There was a whole backstory in the books about Nymeria having a family. So. That's my theory there. I was kind of hoping it was Nymeria, but she just wants no part of the Stark shitshow. She looked pretty happy with those other wolves, eating any horse or ed sheeran that dare cross her path.

So the show guys talking afterwards said it was Nymeria and Arya said what she did because she realized that Nymeria coming with her wouldn't have been true to who she had become as a wild direwolf.
I...was like "oh, it's a different direwolf." Lol. This is why I wasn't an English major. I don't read into things well.

I kinda felt that Nymeria turned her back on Arya, just like Arya turned her back on her. Sure, Arya did it to save her life...but Nymeria didn't know that. Also, is hasn't turned out too well for any of the Stark kids wolves. Btw...where's Ghost?

I'm just tired of the "you're the greatest thing ever, I would give my life for you my queen" stuff, especially from characters who haven't really seen her do anything except have dragons. The more our other characters get moony over her, the less I am buying into it. It's starting to feel like novels I wrote in middle school, where everyone would fall in love with my main character. Agreed. I also really hate in the books where she kept pretending to be a stupid airhead. It annoyed me to death to read "I'm just a silly, young girl and don't know what I'm doing." every time she talked to anyone.

Someone just tweeted "what are the odds Theon will run into Gendry when he's out there floating around?"

I want things to work out for Jon. Sansa didn't want him to go, but I think it's the right call. I feel like Sansa will get a power high ruling while Jon's away, and LF will be working some plays.

The opening credits show the seas on both sides of The Wall are frozen over now. The Hounds vision was of the white walkers coming at seas edge, so that's interesting.

Ruminating on the episode, I'm not sure what to make of the olenna/Danny conversation. Olenna is a world class plotter, but seems to be advising against taking the advice of clever schemers (as she, herself a schemer, offers this advice). Huh? Not sure where this is going. Seems a little late to drive a wedge between dany and tyrion, especially based solely on the advice of a lady Dany just met. Any ideas on what the point of this scene was/if this is supposed to go anywhere?

Also made no sense: Episode 1: Dany takes 90 minutes to walk up the steps to dragonstone. She cherishes the soil. She is home.
Episode 2: Dany: "I don't remembering this dumpy place and feel no ties to it."
Um. Different directors?

Plan to take over the Iron Throne: take 2. I guess it's time to throw out plan 1, now that she doesn't have the Dornish army to help siege King's Landing.

She should still have the dornish army, right? Cersei has their queen. I'm sure they are pot committed. Was the whole army out there on the boats?

I think we all know my favorite moment.
I'm pretty sure Nymeria will be back. They needed to remind the audience she existed before she swoops (pounces?) in to save the day in the near future.
Also probably a commentary on how much Arya has changed, and not all for the better. She's gotten wilder and harder. They have lived parallel lives. "It's not you" indeed.

Also am I the only one who thought that was Yara swinging from the prow of the boat?
I'm like 48% sure I used the term "prow" correctly.

I assume they've just been taken prisoner. I can't imagine Dorne would quietly fall in line if Cersi kills their Queen.

Can we talk about sir Jorah's treatment for a sec? Apparently the crux of it involves removing the scales, possibly applying some kind of medicine. It's forbidden because it's too dangerous for the person doing the treatment.
Alright. But if Jorah wasn't so absolutely covered, couldn't he have done the treatment on himself? Publish that shit, and people can do it on themselves the second the scales appear. Granted it sounds like it's not a guarantee, but reduce the mortality rate of grayscale by 40%- here's your Nobel prize grand maester.

Any ideas on what the point of this scene was/if this is supposed to go anywhere? I think the point is that Olenna said clever men, not clever people. I think she meant that literally. Olenna's always been all about women being smarter than men. It didn't surprise me to see her telling Dany to ignore the men who are all posturing/telling her what to do and follow her instincts. She's not wrong that she's outlived all the clever men she's ever known. That said, I don't see a happy ending for her either... she has no one left. What's going to happen to House Tyrell and Highgarden?
