I really liked The Ghost with Trembling Wings: Science, Wishful Thinking and the Search for Lost Species. It was my third Scott Weidensaul book and probably my favorite. It had a little bit of everything: recent extinctions, old extinctions, an unexpected but entertaining chapter on cryptozoology, the ethics of back-breeding and cloning, plus his travel adventures. It was entertaining and well balanced. 5 stars.

I went back to my favorite genre of audio books - comedian memoirs narrated by the author. I started Survival of the Thickest by Michelle Buteau and it’s great so far. Her chapter on the different types of friends you have is comedy gold.

I am crawling through “Groundskeeping” - I just can’t get into it. I should be able to finally finish it tonight.
This is the 3rd book in a row of a “Read with Jenna” book that I haven’t liked. I may have to stop reading her recommendations

I’m almost done with The Diamond Eye. So so so good! I think I still like The Alice Network best, but this is a close second.
I’ve got The Bookish Life of Nina Hill and Crescent City both waiting in Libby for me.

Finished Dead Silence this week and enjoyed it! I partly guessed the ending but there were still some good twists. Now I’m starting If the Shoe Fits, super cute so far.

Cher, with how you describe your H, I think he’d love Ken Follet. Most people get into his work through his book Pillars of the Earth. It’s a tome about cathedral building in the 1600’s. Sound boring to you? It sounded boring to me and I couldn’t get into it. But it’s my husbands favourite book, and my history buff best friends favourite book. H loved it so much and sent him spiralling into the other book Ken writes.

I finished The Silent Sister. It was pretty good. Of course I found an author I want to go back to read more of and my library system doesn't have many physical books or even ebooks.
I have about 150 pages left of shiny broken things and I'll get to it. I downloaded it as my kindle work/dd's dance book.
I think I am going to start my first Harlan Coben book Run Away tonight

For those of you that get audio books from your library, do you use Overdrive? Is your Overdrive doing this- it started maybe a month ago. If I stop a book, when I go back to listen to it again (and really, it's when I turn off my car and then get back in) the book used to go back about 15 seconds. Now it's going back nearly 5 minutes, every time. It's really annoying and taking me longer to get through my books. I can't figure out if there is a way to change it.
And to stay on track- I just finished "The Collective." Not a fan, I'm okay with dark but this didn't live up to the hype (given by a friend.)2 1/2 *... maybe.
I'm starting The Second Mrs. Astor today; I love historical fiction so I have high hopes.

I don't love the Libby app. I only use it for audiobook listening and nothing else.

I felt like I read more last month but I guess just the two..both of which I really liked. Guncle Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe
I checked out The Wonder Boy of Whistle Stop from the library and have several paperbacks on loan from my MIL, including The Last Thing he Told me. I had started it but didn’t get too into it before the e-loan ended but went to give it another shot.
I need the weather to warm up because my favorite reading spot is the rocking chair on the front porch.

I finished Pachinko last night and I loved it so much. A very beautifully told story, with incredible characters. A lovely chunky read. But I got tricked by Kindle- I saw I was at 95% so thought I still had a fair amount to go and then it ended and had millions of pages of acknowledgements and discussion questions blah blah. I just wanted more story!

I flew through Lauren Dave's The First Husband on Saturday bearfootzcontinued, I read The last thing he told me, last month and her books are not spectacular, but good enough to be entertaining quick reads. I also started the Invisible Library (the world shifting/distopian-esque setting is not my favorite, but I'm only 20% in and will keep reading) and am listening to Cemetery Boys, which is great so far as well).

Oh wow. I only read 4 books in March. It's funny what 3 weeks of a teacher strike can do to my free time and routine.
My favorite was The Last Thing He Told Me by Laura Dave.
Good to More than Good: Crying in H Mart The Wife and the Widow
Just OK and Predictable: Just Haven't Met You Yet
This month, I'm really looking forward to In The Weeds (Bourdain!) and A Very Punchable Face (Jost!)

A friend recced "Sorry I'm Late, I Didn't Want to Come: One Introvert's Year of Saying Yes"
I laughed out loud at the title, so I'm looking forward to that coming off my holds list, too, in the coming weeks.

I am currently listening to The Good Nurse: A True Story of Medicine, Madness and Murder. I’m only 18% in and it is wild. So crazy
I’m also reading the Alice Network. I had borrowed it from my library about 3 years ago, and I didn’t get to finish it. I recently downloaded Hoopla and saw that it was on there as an audiobook so I borrowed that, but it was too hard for me to follow along (I have to close caption most tv shows I watch so throwing in these French accents and French words made it too hard for me). I saw that they also had an ebook so I decided to do that instead. It’s really good and I always wanted to go back and finish it, especially now that she has another new release out.
Hoopla is pretty awesome though. I’ve known about it forever, but I thought most people used it for audio, and I wasn’t doing that. I was also satisfied with using the library system for my ebooks. I didn’t realize that the books on hoopla (or at least some of them?) were available for immediate downloads, which is great. I even checked all four of my linked library cards for the wait on Alice Network and they were all several weeks long or even months. The only thing I don’t like is that I can’t send it to my paperwhite. I have to read it on my phone or use my kids kindle fires when they aren’t allowed on them.

My concentration has been so terrible lately. I finished one new book and then had to go back to rereads because new material was not getting through. I’m talking to my doctor about changing up my ADHD meds this month.
Anyway, I read the astronaut and the star. I think it was a kindle first option. The lead was so mean it was off putting. ⭐️⭐️1/2
I reread any duchess will do for the millionth time. I love that book.
I started the humans by Matt Haig and I really love it so far. My hold on crying in H mart just came up so I’ll be starting that one too.
My favorite place to read is anywhere! I love the kindle and Libby apps.

junch817 for me, everything on hoopla is available immediately! But you are limited to a certain # of borrows each month depending on your library. It is great!

I took a couple weeks off because a lot of my recent books have been ones I didn't finish
Went to the library this morning and checked out three books.
I started reading and already finished Rock Paper Scissors. Whoa! Liked all the twists a lot
The other two I have are Good Rich People by Eliza Jane Brazier and This Might Hurt by Stephanie Wrobel

I started Run Away yesterday and I don't know. I am only 3 chapters in, but the 3 chapters took 1.5 hours and only 30 pages.
