt, peach D: chicken burritos (I put chicken & salsa in the crock pot before I left for work today)

I meal planned for the week and groceries will be delivered tomorrow morning. I made sure there was something green on my plate for every meal. Next step is to find my Fitbit charger. What's on the menu?

I also saw a recipe yesterday for Greek yogurt mixed with peanut butter used to dip apples in so I may try that at some point This sounds great! Would you share when you have a moment? skinnyms.com/skinny-peanut-butter-yogurt-dip/

I'm still in Noom. I never got around to cancelling. I need to figure out weekends because shockingly I stop tracking and start eating and drinking Friday night - Sunday night. I'm a mess, but a mess who wants fun cocktails and steak and fries. I'm also way less focused on weekends. I've found that I actually like to weigh-in on Friday mornings. I used to weigh in Monday mornings and it was discouraging because it's right after the weekend of not doing great. Anyway, I try to be super focused for 2 of the 3 meals a day (on weekends) and then basically allow a cheat on the third meal, but try to control that. This is what I am going for too. With summer here we go for ice cream etc. and I don't want to miss those.

I think one of the things that Noom has really helped me do is focus on what food I'm actually bringing into my house. I grocery shop multiple times a week, and I used to always pick up some goodie that I would mostly end up eating when I was craving something sweet. I've tried really hard to focus on just not getting that shit into my house, and it has been good because last night I ws really craving sweets and I ended up eating some leftover grilled chicken instead. Lol I'm a shadow of my former self. Also, I know it's not the most budget friendly, but I've been buying tons of those pre-portioned snack packs that have a few bites of cheese, a few nuts and a few pieces of dried fruit. They are good and filling (once I allow my stomach to alert my brain it's actually full and to stop eating).I thought about getting this because Kroger has a Kroger brand set that were 10 for 10 the other day.
I found that having skinnypop and fruit have helped me with my crunchy and sweet cravings that I always have at night so I agree with making sure that things are not in the house. Those fiber one cakes are good too for sweetness and most are 90 calories. My dd now prefers those brownies over the little Debbie ones.

I'm sure they "copy cat" recipes are in Pinterest. That will probably be easier on the budget. I actually may look some up later b/c the price is what stops me from buying them.

HilarityEnsued I have totally had the "this isn't even good" feeling when I'm eating something that is supposed to be a treat. And I don't always stop. I think that's a good observation. Like make my treats really good because I'm not getting as many anymore.

In spirit of accountability, I skipped my 5 am workout this morning. I was really wiped after yesterday and just couldn't get up.
I was going to walk so I will do that at lunch since I'm WFH today. Tomorrow's a new day.

We went to Chipotle the other day and I got a burrito bowl and only ate half of it. And then trashed the other half because I knew I could not just sit there and look at it. Like as soon as I ate half I immediately threw the other half out. Yes, I know this is wasteful, but I have very little willpower when it comes to leftovers and I know I'd just eat it cold, standing in front of my fridge with the door open. I throw so much leftover food away for this reason too. For me, I'd rather waste perfectly good food than overeat. This is particularly necessary for when I make my kids pasta for dinner. I try to make as little as possible, but always trash the rest because I have no will power for that type of stuff. I also refuse to take leftovers when we go eat at my MIL.

One thing that I'm really trying to focus on (w/r/t) is to not eat something sweet/dessert if I don't think it's absolutely amazing tasting. I have an insane sweet tooth. Like I would skip portions of actual dinner to eat dessert. But the other night I found myself eating cookies that weren't even that good, just because I wanted something sweet. I was literally saying to myself in my head "this isn't even that good why are you eating it", and yet I continued. I have also been working on cutting out soda. I refuse to drink diet soda, but I was having one regular fountain soda a day. On weekends sometimes this was two. So I've been working on having none during the weekdays and only one a day on the weekends. It's just stupid, wasted calories. I do drink diet, but I too am only doing the coke zero on the weekends and doing all water during the week.
I am trying to acquire a taste for sparkling water so that I can still have the bubbles sometimes.

dogbutt, I need you to be my personal chef! That all sounds sooo good! MH doesn't really eat pork (he'll eat bacon any day of the week, but that's it), so I haven't had pork chops in years!

Good morning.
I also went a little off the rails this weekend. I think all in all I did okay with food choices, but with it being a kid-free weekend, there were quite a few beverages consumed. I did manage to get in a run on Saturday and we walked a ton on Sunday, so hopefully it wasn't too much of a hit.
This week has been back on track with green smoothies for breakfasts, salads with protein for lunch, and a non-processed, whole food dinner. I have also gotten up the past two days at 5 AM to get a hard workout in (1 interval run, weight training today).
H is out of town for the rest of the week and SD is with her mom, so I am looking forward to some simple, healthy dinners, early nights to sleep, and lots of movement. My next weigh in is Friday morning, but I am really feeling good about things so far this week and I am feeling energetic and motivated today.

I got into cooking my last semester in college since I was trying to lose the freshmen, softmore, junior 15 pounds. I wasn't into pork for a while other than bacon. I found it dry. My SO's dad would always get these amazing pork chips and make them for us when he visits. It got me on the pork train. It took some practice cooking it myself but it can be a little pink inside which makes its nice and tender and not dry at all. The dryness was my hang up and I know others have reasons for not eating pork. It is a nice alternative to chicken and doesn't break the bank.

This is why I bought myself a meat thermometer at the beginning of all this. I am always afraid of undercooked chicken and pork and then ruin it.

The thing I've found most helpful about Noom so far is the daily calorie restriction prevents me from just piling a second helping on my plate. On 1200 calories a day, I'm forced to stop and wait and make sure it's really worth it- am I genuinely hungry and need more food or do I just need to wait and let the sensation of fullness hit my body?

Another trick that has been useful to me was a tip I read in an article years ago on how not to gain weight over the holidays. It was about deciding to have a treat at holiday parties- they advocated going for the treat, but defining a treat as something you couldn't ever have again.
That's a little strict, but my takeaway is that a handmade pastry from the local bakery or something made by my pastry chef friend is worth the splurge but a little Debbie or a chips ahoy would never be worth my time.

OMFG I'm over this cleanse. Days 1-3 were great and I felt so good and I woke up today and just hit a wall. The mornings are the worst so I'm passed the worst part. Today is also the last of the hard days. I get to eat more tomorrow and then I'm done. Just keep repeating to myself "I've lost 2 pounds in 3 days. I'm going to look awesome in my dress". 😫

I would one million times rather talk about dieting than infidelity.
Yes, I know. You guys can call me to the carpet for bringing shit from another thread here. Idc. Dieting is my safe space.

I just finished the yummiest dinner. Solo night 1 is going well.
I roasted up some diced butternut squash with Cajun seasoning and served it with some green chile pork over a large helping of steamed Swiss shard drizzled in a little fancy olive oil and pink salt.
Now I am debating on whether I want to go for a walk or veg out on the couch and watch a show I typically don't watch when anyone is around.

This afternoon, I looked and it was 2pm and I was cold and a cold salad sounded terrible for lunch.
I walked to the ATM with the purpose of having a glorious chocolate cookie for lunch. Except my route took me by a Vietnamese shop and it reminded me that they have a $2 spring roll special.
So I got two fresh spring rolls for lunch instead. I'm so shocked at myself. And those spring rolls were so fucking good.

Huge thing happened tonight. I completely forgot SO had a work dinner tonight so after I put the gremlin to bed I was browsing uber eats. I did not feel like cooking. Anyways, I put my phone down and powered through and currently waiting for the oven to ding so I can eat!
