It's also really shitty to make Harry choose between best friends here. Like, I too, would want to rescue both.

Isn't he under an Imperius anyways? I have no memory of whether this differs from the book, but he's taking polyjuice potion I thought...? I meant his father. Barty Crouch Sr. Jr is taking the potion.

David Tennant is an excellent actor. He makes a great villain and a great hero.

Oh I forgot about him being the torturer. That makes what he did to Neville even more fucked up. He definitely gets off on it. Evil bastard.

I miss the maze from the books. With the actual creatures and obstacles like the sphinx. But the creep factor has definitely been upped here.

I really really hate this part. Poor Cedric. I feel like I'm going to cry and I've watched this a gazillion times. It's just so tragic. Such a young and courageous kid, his life cut short because of Voldemort insisting on using Harry's blood.

I'm glad Wormtail loses his hand at least. But also fuck him. Yeah. I was not sad at all when said hand strangled him to death in book 7.

So dramatic with the slow finger to the forehead. Everything's a production for Voldy-shorts.

You know in the book when they are dueling and Harry is trying to think of how to, why does he not think about ANY of the spells he's been working on with Ron and Hermione? No, instead he thinks back two years earlier to what his idiot professor did.

Oh god the trauma of coming back to applause. And if they had just gotten back to the portkey in time. Right? Like everyone is so jubilant, and Harry's just been through the most traumatic event.

If I were Harry I really would've wanted to be all "I FUCKING TOLD YOU SO" to Snape Yeah, if he weren't so traumatized. Not that Snape would listen. He likes blaming Harry for everything. Because he's a bully.

I think I would think better of Dumbledore and the choices he had to made if not for the whole "let Harry be abused for 11 straight years and then periodically afterward." I can squint and make what he does later in the books make sense. But that's unforgivable. Right? I know he was trying to keep Harry away from the wizarding world. But there were a million better choices. There are a lot of parallels between how Riddle and Harry grew up, and neither of them should have had to. Honestly, Harry could just have easily been the villain. The wizarding world needs to revamp how they deal with children. So much abuse. No action.

As a muggle-born, Hermione must be feeling the return of Voldemort in a way the others can't really understand. So true. Have you read the fan theories that it's at this point that she actually modifies her parents' memories and sends them to Australia?

Ooooh I have not Basically, at this point, she never really mentions her parents again. And she's always with the Weasleys (either at Grimmauld Place or the Burrow over the summer before Harry arrives), doesn't go home for Christmas, etc.
