addymac, I was the same with the car seat. We were so paranoid we screwed them up. We went to the police dept today (here the police do it not fire) and had them checked and we had them mostly right but he made a few adjustments. I feel much better now having had them checked. Not sure how it is in the city but here in the burbs we needed to make an appointment to get it done (but the appointment was super easy to get), just FYI. Yeah I remember seeing a website and places I could make an appointment at... I need to find it again!

Guyssss my coworkers threw me a surprise shower today. I really wasn't expecting anything and I am just completely blown away by their generosity. They really went all out!

@starzia I thought I would be spared this time or at least have the ones from my last pregnancy just get worse. Nope, this time they are all around and above my belly button whereas last time it was my hips and below my belly button. So, I'll just have stretch marks everywhere now. 😑

Had my appt with my OB today and my BP has started creeping up, which was the reason I was induced my last pregnancy. There was no protein in my urine but I do have lots of swelling in my feet. She wants me to check my BP every day and will deliver me if my BP is high again.
On the one hand, I'm physically ready to be done but on the other hand, we're not done prepping.

addymac, yay for getting the carseat installed. We put ours in last week and I think it's installed correctly (the lights on the base all came up green) but honestly wouldn't know if and ifso, where I could get it checked here! As for nighties, I currently only have 1 nursing one.. definitely have to get me some more. As I don't plan/want to do laundry daily right from the start I guess I'll try to get 4 total orso? I also need to check whether the nursing camis my sister gave me fit me.. but its kind of difficult to do with my bump haha. Got 0 nursing bras right now as I haven't been able to find them instore and will have to order them online still which is a pita cause I don't really know the size I'll need??

I was pleased that I hadn't gotten any stretchmarks myself yet (I do have diastase I'm afraid, but no straightmarks) then like a couple of nights ago I was putting my mama lotion on my bump and realized my skin had cracked right under my belly button. So not like stretchmarks I guess but actually the top of my skin? Aren't stretchmarks usually under the surface more? Either way I was so surprised and a little upset hah cause I too thought I would be spared with just 3 weeks to go!

cali Oh wow that must have been a surprise for it to be a group appointment rather then an individual one. Sorry you felt awkward being there on your own! I'm always surprised when going places for information and there's people who ask zero questions! Did you like the dr? We don't need to pick out pedi prior to giving birth here, which in my case is a good thing I guess cause I'm overwhelmed enough as it is already

elliecat17, sorry that your nausea is back!! I struggled with serious nausea and throwing up as well for a few weeks earlier on (like 32-35/36wk orso?) but lately it's much better again! I think the baby just gets so big there's little room left for your stomach? It left me little to no room hah, and eating but esp drinking was a real struggle! Now that babygirl has started to drop, I'm also able to eat a bit better again. I hope you'll feel better again soon! jexxa, oh how awesome to have been surprised by your coworkers like that!! Did you get any pics taken? Will you share them in the shower thread? I just love seeing them! cali, awwww so adorable!! jt2378, kristyw, sorry bout the stretchmarks but knowing I'm not alone in getting them even this late in the game is making me feel a lil better heh.

Oh happyfeet9 I'm sorry to read this! I'm glad they're taking things serious and will have you monitored so closely. I hope your BP stays alright and you will be given a bit more time to prep for the babies. If they do decide to deliver soon, all the non-finished prep will work out one way or another as well though! So don't let that stress you out to much (easier said then done I know hah!). *hug* Keep us posted??

The more I think about it, the more anxious and stressed out I feel about possibly going past my due date (and for some reason I'm like 200% certain that I will.. even though I have nothing to base that on). I would really really hate for MH to only have a week with the baby before heading back to work.. But work is so unsupportive and rigid with their planning they forced him to put in fixed dates to take his leave. So he'll be off for 3 weeks starting the Monday past my duedate (which would be 40w4d) and there's no wiggleroom in case baby comes much later. I know tis stupid as none of this can be planned nor is in my hands but i sometimes feel all panicky and could cry when I think of this. I'm so stupid

Your not stupid muscari, I'm sorry for the worry and added stress. It's totally understandable to want YH to have as much time as he should with you and baby girl. I feel like it is go nerve wracking to just have no sense of when these babies want to show up. Big hugs

cali omg sooooo cute!!! happyfeet9 ugh I'm sorry- I hope your BP stabilizes and drops long enough for you to finish your prep before they come! muscari- how many weeks off does your H have? It totally sucks when work is inflexible with time off. DH had to decide back in march when to take his two weeks, so we just did the first two weeks of September because he absolutely did not want to miss a day without the baby, even though I wish he could be with us sooner, it is what it is. ☹️ jexxa aw yay for work showers!!

