DD has a day off school and Roblox's server is down and she is pissed. She made me go online to confirm it's a full outage because she didn't believe me. After I found a blog post about it, she made me go to Twitter too because "you can't believe everything you read on the internet." Lol. DS had an early release and faced the same frustration. He was so mad when he realized what was going on. All of his afternoon plans were thwarted. DD was a bit incensed when there was finally an update on the Roblox server status page this afternoon and it just said "stay tuned." So she feels his pain. A whole day...wasted. The agony.

This is where I'm at. It's the only place I've found an active parosmia group on the apps I have already downloaded and know how to use. I haven't checked Reddit because I don't really Reddit, but I might. I just really hate Facebook. I stay mostly for my TK month board (shout out: cnf) and for Buy Nothing. You guys and D15 ate the only reason I care about FB. And the health teacher group I'm in, because I need other weirdos like that in my life too. But really just our TK group and D15. Otherwise I hate FB.

The entire city has been on edge this week. Hopefully the vigil they held last night helped calm some but we had a threat that closed a school down today.
But the city of Eagle (a suburb of boise) voted last night to allow anyone to fire a weapon on large parcels of land within city limits. so you know safety smafety.

Was in Sinema's outer office today. Can confirm it is not pink. No idea if her actual personal office is pink, but maybe Romney came to her house/condo? Eta: I wasn't there yelling at her about BBB I was there for an unrelated thing and very much not yelling at her lovely staff

Ie my BFF works with the dad of the security guard. 600000 people and you can’t go anywhere without running into someone who went to kindergarten with your brother 20 years ago 3 neighboring towns over And will tell you what they’ve been up to for the last 20 years. I’ve talked to a lot of angry people this week and it’s just draining.

I'm so sorry, jkjacq. I hope you're able to get some space to process. Small town talk is so exhausting, especially after trauma.

jkjacq You’re not being a downer at all. You’re sharing the complicated story of what’s actually happening in your town. I’m sorry that this week has been so hard.

Shit. I don't even go here but I came to this page this morning hoping to read something that would calm my VA nerves. I will tell you one thing: all the media narratives are wrong . I'm on doors every weekend and nobody has said anything to me about critical race theory or the infrastructure bill. Ever.

I know for Youngkin to win he’s going to have to bring some formerly D voters over to his side and I just don’t see why they would go? I also remember 4 years ago when the gubernatorial race was “too close to call” and Northam was the projected winner at like 7:15.

I don’t hear anyone talking about critical race theory or the infrastructure bill.

Who is being polled? People who answer their phones when an unknown number calls? That’s not a representative sample. A close race keeps people tuned in and interested. Maybe I’m just trying to convince myself it’s going to be ok.

Some of what Youngkin is doing is effective. It shouldn't work but it does. And history isn't on our side here. But I definitely see plenty of enthusiasm on the ground among volunteers and dem voters.

The schools and critical race theory stuff is an issue down further south in the state, though. It’s showing up locally in school board races and teachers and superintendents being yelled at during school board meetings. Also transgender student rights (bathrooms). Like front page of our weekly newspaper.
I wouldn’t say it’s voters most important concern—but for many it’s tied up in the larger “freedom” arguments.

It's an issue here too, for sure--our school board has been put through hell. But what I find on the ground is that those people (here) are an extremely vocal minority. There's a lot of astroturfing on that frothy right stuff too, to be frank.
