wineallthetime Congratulations/I'm sorry. I think both apply? You've been amazing through this and you guys are killing it at co-parenting the kids.

It's already been a bang up day here. Last night I suddenly had a bad allergic reaction and couldn't breathe. I should have gone to the ER but waited it out. Apparently it's common to have a secondary antihistamine response 12 hours later and I did so I went into Urgent Care. My O2 saturation was low which explained the feeling like someone was sitting on my chest.
No where near 100% but definitely feeling much better and waiting for MH to pick me up because I can't drive.
I'll be an Epi-Pen person from now on. 💉

Congratulations wineallthetime! I say that because you have kicked ass at making good choices for your family and staying afloat during all of it. Also congratulations to no longer me related to that witch of a mother in law!

Hugs wineallthetime. I can't imagine how you must be feeling but like I have said to my best friend, you are setting the example for your kids that they are not to tolerate being treated poorly. It's brave and important and you have done right by your family. Shit inthekitty! That is so scary!

wineallthetime I'm proud of you💙 inthekitty glad you are okay, that sounds scary! Tgif - I'm likely clocking out early to tackle some stuff, maybe run to Costco. I worked til 1am twice this week and have some comp time to use. K keeps crying all day at school which is super sad, hopefully she will get used to school. How much do people send for book fairs? We sent $20 but I spent way too much time debating...and then j took a few dollars of his own. I was kind of annoyed bc I thought we were being generous and he apparently didn't think it was enough 🙄

Morning! I slept like shit last night and will only be nominally working today. I had my one-on-one with my manager and we spent almost the entire hour trading stories about our families and growing up. It was really nice and much needed.
I'm still frustrated that I don't even know when I can visit my Mom but I'm trying to let it go. My sister has hijacked every family event ever, we can't let her distract from grieving and healing.
I think I will go for a run in a bit to clear my head.

I had my first ‘therapy session’ today. It was not a match. It was an office psychologist (provided through work) and I had the appointment at my actual office. In an office with a glass door. Where after 15 minutes a coworker passed by and waived… way to make me feel comfortable. She sort of reduced the issue to ‘oh so you’re most scared of you infecting your parents and grandma’. Well no actually.
Why would you tell someone who has just told you stepping in to a huge school each week is a big ask when you’re scared of Covid, that your daughter contracted Corona at school ‘but that it wasn’t that bad & maybe that will help you’.
She said cognitive behavioural therapy would work for me, because part of my fear wasn’t irrational (I mean seriously…?). That I was very good a rationalising my fear (well yes that’s part of the problem). And that I might just have to accept feeling this way for now.
She then told me my issues where to complicated for her and that she wanted to refer me to colleague.
Rant over and on to the next one.
ETA TTDR; therapist sucked. Next one it is.

wedding unsure of the cause. I was almost done cleaning the rat cage. I am allergic to the rats and sometimes sneeze or have watery eyes around them if I don't take Zyrtec, but nothing like this before. Never had any reaction to their cage. I usually hose off racks from their cage outside, but the weather was so crappy I was at the utility sink. I was right next to an open door and jamming to Christmas music when I suddenly had difficulty breathing, got flushed, and my temperature soared. I only use soap and water so it wasn't the cleaners. The girls were really helpful and came to my aid along with Scott. For a minute there I thought I might be going out like Thomas Jay. Scott kept mentioning the ER and looking back it was stupid of me to fuck around with it. I will go in right away if there's ever a similar event.

nam2013 ugh. I'm sorry you had a negative experience. It's so hard to get going with therapy it doesn't help to stay motivated with treatment when your therapist sucks. I hope the referral provider is much better.

nam2013 I'm sorry it wasn't a match, it is hard to find a match. I met with someone through work too and she was fairly blase about covid as well, and said she had it twice! I'm like well I don't want it once, so... Once our allotted sessions ended, I was ready for a break. Hope the next one is better🤞

The one today was one to heel me over, well not so much .

Morning.
Guess who went all the way to the airport to do TSA precheck and forgot her license. 🤦🏽♀️ I swear it was in my purse and I don’t remember taking it out. I did take a planner and small notebook out of my purse last night and thinking maybe it’s hiding in one of those if it came out of my wallet. Ugh. MH automatically has it due to his clearance at work so figured it would be worth it for me to pay for it. They only do it on Fridays here, but I looked and there is a place that does it where we are going next weekend so I’ll try there.
I’m doing some shopping now. Getting M2 clothes because the stuff I ordered from 2 places over a week ago hasn’t made it here yet. 😒

He once had a terrible reaction to something. We were on our way home when it started. He had me pull over in the ER parking lot. But wouldn’t go in. He was supposed to travel for work the next day and was worried they’d keep him if he wet in the Er. Then he felt like he was doing better so had me finish driving home. But it wasn’t better, but he didn’t want to use his epi pen so he had me call a paramedic friend to come over. Then he was calling a pharmacist friend to see how much Benedryl he could take for his body weight. It was quite the evening and he eventually started getting better with the Benedryl. But lord, it was stressful.

I was kind of annoyed bc I thought we were being generous and he apparently didn't think it was enough 🙄 I sent $40 and told them to donate whatever was leftover to the PTO. But I think that was overkill. I think $20 is plenty sufficient. Plus if your not careful they will spend it all on the junk by the checkout. I once ran a book fair….one kid who was super annoying in general bought a Whoopi cushion. I knew his teacher would be thrilled with that one 😬. I tried to talk the kid out of it.
