wedding unsure of the cause. I was almost done cleaning the rat cage. I am allergic to the rats and sometimes sneeze or have watery eyes around them if I don't take Zyrtec, but nothing like this before. Never had any reaction to their cage. I usually hose off racks from their cage outside, but the weather was so crappy I was at the utility sink. I was right next to an open door and jamming to Christmas music when I suddenly had difficulty breathing, got flushed, and my temperature soared. I only use soap and water so it wasn't the cleaners. The girls were really helpful and came to my aid along with Scott. For a minute there I thought I might be going out like Thomas Jay. Scott kept mentioning the ER and looking back it was stupid of me to fuck around with it. I will go in right away if there's ever a similar event. Oh hi! Are you MH? He once had a terrible reaction to something. We were on our way home when it started. He had me pull over in the ER parking lot. But wouldn’t go in. He was supposed to travel for work the next day and was worried they’d keep him if he wet in the Er. Then he felt like he was doing better so had me finish driving home. But it wasn’t better, but he didn’t want to use his epi pen so he had me call a paramedic friend to come over. Then he was calling a pharmacist friend to see how much Benedryl he could take for his body weight. It was quite the evening and he eventually started getting better with the Benedryl. But lord, it was stressful. Yikes. Sadly yes, I might be your H. I got to the point where I could talk again (my shortness of breath was too severe to talk for about a half hour) so even though it hadn't resolved I at least felt better and didn't want to go in. I honestly just hate dealing with doctors and think they'll always just blow off my issues. Plus I have NG this weekend and figured it would make me ineligible to come in. I can imagine that was stressful. I hope it never happens to your husband again, but if it does that he goes in. Looking back, I realize it was stupid of me because I know severe allergic reactions can go south quickly. I don't need my kids to have a "He can't see without his glasses" memory.

wineallthetime I'm proud of you💙 inthekitty glad you are okay, that sounds scary! Tgif - I'm likely clocking out early to tackle some stuff, maybe run to Costco. I worked til 1am twice this week and have some comp time to use. K keeps crying all day at school which is super sad, hopefully she will get used to school. How much do people send for book fairs? We sent $20 but I spent way too much time debating...and then j took a few dollars of his own. I was kind of annoyed bc I thought we were being generous and he apparently didn't think it was enough 🙄 I sent $40 and told them to donate whatever was leftover to the PTO. But I think that was overkill. I think $20 is plenty sufficient. Plus if your not careful they will spend it all on the junk by the checkout. I once ran a book fair….one kid who was super annoying in general bought a Whoopi cushion. I knew his teacher would be thrilled with that one 😬. I tried to talk the kid out of it. Team $20 is sufficient. The books are so cheap there that allows for several. Plus, yes, they will get plenty of the stupid toys with any leftover.

Congratulations wineallthetime! I say that because you have kicked ass at making good choices for your family and staying afloat during all of it. Also congratulations to no longer me related to that witch of a mother in law! I have a story about her for you guys. She's the worst. I'll update when I get a few min.

I just volunteered for our book fair (scholastic) and I was shocked by how expensive a lot of the books are. I think less than $15, and they will barely get a book. There are a few that are 5-10 but most are 12.99 at least. I gave each boy $25, J spent $20 and M spent all of his.

I made a tres leche cake this morning. R and his GF (the one I love) are coming for dinner. I ran some errands after I got J from the bus and paid off A's motorcycle. Now I can cancel insurance on it during the winter.
Now MJ is napping and I'm doing paperwork. Gotta get M soon.

We are still havigg by a virtual book fair this year, which I am thankful for so C doesn’t buy a bunch of crap. $20 is enough tallb I’m sorry it wasn’t a match nam2013 however I wouldn’t write off a referral to a colleague if you can get in sooner than Jan with them. I had a horrible therapist that basically said she didn’t know what else she could do for me and I was severely depressed. But she referred me to her colleague and she has been my therapist for years now. A colleague could just be someone she met at a conference, not necessarily like minded. CBT is probably helpful for what you are going through. It’s just learning to change your mindset but it’s hard.

Our book fair was virtual again, too. I think I spent $60. I will buy all the books she wants to read. Lol.

wedding I know . The reason I’m not going to go with that one is that it’s a 45 minute bike ride (sorry where would I find time to clear three hours for a therapy session 😜).

My sister is allegedly leaving tomorrow so I will talk to DH tonight about travel plans and maybe fly out on Sunday since we have tons of sports tomorrow.
We had a meeting go sideways today, complete with someone (I will assume unintentionally?) insulting me and then someone else absolutely losing their shit on one of my coworkers. The guy had a point to start, but he went so far over the ledge that he ended up looking unhinged. I literally walked away from my laptop afterwards, put on my running stuff and left for an hour. I am so over these fools.

@whoever asked about the book fair. I volunteer for it every time and $15- $20 is what most people send. I see from $5 to $40. There are some pricey books but there are always a ton of $3-5 books too. My entire job when I volunteer is helping the kids figure out what they can get for their money lol
All that to say, $20 is perfect.

@wine, I'm happy court is over for you. inthekitty, soooo scary! I'm so glad you're okay! @nam, I'm sorry it wasn't a match snd she wasn't helpful. Re: book fairs I sent the kids with 20 each and then I ended up meeting them after school to shop, snd we spent 50 total on I think 4 or 5 books. I will stay in that range again this spring.

Why are concert tickets so $$$ ? Straight No Chaser is going to be in the PNW Christmas break and the girls love them. They'll be fully vaxxed by then and I'm sure the venues probably require vaccinations. But it's hard to justify the price.

Going to pro football or basketball games are so much money. It’s very hard to justify price for those, too. And sorry but I’m not giving that much money to NFL. MH wants to take M to one but it will still be so much for just two of them.

We have Sunday tickets for our baseball team, but it used to be a decent deal since you could bring food in..but now with COVID rules they stopped that, so now it's exponentially more expensive. We haven't done a football or NBA game, but imagine that's a lot more expensive.

Thanks for the feedback, j came home with a cat version of dogman and the cool bean story for his sisters..he said he was a dollar short for the. 2nd book he wanted, so he picked out one for his sisters. We let him keep his money he brought and keep the change from what we gave him.
The cool bean story is really good though, great lesson if kids feel left out.

We will be over in that area for J's shot in the morning- we may all go bc we are so excited and I have FOMO if mh takes him solo.

My brother and I just booked flights for tomorrow night. I still have no idea how we're getting from the airport to my Mom's but hopefully he'll get that straightened out tomorrow morning while I am freezing my butt off at Chase's soccer game.

Even the nosebleeds are a lot in football and basketball. And the fact that we would normally get into college sporting events free is probably why I am so aghast at paying a lot for these type of events.