I had my appointment yesterday!
It went well in the sense I finally saw my midwife instead of all the other doctors in the practice.
I went over everything and she looked at all my nonsense over the last 3 weeks. My BP was 137/92 so it terrible, but because of my symptoms coming on and off she sent my to triage for monitoring.
I was there from 4-9! They ran test and bloodwork. My BP stabilized and my lab work came back okay. My liver is still doing well. I definitely have protien in urine, but it's been like that for a few weeks now.
My midwife also ordered a BPP which he passed so I was relieved. I have to go back in on Monday to check BP and symptoms, and it looks like I may be induced at the end of the week next week. The goal is 37 weeks, but hoping to get to 38. So now I wait!

Which in itself is pretty good (we saved time earlier this year so he could be home a bit longer when the baby was born). But I just worry that if baby comes really late, there'll be just a 1 week of his time off left to be with the baby. When we put in for his time off back in January, I had thought "well if baby comes early, we'll deal with it and ask my mum to come stay with me those days he's working till he gets time off" but I totally had given baby possibly coming late NO THOUGHT whatsoever. So now I'm freaking out and feel 200% sure that of course baby will not come until 42 weeks orso

I hope you continue to feel okay and your BP stays stable and all. I am glad thy're monitoring you and baby well though!

muscari because of your heart would your doctor be for inducing a little on the earlier side and not waiting until 42 wks which is common? Or do they not want to induce because of the possible strain it would place on your heart? Also I guess you could try the natural methods of trying to coax baby out. Isn't it crazy the things we worry about? My parents want to meet baby, and since they are coming from Hawaii to do so, I had to tell my mom not early September, but rather middle or end (even though she is worried about being cold) but I don't want them to come here and not get to meet baby because baby isn't ready to join the world. I know I could totally go late, mom was 2 weeks late with me and the with H's mom and him so late babies seem to be a trend for our families. I just really hope I don't, because at this point IDK how I could get any bigger! Baby feels so cramped in there as it is. cwbh928 I'm sorry you went through so many tests, but I'm glad you and baby passed! FX you make 38 weeks before induction!

I just really hope I don't, because at this point IDK how I could get any bigger! Baby feels so cramped in there as it is. You know, as much as we've discussed pretty much every aspect of labor and all the possible things that could happen, be it with me heartwise or placenta wise or the baby etc, we haven't ever broached the topic of going past due!! So I honestly haven't a clue whether they'd let me go the full 42 weeks or discuss inducing me sooner. I already told MH he'd better be prepared to try some of the natural methods of trying to coax baby out but he wasn't too keen hahaha! I'm definitely writing it down on my question list for our next appointment about going past due and inducing yes/no. It's so difficult when you have to plan stuff around giving birth, like your parents visit etc! My sister was 2 weeks past due (moms first pg), I was 2 weeks early.. Her sister's kids were all born premature, not sure about H's sister - so going by family history I honestly still have no clue haha. I hear you though on feeling like it's just physically impossible to go past due. I'm already worried about baby's growth those next 3 weeks. For the past couple of days I've been just so uncomfortable and my bump is starting to hurt, especially the area under my belly button where the muscles are already being pulled apart for a while now and it's actually starting to become painful!

cwbh928, So glad to hear your testing all went okay and they are monitoring you closely. I'm sure it must be a good feeling to know a plan is in place! OMG, I haven't even remotely thought of the possibility of going to 42 weeks?? DNW! I am definitely inquiring about this at my appt tomorrow, lol

The idea of going til 42w makes me want to vomit. But my Dr induces at 7-10d post Edd so I guess I wouldn't make it to 42w anyway, THANK GOD. I'd flip a shit if my Dr wanted to wait til 42w.
