Anyone watching Squid Game on Netflix?
I just watched the first episode, wow. It’s really engaging.

We watched the first episode last night. I’m on the fence about it. I did think it was well done and an interesting premise, but a little bloody for me. I think we are going to give it another episode or 2 to see how it develops.

My friend just texted me about this show! She loves it. She said it the first episode was slow but that it picked up after that.
I want to start it, sounds interesting!

I started watching this because I found out Gong Yoo from Train to Busan was in it (spoiler alert, he plays a creepy weirdo, but is still exceptionally good looking). I probably would never have tried it otherwise, but I’m three episodes in and pretty hooked. I was rolling my eyes that the voting scene was taking so long, because obviously they would have to stay and play. But they turned it on its head by changing the stakes by giving people the choice. It was way more interesting than I expected.

Saw the first episode today after reading an article on the show. It was super bloody but also interesting and sad. Looking forward to seeing more because I heard it gets better.

I already watched the first three episodes in one shot, oops. I should pace myself (especially since it’s pretty dark, for my own brain) but it’s so good.

We had an interactive squid game installation at the subway station closest to my apartment last week. It also happened to be a holiday and a HUGE travel day. By 10am, there were over 20,000 people trying to get into the station because word of the installation had spread, which freaked out the minister of health. (It’s one of the smaller stations, only one line passes through so it only has one platform). By noon, the whole display was yanked out of there.

I watched it and enjoyed it. I don't think it's quite as good as all the hype makes it seem but I definitely thought it was a good show. It reminded me a bit of Alice in Borderland which is also on Netflix.

I’m four episodes in. It’s good so far. The best show in Netflix’s history? No. Definitely a ton of hype right now. But I get FOMO so I’m in.

I agree that it was good, but nowhere near their best show ever.
We finished it over the weekend. Episode 6 was rough

I finished it 😫 Loved it though.
So visually interesting, and a great cast (except the English speaking white dudes lol)
I didn’t realize the actress who played Sae Byeok (Jung Ho-Yeon) was a model and just signed on as an actress this January, yesterday she became South Korea’s most followed actress on Instagram

Apparently it means "dawn" or "new beginning" and is not a common name in Korea at all. The inference (on reddit) is that she's named that because she escaped the North and made a new life for herself.

They didn't even have to look any type of way!

I finished. I really enjoyed it and can see why it’s so popular right now. I will say I thought it was worth the hype. I’ll try and spoiler my thoughts I guessed the twist that the front man was the cop’s brother, but that storyline just kind of ended and it didn’t make a whole lot of sense to me. Why bother with that if wasn’t going to go anywhere. And he said “you know why” and I was sitting there like “but I don’t know why!! Tell me why!”
I did not see the final twist coming. That one took me by surprise, but it seemed to shake Gi-Hun out of his depression so he could make sure Sae-Bak’s brother and Sang-Woo’s mom were taken care of. I was worried he wasn’t going to keep his word.
I did not like that he turned around instead of getting on the airplane. I wish he would have kept going to see his daughter. And also not dyed his hair bright red.
I did not care for the VIPs. I think it would have been much better if they didn’t have any dialogue and instead we just saw them watching the games in their fancy gold masks. I feel like it still would have gotten the point across of who they are in the show without cheapening those scenes. [\spoiler]

That’s so funny. I did not see that coming about the front man, but I did guess that about the old man from the second episode. We needed to watch together lol![\spoiler]

I finished last night. I’m meh on it. I found the ending annoying and just setting it up for another season. But now I’m done so I can start season 2 of Morning Show.
